ParticipantHey Brian,
Don’t mean to bombard you with updates here, just wanted to confirm that this is indeed a bug. We’re getting a solution figured out and have made this an official bug for us to fix, yet we’ll also be deprecating this function anyway in the next major release in accordance with some updates and improvements to the “Week” view.
Thanks,
George

ParticipantHey Brian,
One of our support wizards, Barry, spotted what looks to be a bug here with this function β we’re really sorry about that, if we confirm it’s a bug. There’s an official update coming next week, so unfortunately a fix for this probably won’t make it into that release, but we’ll get a fix into the codebase as soon as possible. I’ll update you here when we make the release publicly available.
Sorry for the frustrations around this, but it’s really helpful to find this bug and we appreciate you bringing it to our attention. Stay tuned! π
Thanks,

ParticipantHey Toby,
In your comment here where you mention that “the query works now (the day after)”, do you mean that the last event that was posted is now correctly not showing up in your “upcoming” queries? But if you have another event that passes, does the query still take a day do update?
Just want to be certain I clearly understand what you mean. I’m curious, do you have any caching configuration on your web server or anything that you know of? Also, even though you’ve tried deactivating your plugins, can you list what all of those plugins are? And just to be clear, have you literally tried deactivating every other plugin? And if so, did you notice any difference with this issue?
Thanks for your patience!

December 5, 2014 at 7:39 am in reply to: Events Calendar Pro – Is this suitable for my project #908905George
ParticipantHey Amber,
No worries, we’re glad to be here and answer questions about the products.
If you want to use WooCommerce Tickets, you have to buy that as a separate license and product hereΒ β https://theeventscalendar.com/shop/wordpress-wootickets/
However, note that you do not have to buy Events Calendar PRO to use WooCommerce Tickets in the first place. You can keep using the free version of Events Calendar and just add the WooCommerce Tickets functionality.
As for a demo of the plugin, you can see our official demo site here β http://wpshindig.com/events/
That site uses a custom theme, but in general, you shouldn’t need a WooCommerce-specific theme to use the WooCommerce Tickets extension. That depends on the functionality and aesthetic you’re going for, and you should look up themes from the WooCommerce website and online if you’re curious about them, but the only requirements for Events Calendar and WooCommerce Tickets are WooCommerce itself, and a theme that follows the WordPress coding standards and has valid HTML markup.
Let me know if anything I described here wasn’t very clear, or if you have any other questions or concerns! π
Thanks,
GeorgeDecember 5, 2014 at 7:32 am in reply to: Events Calendar Pro – Is this suitable for my project #908890George
ParticipantHey Kevin,
Sounds like an interesting project β to be honest, however, I wouldn’t simply say “yes, this is the best thing for your project” or sign off on you being able to build out each of these features.
I’d recommend doing all of the same things I recommended to Amber above β take some time with that New User Primer I linked to, look at some of the other documentation around here, etc., to really get a better feel for the products.
For example, Events Calendar comes with “Venues”, specific locations for events that you can reuse. So that sounds like something you could use for the 15 training locations you mentioned, but I’m not 100% certain about what you mean by “marrying” all these features and such. Definitely explore our resources here and feel free to ask some more specific questions.
However, please open a new thread to ask these questions β no worries about posting here for now, but try to open new threads in the future for any comments or issues you have with your site.
Thanks β I’ll keep my eye out for another thread with specific questions you might have π

ParticipantThanks for clarifying that Brian! Stay tuned for an update on this issue, we’re working to have a solution or some insight on this for you soon.
Thanks for your patience,

ParticipantHey Rob,
What was the bug you were investigating earlier, if you don’t mind sharing that information? Just curious, that might be relevant here.
Also, do you happen to have any Pages in your admin that are named Events? Or even that once were named Events? If so, I’d recommend wholly deleting this page β that means moving it to Trash, but then additionally going to the Trash and clicking “Delete Permanently”.
Let me know if you find any such pages and if deleting them helps!

ParticipantHey Toby,
Sorry you’re having troubles here. You mention “the upcoming events plugin” in your post here β can you clarify exactly what you mean by this? If you can link to this plugin just so we know precisely what you mean, that would be very helpful.
As for your custom queries, can you post all of them, unedited or modified, into Gists at http://gist.github.com? Then, share links to these Gists so we can look at your code in detail. There could be something there at play here, and if not, it’s worth definitively ruling out.
Finally, for now: what timezone is your WordPress site set to? You can see this in Settings β General in your admin.
Thanks,

ParticipantHi Amber,
There’s indeed a WooCommerce Tickets add-on for Events Calendar that lets you sell “tickets”, which are basically just WooCommerce “products” linked to specific events in your Events Calendar. You can learn more about this add-on here β https://theeventscalendar.com/shop/wordpress-wootickets/
That can enable some pretty robust Ticketing functionality on your site. For example, it seems like you could create different tickets for each tour package β people use our Ticketing functionality for “Tiered” ticketing / event access quite often.
Before signing off and simply saying “Yes, this will do what you need”, I’dΒ highly recommend that you check out the WooCommerce Tickets add-on’s “New User Primer”. You can find it here β https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/wootickets-new-user-primer/
That primer includes some simple documentation, including helpful short screencasts, which should give you a significantly better understanding of how our events and ticketing systems work together. Take a look and let us know if you have any specific questions that pop up while you’re researching.
Thanks π

ParticipantHey Peter,
Sorry you lost this ability, Quick Edit is indeed quite convenient sometimes. I still have it working fine on my own installation of 3.8.1, so I’m curious about your site: what other plugins do you have installed? I see that you marked that you tried deactivating all these plugins β did you do that thoroughly? If so, did you notice any difference?
And just to be 100% clear: you’re talking about the “Quick Edit” functionality in the main Events list column in the admin, right? This is where you’re brought if you click the main “Events” link in the admin sidebar, with the calendar icon β it should lead to /edit.php?post_type=tribe_events in your admin.

GeorgeDecember 4, 2014 at 6:23 am in reply to: Catagories and Tag not returning proper search results #907554George
ParticipantHey Cary,
No worries! Thanks for specifying what you meant, as this changes the scope of the issue pretty significantly.
The problem seems to be only with your post tags and categories β oddly enough, your event category archives are working fine, e.g http://www.livingfla.com/events/category/community-events/, but normal post tag or category archives are blank, like this “non-profit” tagΒ βΒ http://www.livingfla.com/tag/non-profit/…
Did these post tag and category archives work fine before you installed Events Calendar, or PRO or one of the add-ons?
Also, I’m curious if maybe there’s an issue with your theme here. I’d recommend activating a default theme like Twenty Thirteen or Twenty Fourteen and then seeing if the tag and category archives work any differently.
Let us know what you find!

ParticipantHello,
The horizontal grid there seems to be a custom-coded solution for that website’s theme. While in-depth code customization help is outside the scope of the support we can provide here, there’s a function called tribe_get_events() that should make querying for upcoming events somewhere in your theme β like a custom homepage template β quite simple. Learn more about that function here β http://docs.tri.be/Events-Calendar/function-tribe_get_events.html
Our tutorials might have some helpful information, as well. You can check them all out here, and for example, this tutorial article covers how to use that tribe_get_events() function in depth β https://theeventscalendar.com/queries-and-pagination/
Let us know if this helps! π

ParticipantHey Brian,
I’ve indeed posted a more detailed solution with some Custom CSS over in your original thread β https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/problems-with-time-range-in-week-view/
I’ll close up this thread just to keep things organized, but definitely give that other thread a look and let us know if the suggested CSS helps you get started with your customizations.Cheers,
George
