ParticipantHey Allyson,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
This definitely looks like a strange issue to be having. A couple of questions that may help us to get to the bottom of this one:
- Have you tried deactivating other plugins and switching to a default theme according to our Testing for Conflicts procedures to ensure there isn’t a conflict with existing code on the site?
- Can you verify that you’re using the latest versions of all of the Events Calendar plugins on the site. We’ve had a couple of updates come out recently.
- When reviewing the Event Categories from the dashboard of your site do you see the category terms displaying there?
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Hugh,
Try formatting the URLs like:
http://www.nlpworks.com/checkout/?add_to_cart=1768
and see if that does what you’re looking for.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Courtney,
Sorry about that. The previous code targeted the list view. I’ve updated the code so it’ll change for all views.

ParticipantHey Sebastien,
Thanks for following up. It’s best to leave it at just the 6 if those are the only ones on the list that don’t have the restrictions. Due to the Facebook API limitations, you’ll never be able to import the events from those other restricted pages using our plugin.
That being said though, there should be proper warnings displaying when attempting to import. Have you tried turning on WP_Debug or checking debug logs when the screen does go to a white screen? Having WP_Debug turned on may provide additional information for why the typical error messages aren’t getting displayed there.
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Glenn,
There could be an initial issue with checks since those events are typically set using WP-Cron. WP-Cron is a bit different than a regular cron since it only gets triggered when there is activity such as a visitor hitting the site. However, the speeding up of the site when you’re on it clicking around may be more due to your browser caching the content rather than anything else.
A couple of questions:
- Do you notice your events pages loading slower than the rest of your site?
- Have you tried activating the new month view cache under the Events > Settings > Display tab? This may help to speed up that page without having to mess with a third party caching plugin.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Lauren,
Thanks for that! I’ve received the email and will be using that information to do some further tests.
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Kevin,
No problem! Happy to help.
I’ll go ahead and close this thread for now. If you have any further questions, please don’t hesitate to open a new thread.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Hugh,
It sounds like the first part of the problem is the new location of the tickets with the Avada theme. You can move the tickets on that page by following this tutorial for moving that ticket form.
You could also create your own button for adding a product to the cart using a specific URL. You can read a bit more about how to setup those URLs here.
Let me know if this helps.
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Courtney,
That’s definitely understandable and looking at the template now it looks like the list view already uses the “Events from” title for the date section. You can use the following snippet to update that label to be the “Starting Date” label that you suggested.

ParticipantHey Lauren,
Thanks for reaching out to us!
I took a look at your site and I can see the issue you’re describing. I just tested out some events on my staging site trying different strategies trying to get them to display out of order but was unable to replicate the issue. Would it be possible for you to send me a database dump with a month’s worth of events in it to support[at]theeventscalendar.com so I can do a little further testing with your current events?
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Kevin,
I’m glad you were able to find the needed information! To help out with updates to the plugin though, it’s best to copy your now customized “custom.php” file into your theme at “wp-content/your-theme/tribe-events/community/modules/custom.php”.
This will allow your customizations to persist even after updating the plugin.
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey,
No problem. I’m glad you were able to find the root issue here.
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Ollie,
I’m not sure I’m following this note “and then the customer would click on the date? Like in the standard Woo Commerce plugin?” are you referring to something like the WooCommerce Bookings plugin? http://www.woothemes.com/products/woocommerce-bookings/
Also, we do offer free plugins for Non-Profits. You can checkout the FAQs on this here https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/do-you-offer-discounts-for-non-profit-organizations/
Thanks!
Josh
ParticipantHey Sebastien,
That definitely sounds like a strange issue to be having. I wasn’t able to reproduce, however if you remove the pages from the list that have the stated problem with the age restriction does the issue with the white screen and loading persist?
Thanks!
