Just wanted to give you an update on this one. We have a release scheduled for this week and as Kelly and Rob mentioned, this particular issue passed QA and I can confirm it is in this release.
I will close this ticket out, but please feel free to open another ticket if you find the update has not solved your issue and we’ll take it from there.
Thanks for all your feedback, info and your patience so far, all of which help us with our process.

MemberHey Thomas I’m going to go ahead and close this out as it seem like you’re all se here. For the sake of any other forum peeps – here’s the response Thomas got from the theme author for Karma:
Add the following line to your functions.php file.
add_theme_support( 'post-thumbnails' );Neill
MemberHey Thomas, you figured it out? Are we all set here then? Looks like that piece of code should sort you out?
Neill
MemberIf that option doesn’t exist in the screen option then I think we’ve landed on the issue. Thanks again for the update. This might be handy to know for future users with this theme. If its ok with you I’ll leave this ticket open for a few days, and if you get a response and feel like filing us in on what they said that would be great!
Good Luck!

MemberHi Thomas,
Ok one thing I’d like to confirm: Have you checked that the Featured Image option is switched on in the screen options at the top of the page? http://d.pr/i/2C9N – in this screen shot its the last checkbox. I have a feeling its not the issue, but good to rule that out.
I also spoke with a one of the guys on the team that has some experience with themes like these. Some themes like this seem to switch off the featured image option for posts outside of what they consider a blog post. Since this is not our code to play with, I would suggest contacting the themes author first and ask if there is a way to switch this functionality back on, or show you how to add it back? I believe this is the link to their support forum: https://support.truethemes.net/
Thanks Thomas,
NeillNeill
MemberGreat! – Thanks for taking the time to confirm this Thomas – makes our job a lot easier. I will get with a developer about this and see if we can get to the bottom of it. Hang tight and I’ll get back to you asap.

MemberHi Thomas,
So are you saying that the Featured Image field on the back end like here in the screenshot: http://d.pr/i/msCf?
If so can we go back and change the theme again to a default theme and see if that option then appears. If it does, try adding a image at that point and see if the featured image works at that point. If we can determine that the issue is the theme and the plugin not playing well together, then I can take it a step further with one of the developers and see if we can find a workaround or something to point you in the right direction.

MemberHi Ebrahim – Khalil,
I’m glad you got to the bottom of most of your issues, and sorry that there was a misunderstanding with regards to the Pro and Free versions of the plugin. We do try our very best to have this plugin work with as many plugins and themes as possible, but with varying standards from other authors and publishers its very hard to guarantee that across the board. Either way if our support team will help in such a case an offer what ever support we can at that time.
It seems like from your post that you have decided to go with another plugin, and that you have realized that the original issue in play here was a result of not having the correct version of the plugin running in this case. I’ll go ahead and close this ticket, but if any of these other issues you have mentioned above crop up again, and you upgrade to the Pro plugin for this project, please feel free to start a new thread and we’ll be happy to jump in and give what ever issue you have a lash.

MemberThomas,
From what I can see here in the code, your theme is not treating the image as a featured image: http://d.pr/i/x3jhIn that screenshot you can see the featured image tag in green – and then it moves on to the content. The content is the adding your image as part of the post.
I’m going to have a developer take a look at this and see if there is anything that they can determine.
One thing I would like to confirm how does this theme allow you to add a featured image? Do each of the posts have a field like this: http://d.pr/i/q9Cc? Sorry to ask but its good to get all the simple questions out of the way first 😉

MemberHi Thomas,
Just to confirm, the images you have added to this post: http://northwestresponse.com/courses/online-cpr-first-aid-aed-professional-healthcare-first-responders-1207/ are featured images?

MemberHi Thomas,
Thanks for your note and for looking through the forums to see if there was any relevant info to help you in your particular case.
Just a few details that can help us dig a little deeper for you. First of all have you tried deactivating your theme and see if the featured images work in something like WP’s twenty thirteen or twenty twelve? If not I’d suggest that first and foremost, as it will narrow down the scope of where to look for the issue.
After that can you give us a URL of an event that has a featured image in use? Or maybe all of them already do, but knowing that would be valuable.
Also do you have a test environment for this site to work with? We just released 3.1 of this plugin and it would be great to check and see if an upgrade helps the situation, but I don’t want to push you into that until you are ready, so a test environment would be a great option for that.
Let me know what you find when reverting to a default plugin and we’ll take it from there.
