Leah
MemberDamn, I think the Filters Bar isn’t working without PRO! I tried installing it on a clean site with just The Events Calendar and got a Server Error when trying to see the Settings and Help Pages.
I’m going to bring this to our devs attention ASAP so hopefully we can get you a new version that will work. I really appreciate you reporting this issue. I’m glad we have some beta testers using The Events Calendar without PRO!

MemberActually shimatorabi, I’m going to close this thread. Please add your experience to the existing thread for this topic: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/showhide-advanced-filters/

MemberHi Adam,
Thanks for reporting the backwards logic, and for the screencast. We’ve had a couple reports of this now, but I haven’t been able to recreate it. Did this happen when you first installed and activated the plugin? Did it fix itself after use? Any other detail would be great so I can recreate it.
I definitely get your point about the filters open on default. We closed them to deal with a different issue, but since we’ve already had multiple people want them open we will look into that further.

MemberThanks Greg! I’m embarrassed I didn’t catch this during QA.
It looks like right now the Organizer and Venue are displaying in the order they were created, which isn’t terribly useful to anyone.
I’ve logged this in our system. At the very least, I’d like to see the options all showing in alphabetical order on the front end.

MemberGood point! I’m going to check in with the dev behind the filters and see if he had a specific reason for leaving all that padding.

MemberHi shimatorabi,
I wasn’t able to recreate this issue. Can you provide some more details and some screenshots?
Thanks,

MemberHi Mike,
We don’t have an exact release date, but we are working hard on the release and hope to have it our soon for you. If you’d like to discuss a renewal discount, please email me at pro (at) tri.be and reference this thread. Thanks!

MemberHi sambellerose,
We actually do already have a complete French translation for The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO. However, many of the words we use (especially thing like week and month names) are actually translated by WordPress, not our plugin specifically. To get the day names in the widget in French, you’ll need to download the French WordPress files and follow the instructions from this page.
If you follow those instructions, the week day names at the top of the calendar should show properly (as well as the month name). You may still see the English version in the listed events below the calendar (if you have them set to show) but we are working to correct that in an upcoming version.
If you need any help, just let me know and I’d be happy to assist.

MemberHi hrnorge,
Thanks for confirming. I’m wondering if maybe whether that theme does something particular to the content loops that conflicts with our setting? I think the best course of action would be for you to get in touch with Solostream to see if they can shed some light on the issue. Of course, if they feel the issue is with our code we’d be happy to open a dialogue. But I think they’re going to be your best resource for a resolution here. Let me know how that goes, and good luck!

MemberHey colinwood,
Generally the /events/ page will take you to whatever you Default View is. So for your settings that page is the Month View, while /events/upcoming is List View. If List View was set as default that’s what would show at /events/.
Aside from whatever is default, you can link specifically to any (enabled) View with the following:
/events/month/ – Month View
/events/upcoming/ – List View
/events/week/ – Week View
/events/today/ – Day View
/events/map/ – Map View
/events/photo/ – Photo View
(The above assumes that your Events URL slug is events.)Does that answer your question?

MemberHi acmt85,
Thank you for sending those along. I believe you’re running into the same problem as the folk in this thread. If you scroll down to the bottom you’ll see that one of our developers provided a snippet to rectify the issue. Please try adding that to your functions.php file and see if that corrects the problem.
Also, I recommend that you change your single event slug so that it is singular and not identical to the Events URL slug (http://d.pr/i/9u1i). Something like “event” would be better.

MemberHi alzbetkai,
I’m curious how you got the sk_SK translation for our plugin since it’s not one of our available languages. It may be that the file is old and incomplete, especially since the release of Events 3.0 really changed the .pot file. We’d love to have you create an updated version. Check out this page for more info.
I’m not familiar with the WooSidebars widget, but this is something that we might be able to look into further. Would you mind starting another thread for just that issue? That will help us stay organized and get you the help you need. It would also be helpful if you could share the plugin you’re using- is that possible? You can email a .zip to pro (at) tri.be.
I think I misunderstood the issue originally so thank you for clarifying. I believe you’re running into the same problem as the folk in this thread. If you scroll down to the bottom you’ll see that one of our developers provided a snippet to rectify the issue. Please try adding that to your functions.php file and see if that corrects the problem.

MemberHi materdeiknights, I just wanted to check in here and see if you got a chance to check out the plugin Andy recommended?

Memberany tips on how to add a drop down month selector to make navigation easier ?
Hmm, not really, although you might try searching the forums to see if someone else made one. There’s a month datepicker that shows when you’re on Calendar View, but as you know it defaults to the other option on List View. You might just try making your Events Per Page setting a large number (like 30). That way when someone selects a date, say, 9/3/2013, they’ll see the 30 upcoming events on or after that date- which might cover a full month of events for you, although it wouldn’t be exact.
I don’t want to set list view as the default for the events page so I was thinking of adding an instruction about this issue to the top of the page – any tips on how to go about this ?
Under Events –> Settings on the Display tab there are two text boxes for Add HTML Before Calendar and Add HTML After Calendar. You could add a note in the Before box and it would display above the Event Bar. Does that help?
