ModeratorHey Tom,
I understand your frustration, but I’ve never added a custom view myself, so without knowing where to begin and not being permitted to provide customizations, the best advice I can offer is essentially what I provided in my initial response.
The best route is to inspect the code and use the actions/hooks in place to code it, which certainly is not an easy task. If the view you are trying to make is similar to an existing one, I’d say modifying via template override the way to go. After we release 4.5, new views will be much easier. For now, they are admittedly more complicated than they should be.
One last option is to use our Agenda view as an example, though it’s fairly dated at this point. Again, my apologies I don’t have more information available and good luck.

ModeratorHey Mike,
So I went ahead and spun up a fresh WP install using the Twenty Seventeen theme and The Events Calendar. I created 8 scheduled imports to run every 30 minutes with the status set to ‘Publish’. The initial import went just fine, but the scheduled imports did in fact fail.
I’m really not sure what to think here other than the plugin is being overwhelmed by either the amount of imports scheduled, the length in between scheduled imports, or the amount of events attached to the source calendars. I highly doubt Google is throttling or limiting the imports, though anything is a possibility.
I’ve gone ahead and created a bug report and added this forum thread to the ticket which helps expedite the process of getting a fix included in an upcoming release. I don’t have a precise date when it will be available, but please stay tuned to our Release Notes and the plugin changelogs for more information.
The only solution I can think of would be to add time between each import to see if that makes a difference. Doing so shouldn’t require setting up any custom crons. Please give it a shot and let me know it it works out.
I understand this situation is not ideal and it’s disappointing the plugin is for some reason not handling heavy loads. Thanks again and let me know if you’ve got any additional questions or comments. Cheers!

ModeratorHi and sorry to see you’ve run into troubles. We are unfortunately unable to provide support for conflicts with themes/authors by other plugins. For what we are able to support, please review our What support is provided for license holders? Knowledgebase article.
The best place to start is by enabling WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG on your site’s wp-config.php file. Any errors will display at the top of your page as you try to reproduce the conflict. You can also use your browser’s ‘Inspect’ tool to see if any errors display in the console.
Sorry we can’t do more in this situation and best of luck resolving the conflict. Cheers!

ModeratorHi and welcome back,
Before posting to the forums, we ask that you review our Testing for conflicts guide. It is a required step to receive support and by doing so prior to creating the thread saves time and helps identify the conflict so we have a better idea on how to resolve it.
Please make sure WP_DEBUG and WP_DEBUG_LOG are enabled on your site’s wp-config.php file. Any errors will display at the top of your page as you try to reproduce the conflict. I also recommend using your browser’s ‘Inspect’ tool to see if any errors display in the console. Note what you find and please include it in your reply.
Lastly, can you send over your System Information as a private reply? Thanks and take care!

ModeratorHello and welcome back 🙂
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts on how recurring events can be improved. The best place to submit requests of these nature is by visiting our UserVoice Feature Ideas.
Before I attempt to reproduce the behavior and investigate for potential alternatives, can you please review our Testing for conflicts guide and reply back with your findings? This help to eliminate the potential of a theme and/or plugin conflict and is a required step to continue receiving support.
Lastly, please review our PRO Recurring Events Knowledgebase article. It’s worth reading and relevant in this situation. It was just updated within the past 24-48 hours with detailed instructions. Please keep me updated and take care!

ModeratorHey Chris,
We typically don’t make these kinds of exceptions, but I went ahead and extended your license by 1 week to give you enough time to test the new features. Hopefully everything works in your favor and best of luck. Cheers!

ModeratorHey Kam,
There are plugins available in the WordPress repository that can help alter the information you’re referring to. I believe Easy WP SMTP might do the trick, so give it a shot and let me know how it works out. You might also want to do some general Google searches on altering WordPress emails.
Another recommendation is to review this article on WooCommerce’s template documentation. The order confirmation email is contained in WooCommerce rather than our plugins.
The ticket email can be modified by:
- Create a copy of the template. It is located in /event-tickets/src/views/tickets/email.php
- Make a new folder in your theme called tribe-events
- Make a new folder in that one called tickets
- Add the copied email.php file to that last folder
Now that the template is in your theme, you can modify it to suit your needs and the changes will be reflected. Please refer to our Themer’s Guide for more information. If you’re a visual learner, this Customizing WordPress #1 – How To Create A Child Theme by LevelUpTuts YouTube video might help.
I know this all seems insurmountable, but rest assured it’s fairly simple and just takes a little practice. Let me know how things work out and best of luck. Cheers!
