MemberHey Bert. Thanks for the follow-up. You could certainly customize the plugin to add icons like that if you saw fit (as you can see by browsing our Showcase thread at https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/showcase-2-0/, other users have done similar things in the past). But it unfortunately isn’t a behavior that exists straight out of the box / is customizable directly from the WP backend.
That help? Let me know if not and I’ll adjust my response accordingly. Thanks again for your interest.
Rob
MemberThanks for confirming, Viktoria. Can you send me a screenshot of the issue you’re seeing re: Saturday/Sunday? Is this in the grid view or within an individual entry?
The explanation that we have in the tuts should be correct still, but I can’t be positive without seeing it. If you want to link me to the one you found (or just share the code) I can recreate it on my end and confirm whether it’s working or not.
Cheers!
Rob
MemberJim: thanks for the follow-up. I think this topic is a fine location for it (no need to create a new one), but I’m admittedly not the person best equipped to answer this. Jonah is in a better position to do so and I’ve asked him to directly. Stay tuned on that end and thanks for your patience / support thus far.
Rob
MemberHey there Christina. Thanks for the follow-up and my apologies for taking a couple of days to get you a response here.
I will definitely let you know if I hear anything else on this. If it continues to persist on your client site, and if they don’t mind me taking a look at the backend, feel free to shoot a set of creds over to pro /a/ tri.be with a link to this thread…and I can try to supplement what information I’ve already given to the team.
Rob
MemberSorry I couldn’t offer more, Shannon. We’ll get this taken care of one way or another.
Rob
MemberHeck yeah Jonah, thanks for sharing! Looks like we’re all set here but if you need anything else, Shannon, you know where to reach us.
May 22, 2012 at 12:24 pm in reply to: Recurring events causing content duplication – bad for SEO? #19556Rob
MemberHey Isaac. Thanks for the note here, and for reaching out. Generally the recurrence itself isn’t cause for concern from an SEO standpoint; we haven’t heard anyone raise that concern thus far and haven’t seen it as an issue for any of the client sites we’ve used this plugin on.
That being said, there is an issue where the indexing of many pages can cause concern. We’ve been working towards implementation an official fix but in the interim have provided some code that can work as a solution. The most relevant thread to review for that code would be this one: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/thousands-of-urls-for-every-future-date-possible-auto-generated-possible-bug/. For some background information on the issue, check out this slightly older thread: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/indexation-of-thousands-pages/.
If I understand the issue correctly, that should get you what you need. But let me know if you’re still having problems from there.
Rob
MemberThis is excellent to hear, Andy! Thanks for providing us with this solution here. We were just discussing this issue earlier today and the possibility that a fix may need to be pushed to our July release if we can’t figure it out in time for the June (2.0.7) build. With your note here that may change the tides…I’ve passed this on to our dev and if he can verify that it’ll work across the board by code freeze next week, we’ll try to include this in the next build. Thanks again for the tip.
Would also be interested to hear from Ben, Jeremy or Robbin as to whether this method has done the trick for them.
Rob
MemberHey Viktoria. Thanks for the note here; I just took a look at your site and I’m not seeing the skinny calendar, etc as described in the initial message from this thread. Can you elaborate on the concern, and we can try to get you a response from there?
Rob
MemberAh, gotcha. There are certain changes made to events that are always going to break them out of the recurrence pattern – changing the event name, for example. Could that be the cause here?
Rob
MemberMarty: mind sharing your solution for the above, so Debra can take advantage of it?
As for the wp_rewrite…I’m not familiar with this myself but I’ll ask the team and if one on our end has an idea here they’ll comment directly.
Rob
MemberThanks for the follow-up, Jim, and for your participation on this thread. I’ll watch for the other one where you mention getting into the broader conditionals aspect in another thread here on the forums…and please let us know if we can do anything else.
Rob
MemberHi there Shannon. Thanks for bringing this up; it does look like links (whether added directly or via HTML) are not working in the custom fields. This isn’t intentional and is more an oversight on our end…which thanks to you bringing to my attention, I’ve logged with the team accordingly.
No guarantees we’ll be able to fix it by ou 6/4 release but I’ve asked them to try. I’ll keep you posted once I know for sure, and my apologies for the inconvenience on it in the interim.

MemberThanks for the words, Shannon – your last note here made my day 🙂 We’re glad to help in any way we can and appreciate your use of the plugin more than we can say. If you need anything else down the road just let us know.
John, if you’re still having issues, please post here and I can keep looking into those too.
Rob
MemberHey Jim. I’ll let Jonah respond as to the new templates (as he’s better equipped to do so than I), but as for the notifications…we have been getting increasing reports of this lately and we were just able to verify it on our end as well. I’ve bumped up the priority and have a dev looking at it today or tomorrow…hopefully we can get the issue finalized/squared away this week. I apologize on behalf of the whole team for any inconvenience in the interim, though.
