MemberHi alfemand,
Thanks for posting. Sometimes translations are outdated, which results in English showing through. If you can tell me what translation you’re using, I can tell you when it was last updated. I’d love to have you do the update, and I can give you a free license for the plugin in exchange!
Another factor is that some elements of the calendar are translated by WordPress itself and not via our plugin translations. This means that if you do not have the WordPress translation files loaded for your language you will see some untranslated words in your calendar, even with your language set in wp-config. To fix this, you’ll need to download and install WordPress for your language. Then the Day View (and other Views) should be fully translated.

MemberHi Aljosa,
I’d love to have you do a Slovenian translation of The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO. Check out our Getting Started post for instructions and files. You can then post the finished files here. Thanks for helping out!

January 17, 2014 at 10:47 am in reply to: Will I be able to embed a month calendar view on my homepage? #94096Leah
MemberHi Kathy,
Thanks for posting! Events Calendar PRO comes with a number of cool widgets, including a Mini Calendar that you can add to any widget area. You can see an example and read more about our widgets on this page. It’s not exactly 4×4, but that might definitely fit your needs.
Our plugin does not use shortcodes, so it’s not possible to add the calendar to your homepage except by use of the widget. Does that answer your question?

MemberHi gormik,
Thanks for the info! Because the translation is a little outdated, the Time string is not in the .po file and not getting translated. Happily I have a new translation from one of our volunteers, and using that will show that string correctly translated.
The new translation will be automatically included in our upcoming maintenance release, so if you don’t mind waiting a bit you’ll be able to update and get it. If you need it now, you can download the new files here and here and put them in your /lang file for The Events Calendar (replacing the current ones). That should show the string properly translated, as well as a few others that were previously missing.
Let me know if you need any help or if there’s anything else I can do for you 🙂

Leah
