MemberHey, just wanted to follow-up here Cynthia. Any thoughts on Barry’s last note that might be able to help us out here?
Rob
MemberThanks a lot for the assist, Graeme! You rock 🙂

MemberHey there Ray, just wanted to follow-up to see if you’d seen Peter’s response. Does this get you where you need to be? Any further questions we can help with?
Rob
MemberHey Chris. Rob here; I saw your comment on Twitter and wanted to follow-up here to get you something to work with before the weekend as requested.
I see that you have environments on both 2.0.11 and 3.0.5 with 3.6, where this problem is occurring. Indeed I was just able to recreate both and looking through our central ticketing system, I see we have the broken functionality there logged as a known bug. The good news is it’s on deck to be addressed for this month’s maintenance release, which should be out in a matter of weeks.
Unfortunately, since there isn’t a snippet that we can offer up in this situation that would serve as a fix, your best bet at this point is to avoid using that functionality. I realize that’s not ideal but know that this is a priority for us and we’ll let the community know once it’s addressed.
Thanks for your patience and please let me know if you have other questions or feedback here.

MemberHi mavellino18. Thank you for these reports, and my apologies for the fact that we failed to reply to you here. Please know that I’ve got this on my radar now and will do what I can to get you replies in as timely a fashion as possible.
It’s odd you’re seeing this in Twenty Twelve, since I do my testing in that same environment and am not seeing anything wrong. Here’s what I see when I go to create a venue: http://d.pr/i/u1je.
It sounds like you’re seeing something different? If so, would you mind providing a screenshot so we can check it out?
Rob
MemberExcellent to hear!

MemberHey Adrian. Thanks for the note here, and my sincere apologies that we let this one slip by. Can you confirm if you’re still stuck here, or whether you’ve figured this out? We can try to point you in the right direction from there.
Rob
MemberHey Tim, are you still stuck here? Can you follow-up with your thoughts on Leah’s question if so? Thanks!
Rob
MemberExcellent to hear that got you sorted! Going to close this one out.

MemberHi sanver. I’m so sorry this one slipped past us; we failed you here. I wanted to follow-up to see if you’re still having issues here.
If so, can you perhaps elaborate on what the problem is? The events shouldn’t actually show on the homepage, but rather – unless you’ve checked the setting to mix them among your main posts loop – will live at /events.
Let me know what’s up and if it’s still a problem, and I’ll do what I can to help. Thanks again for your patience so far.

August 16, 2013 at 12:30 pm in reply to: Best way to organize and present conference agenda with multiple organizations #60773Rob
MemberHey onelittlemoose! I appreciate the note and apologize it’s taken me until now to get you a reply…as you can probably tell by your own experience so far, we’re a bit backlogged at the moment.
You raise a good question here. Managing conferences is definitely a bit of a challenge with the current plugin. We started work on – and hope to finish in the coming months – our own Conference Manager add-on that accomplishes pretty much exactly what you’re asking for here, and lays it out on the frontend with specific conference-centric views as well. I wish that were far enough along for me to offer you a beta because I’d love to hear your feedback (you’re the exact type of person it’s geared towards).
In the interim, when it comes to “faking it” with what the current codebase allows: it does look like using categories would probably be the most flexible approach (unless you found a way to make the frontend “Venue” pages serve as Organizations instead, which might add value since it puts a map/address atop the page).
Here’s an idea: what if you presented this in categories, but laid out using photo view? It has a posterboard type layout that, when broken out into categories, would make it fairly evident what sessions fell where without repeating a bunch of unnecessary information (and without making a huge list that people were unlikely to scroll too).
That help? Sorry I couldn’t offer up more, but I hope this points you in the right direction. Let me know if not or if this raised more questions than it answered.

MemberHi there abfederation. Thanks for the note here and apologies on our end that we’ve taken until now to get you a reply. I am indeed seeing the same issue there at your site…but oddly, am unable to recreate locally. This makes me think there may be something at play related to your install.
Can you try enabling the live Javascript filtering, under Events -> Settings, to see if that makes for a smoother experience? If that doesn’t do the trick, please also attempt switching to the Default Events Template to test whether the issue persists.
If it does, we’ll want to test for a theme or plugin conflict by deactivating other plugins, and the theme if necessary, to see if we can identify the source of the issue. Let me know how these go and I’ll do my best to advise from there.
