MemberThanks for your input here Lee. Adam: does that give you some ideas to work with here?
Barry
MemberNo I’m sure it’s not – and we’re aiming for a smooth experience but it may be the plugin falls short on some occasions in certain environments.
I’m going to close this ticket for now, but if you need further help with this or another issue please go ahead and create a new thread.
Thanks!

MemberOK, I think I’ve got you now. I’ll see if I can compose a generic solution using Balance or some other Genesis theme, you may need to tweak it a little. Bear with me!
Barry
MemberDo you have a caching plugin active that perhaps has only been installed/enabled recently?

MemberSome good feedback there, thanks everyone.

MemberBut the problem now is the whole event does not appear. No date, no venue, location, etc, just the event name (linked) and the description that was entered.
Right, I guess I’d expect that. If we put this in the context of the Twenty Twelve default theme, it’s still going to be the job of the content.php template to render the posts.
That template doesn’t contain any of The Events Calendar’s template tags and possibly (not 100% on this) the relevant meta data containing event specific information anyway needs to be pre-loaded.
This may be simpler than it sounds – I don’t know because I haven’t tried it – but in any case, customizing whichever part of your theme renders the posts (or overriding it) would be an avenue worth exploring here.

MemberIs it possible that for that specific event (and others that are affected) the Hide From Upcoming Events List checkbox (in the listing editor) has been checked?
Just want to be sure on that (I appreciate you said you’ve already checked the usual settings) before we proceed with other troubleshooting steps 🙂

MemberThe widget title is filtered by esc_html() so yeah, you’d probably need to selectively remove that filter either for all widget titles or just this one.
While this blog post doesn’t relate specifically to your question it does show how you can inspect and change the parameters being sent to a widget. In that fashion, you could remove esc_html() from the widget_title filter only for this one widget, leaving all others unaffected.
Barry
MemberOne other thing: can you review this thread? It’s relevant because your site is using an old version of jQuery (1.6.2) – that is causing some problems here.
Barry
Member(And vice versa.)
Barry
MemberWhen you say you had the previous PRO version is that still the case? If you are using The Events Calendar 2.0.11 then you will also need to use Events Calendar PRO 2.0.11.
