MemberHey Travis. Thanks for the note. The plugin works by rewriting the content loops at this point, so shortcodes aren’t viable. As a result I would suggest taking the custom template / template tag approach, given the lack of shortcodes. Have you checked out our documentation page at https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation ? It’d definitely be the best starting point.

MemberI’d say create a new English translation file; create a new catalogue from the .pot file, then name it accordingly when saving (generating the .po and .mo files along the way) and drop into the language section in your plugin folder. That help?
Rob
MemberYou should be able to rescue your old events, yes…if you didn’t have a migrate button then the events themselves shouldn’t actually be carried over. What happens if you just turn off 2.0 and revert to 1.6.5?
Rob
MemberThanks to everyone for their contributions. As Andrew notes, super exciting. Feel free to keep dropping feedback/questions in here and we’ll hit them as they come.

MemberHey again Joe. Regarding the first point: there is no way to have an indefinite recurring event, at this point. That may change down the road but for the time being you must have it end ON a specific date or AFTER a fixed number of recurrences.
You should be able to configure an event on the second Sunday of the month by using this criteria: http://cl.ly/1h203S44183L3U47321X. Or have I misunderstood the request here? Let me know if so.
Rob
MemberHey Joe, have you played around with the templating options available under Settings –> The Events Calendar? Seems they could help you integrate it more smoothly. There are a couple built into the plugin, and your theme likely has at least a couple of its own as well…
Let me know if that doesn’t do the trick.
Rob
MemberDo you want this in the grid view? If so, this isn’t doable out of the box…but let me see what our developer Jonah has to say regarding whether there’s a way to hack this together. He’ll chime in here directly.
Rob
MemberHey Geoff. Thanks for the note; sorry to hear you’re having issues. So you’re saying that even after unchecking the box, your events on the frontend show an embedded Google Map? That is bizarre and is not how the plugin should be behaving. Any chance you can send me a link to somewhere I can check this out? You don’t have another plugin active that’s automatically adding a map of its own, right?

MemberSent 🙂 Thanks!
Rob
MemberHi Bretta. I’m seeing the issue too; that may be a conflict with your theme, but let me see if our developer Jonah has any suggestions. He’ll chime in here directly.
Rob
MemberSorry to hear you’re having problems, Valerie. Any chance you can show us the code you used for that template override? I can get a developer to take a look from there.

MemberValerie: not yet, but a fix should be included in 2.0.2 (which we’re aiming to release later this week). Let me know if you’re still having issues upon upgrading.
Rob
MemberThanks for the heads up, Julien. This is a known bug – the fix should be included in 2.0.2. Please let me know if upon upgrading you’re not seeing that.
Rob
MemberThanks Kyle. I’m seeing the issue, yes – any chance this is a conflict with your theme? Would be interested to hear if this occurs when you revert to the default 2011 theme, and I can get our developer to take a look once we have an answer here.
Rob
MemberExcellent to hear this worked, Anthony. Please let us know if you need anything else going forward or have any other issues.
