MemberHi jordesign,
OK – so what if you essentially take this single piece of custom code – the tribe_get_events() query you referenced in your initial post – and set it up within an otherwise clean installation with just our plugins and some test data, and no other components: do you find you can replicate the problem there?
What I’m trying to determine is if some other code – whether from your theme or from another plugin like the one you could not deactivate – is interfering with the query in some way.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberHi jordesign,
That’s not quite what I would expect, but can I just verify that you did indeed test this with no other plugins but our own running (and a default theme – with no customization code left in place) and did the same thing happen then?
Thanks!

MemberHi Chris,
These sorts of things are definitely possible but would require an amount of customization work to implement: by its nature The Events Calendar assumes a default use of sharing and promoting event information rather than restricting it, so I’m afraid there are no organic capabilities along the lines you have outlined.
That said, it is a supremely customizable plugin built along WordPress best practices, so if you are at home with WordPress development generally (or have access to someone who is) it could definitely be worth exploring this in more detail.
Remember that our core plugin, The Events Calendar, is completely free – so you could evaluate this before making any license purchases, etc.
Does that help?

MemberHi Thomas,
I’m sorry to hear you’ve hit up against some difficulties. Just to confirm:
- Do you mean that it has vanished completely from Events → Settings → Filters and there is not even a distance checkbox option under Available Filters?
- Can you confirm that Events Calendar PRO is still active on your site?
Thanks!
Barry
MemberHi Peter,
Great question!
It’s certainly possible, but is not something that is accommodated “out of the box” and so it would need some customization work to realize this vision.
Whether you would set something up to “cross post” events across all blogs or simply switch to and query the primary blog from each would of course depend on your overall goals.
Does that help/at least give you some ideas to explore?

MemberHi Northern Pacific Digital,
Looking at your account it doesn’t appear that you currently have a license for WooCommerce Tickets – can you confirm if you made the purchase under a different user account (and login using that account if so)?
Thanks!

MemberI’m glad it helped, even if it does introduce an extra step – but at least this should tide you over.
My guess without seeing the code for whichever other plugin you are using is that tighter integration is completely possible, but pulling the various plugins together to behave exactly as you envision is ultimately going to require some more involved customization work (which is something we’d have to leave in your hands).
Since I don’t think we’re going to be able to help further with this on a support level I will go ahead and close this topic — but please don’t hesitate to create new topics if you need help with anything else 🙂
Thanks again!

MemberOur pleasure 🙂
Since we’re in custom development territory here I’ll go ahead and close out this topic, but of course if we can help with anything else please don’t hesitate to create new topics as needed and one of the team will be only too happy to help.
Thanks again!

MemberYes – that’s expected: unless you explicitly work around it, a filter extending the Tribe__Events__Filterbar__Filter base class will not modify the query if it is not currently active.
Barry
MemberGreat – I hope that works out 🙂
