Hi there – I’ve got a strange problem – On my site, search is not working properly.

If I try a location based search, it doesn’t work at all – I have checked that location is entered correctly in the event itself.

If I try a keyword search, it won’t work until I change views from list to photo for example.

    Have a look here:
    http://www.watzon.today/events/

Here a URL for a location based search that doesn’t work:

    http://www.watzon.today/events/photo/?action=tribe_photo&tribe_paged=1&tribe_event_display=photo&tribe-bar-geoloc-lat=-33.8674869&tribe-bar-geoloc-lng=151.20699020000006&tribe-bar-geoloc=Sydney

Hi – I’d love to take a peek and build a better picture of what’s happening, but on visiting your main URL or your main events page URL I am met with 403 (Forbidden) or 404 (Not Found) errors. Is maintenance work ongoing or anything of that order?

Hi – Sorry, my developer has totally re-installed. Search is now working at the City level. What I wanted to do though this.

I have events in different countries – and I want to link users to a list of events in their country. I had thought to use the search function and get a link from this. But it seems that Country search is too wide

    Does that make sense ?

Yes, that makes sense and try to use location-based searches for this purpose is probably never going to be idea – even at a smaller scale – as the search area is basically a large circle centred on whatever location is provided, therefore it rarely meshes nicely with actual geographic boundaries.

In this case I think I’d recommend categorizing your events appropriately – ie, set up a countries category with each actual country set up as child categories (or however you want to structure it) and you can then simply load the relevant category view.

    Would that work here?

Hi! It’s been a while so I’m going to go ahead and close this thread. If we can help with anything else, though, please don’t hesitate to create new threads as needed. Thanks!
