MemberI noticed a new update came out (2.0.11) so I first did an auto-update of “The Events Calendar.” At the top of the plugins page I got a warning about needing to update “The Events Calendar Pro” so that they match in versions. There was a link to do this right in the warning area so I clicked it. The result was that it said I had the latest version but when I come back to the plugins page, I still have the same warning. Also when I scroll down to the plugin it still has it listed as 2.0.10 for PRO. Help!

MemberNever mind … I tried again and it worked this time. Not sure what hung it up before.

ParticipantI’ve having this problem also. (and mine hasn’t rectified it self yet)

MemberHi Grec, Jay: sorry to hear that this has been an issue for you guys – though it’s good to hear that it resolved itself (in your case, Grec).
Jay: can you try updating manually? You can grab a copy of the latest PRO version from Account Central > Downloads and upload it either through the WordPress plugin admin page (as a .zip) or via FTP (if you extract the .zip first of all).
Does that help at all here?

ParticipantI downloaded the zip of the latest version. What is the best procedure to upgrade from there. Just copy over top of the other folder or delete the old folder and replace it (either by copying or installing via wordpress plugin installer)?
Should it be prompt me that there’s a new version available and it should auto update? Maybe it’s the pro version just hasn’t had time to propagate yet and it will show up in a bit.

MemberIf you are at all unsure or unfamiliar with this sort of thing, please take a back-up of your site first of all. However the approach I would take is to deactivate the existing version, delete it, then upload the latest version and reactivate.

I believe it should, especially if you have entered your license key in Events > Settings. Unfortunately for a variety of reasons it doesn’t always work out like that in every case, though.

ParticipantBarry… sorry, no that does not help.
Do I need to deactivate the current version (2.0.10) of Pro first?
I’m reluctant to disable or delete first without confirmation of best procedure. If this isn’t going to be a “normal” update on the plug-ins page, then you need to provide directions.January 21, 2013 at 8:53 am #31250Jay
ParticipantOK, after waiting a few hours, It now auto updates when I clicked the update link in the out of sync warning message. (previously it said 2.0.10 was the latest version)
So I’d say just wait awhile and check back if that auto update isn’t working.

MemberHi Paul: sorry if that was unclear, but yes – the approach I suggested was to deactivate Events Calendar PRO, delete it, upload the latest version and reactivate. Only do this of course if automated updates are not working.
The Events Calendar itself (the core, free plugin) will also need to be at v2.0.11 for the two to work together successfully (in the OP’s scenario he had already updated the core plugin so nothing further needed to happen there).

MemberHey Paul. Just wanted to follow-up on this, as we’ve been talking about it as a group a bit today. Since two of the three users in this thread found it fixed by retrying, I’m wondering if the auto-update hasn’t triggered on your end so far.
Did the manual update get you sorted? If not, what happens when you try going into Dashboard -> Updates, and hitting the manual “Check again” option (might require a few attempts, and will likely require a cache clearing as well)?

ParticipantThought I’d post my experience – one of my client’s calendar pro updated no problem while another one didn’t. I downloaded the update, deactivated the plugin and logged out, overwrote the file via ftp, logged back in, reactivated it, fixed!

ParticipantHad this problem on another site running ECP.
So it seems the problem is that if you upgrade the regular Events Calendar first, the EC Pro flips out and removes the normal Update link on the plugins page (as it did notify me before I upgraded the EC, but not after) and adds the message at the top reading, “The following plugins are out of date: Events Calendar PRO 2.0.10. Please update now. All add-ons contain dependencies on The Events Calendar and will not function properly unless paired with the right version. Want to pair an older version?”. If you then click the Update link in that message, it won’t update immediately saying, “The plugin is at the latest version.”. This seems to resolve it self after a few hours as going back and clicking that link again, then upgrades it as “normal”.
It would be much better if it just left the normal upgrade message on the plugins page or there was some instruction to upgrade ECPro FIRST (assuming that wouldn’t give the same problem in reverse) or something, rather than this message at the top which seems broken for at least a few hours. ???
Going to the Dashboard > Upgrades and Check for updates Button did work in bringing back the normal update message on EC Pro on the plugins page however. It would be better if it didn’t disappear in the first place though.
