Event Categories Disappeared on Add/Modify Event

I just went in to add an event and noticed that the Event Category field is there, but the actual categories have disappeared. The same has happened for Modify Event as shown below…

Thanks for reaching out to us!

This definitely looks like a strange issue to be having. A couple of questions that may help us to get to the bottom of this one:

1. Have you tried deactivating other plugins and switching to a default theme according to our Testing for Conflicts procedures to ensure there isn’t a conflict with existing code on the site?
2. Can you verify that you’re using the latest versions of all of the Events Calendar plugins on the site. We’ve had a couple of updates come out recently.
3. When reviewing the Event Categories from the dashboard of your site do you see the category terms displaying there?

To add the text to just the event submission and edit screens, you can add the following snippet to your theme’s functions.php file.
