MemberOk I understand now. The site is promoting just the festival so there’s nothing really between now and then correct, and if there is you want the focus to be on the first day of the event?
If that is the case, I’m going to have to ask a developer to give us a hand. If you can bare with my I should be able to get a reply to you that will point you in the right direction.
Thanks for taking the time to explain the scenario and I’ll get back to you ASAP.

MemberHi nicolapenacultural,
Sorry for the delay in getting back to you. We have been a little thin on the ground yesterday and today with some of our team at San Francisco Word Camp.
I’ve checked this on my end, and there are some changes that will have to be made to this, however I do want to be 100% sure that I’m giving you the best method to do this (and for any other users that come across this thread). So just bare with me a little longer and I’ll get this figured out for you.
Thanks for your patience.

MemberHi Nicolaepenacultural
Thanks for you comment and we’d be happy to help you with this.
Yes there certainly is a way to increase the the space between 2 events on your calendar. The Events Calendar, in general, inherits from your own style. But of course sometimes there are conflicts. I would double check which of the styles you are currently running in Events>Settings> Display and check what is selected in the Default stylesheet used for events templates. I think I can see from your site that you are running the full stylesheet – which rely’s heavily on you own style.
From here I’d read up on the article about customizing your style: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/events-calendar-themers-guide/#customizingstyles
in the full style I’d recommend you have a look at the class: h3.tribe-events-month-event-title. You may be able to add some code in there to increase the separation between two events.
Hopefully that will point you in the right direction. If not let us know and we’ll be happy to dig a little deeper for you.

MemberHi Mariawriter,
Thanks for your comment. We’d be happy to point you in the right direction. I just took a look through the URL you provided to try and find an example of this type of page but I didn’t come across it. Do you have a URL with an example so I can get an idea of what you want?
Neill
MemberHi Ali,
I believe all those args are correct. The only one that might need an update is ‘showposts’ – try changing that to ‘post_per_page’.
After you’ve tried that I would then double check all the values passed to that array. Try outputting each one of them so that you know exactly what values are being passed into the function below. Once we know that we may be able to pinpoint whats going on a little better.

MemberWell if you can let us know what Event Template option is being used and maybe even copy and paste the page.php of that template via http://snippi.com/ then we may be able to look through that to begin with and make a few suggestions.

MemberHey Cynthia,
Ok Well lets try to get to the bottom of this today, I’m sure you’d be happy to get this resolved asap.
Can you tell me what template you are using for the Events Calendar? I’m sure you know where to check this, but just in case: Events > Settings > Display and check what drop down is selected in the Events Template field.
If you are using something other then the Default Events Template then let us know what is selected. Then maybe you can send us a snippet of the page.php of the template you are using. One step further then that, if possible, would be to send us a .zip of the whole template, that we we can install it on our end and get an idea whats going on. If you .zip the template then maybe drop us a private link to it via dropbox or another service.
I’ll be around most of the day and should be able to get some help working through this, I’d love to get to the bottom of this before the end of the day for you, so you have it fixed for the weekend.
Thanks Cynthia

MemberHi Joemac41
Thanks for the message. I think I understand what you are looking for but can you just confirm the URL’s are correct above? They both seem to load as the same page and I’m not seeing a homepage with a slider on your site yet. I just want to make sure I’m giving you the right solution. Thanks!

Thanks for dropping us a line. You have a beautifully designed site!
Would it be possible to give us an example of your scenario above? I’m not sure I understand exactly what it is you are looking for.

MemberHi Grant,
Thanks so much for the detailed description of your issue and the screencast. Makes it a lot easier to figure this issue out for you. Sorry your having this issue, so lets try get to the bottom of it.
The first thing I did was follow up on your hunch of it being a javascript issue as you seemed to have covered all the other bases correctly. I switched off javascricpt in chrome and the calendar seemed to work correctly.
If that is the case I’m wondering if the issue is with a javascript file conflict in the theme file, since you mentioned you de-activated all the plugins. One way to test this would be to switch to a default theme like twenty twelve.
I’d recommend that first. If the calendar works correctly at that stage I’d then revert to the correct theme and see if you can isolate what script is knocking the calendar. Let us know if you need any help getting to this point. When we know what the exact cause is we can point you in the right direction of getting it fixed.

MemberHi Isgdesserts
You have a great looking site! Not at all bad for your first WP site. Welcome to the community!
I think this tutorial should be able to help you out: https://theeventscalendar.com/alter-or-remove-heading/
It still requires a little bit of knowledge of how WP is set up which you may have already got figured out if you have come this far. If you are new to WP it might be a good idea to do a little research on backing up your site before making any changes. Let us know if there are any pointers we can give you after reading through the tutorial.

MemberCynthia have you upgraded to 3.02 yet? Take a look at the Blog post to see whats fixed. I’m not seeing anything that looks like this issue, but lets give that a go. Now that you confirmed the plugins are not knocking anything out I’ll see if we can get some help from a developer to pinpoint the issue. In the mean time try the new release and let me know what happens.
