ParticipantHey Bill,
I’m not quite sure what your last reply is asking, but the function
events_rss2_namespace()is not a function from anywhere in any Modern Tribe plugin. For issues related to FeedPress or other plugins on your site, your best bet is to contact customer support for those specific products.
Since we’ve resolved some of your original questions here, I’m going to go ahead and close this ticket for now. If you have other issues that pop up and are directly because of The Events Calendar or Events PRO itself, don’t hesitate to come back and open up a new ticket.
Thanks,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey Varga,
Thanks for your patience with this issue and for sharing that information – I’m curious, are these rewrite rules something you added yourself? You mention being on a “small shared server” – is there a server administrator or support team you can contact in regards to this issue? If you share the link to this support issue, they may be able to provide insight on whether or not those rules are affecting your Month View AJAX pagination. They may also be able to temporarily disable these rules or something for debugging purposes, which might be helpful for this issue.
Let us know if they can offer any help here. Thanks Varga.

ParticipantHey Roland,
I cannot believe I didn’t ask this earlier, and am sorry I haven’t – do you indeed have events in the future months you’re trying to navigate to? If not, then by default the “Next” button will not show up.
Gerald, if you see this – what about you?
I’m sorry I didn’t ask this question earlier, sometimes the most obvious things slip your mind. Thank you both for your patience with this issue.

ParticipantHey Varga,
You can reactivate the datepicker for now, I thought there would be something about the functionality itself that was fixed – but what’s actually happening is that the Events JavaScript is being broken when you remove the datepicker.
This causes the JavaScript loading of previous and next months to stop altogether, just linking directly to the months instead of pulling them in via AJAX…
I’m very sorry for how long this issue has gone on here, it’s just an odd one whose source I still do not understand. At this point, I’m going to reach out a bit more thoroughly to other members of the development team here at Modern Tribe to try and see if we can figure something out.
I’m curious, for the sake of resolving this issue, is there <b>no</b> way you can leave your site with a default theme like Twenty Twelve active on your site, with all plugins except The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO deactivated? I know your site is public, so no worries if this is truly not feasible. But I promise you I can check on your site in under 24 hours, almost certainly under 12, so it wouldn’t be up long. I just want to verify that things are still broken in that state.
Thanks so much for your patience Varga, we really appreciate it!

ParticipantHey Roland,
Thanks for sharing that information and code above, I’m sorry that I have not seen your replies until just now.
I’m curious, if you temporarily comment out or disable those filters you’ve added in your functions.php file, does anything change with the CSS class issue here?
Gerald: sorry you’re having a similar problem. Can you open up a new separate ticket here on the site, and elaborate on your exact issues? Share a URL to the site you’re having the problem with, let us know if you’ve tried deactivating other plugins and/or activating a default theme and if that had any impact on things, etc. That will help us keep things organized and hopefully get you resolution more quickly.
Thanks!

ParticipantHey Richard,
I unfortunately was not able to log in with the information you provided, and the captcha wouldn’t let me pass no matter what I entered. But I’m curious about your site – if simply deactivating some plugins completely broke your site, that could hint at some deeper issues here than something just with The Events Calendar.
When you mention the site is “broken”, can you elaborate on that? Are you seeing an PHP errors in your admin? If so, paste them into a Gist at http://gist.github.com and share a link to that Gist here.
As for your site itself, when I went to http://myradioplace.com/ there are still plugins and a non-default theme active, so it’s hard to say what the source of the problem is. It’s almost certain at this point that the source of your issues with adding new events is not something wrong with The Events Calendar itself, but a conflict from another plugin or your theme, or something breaking within your WordPress installation itself.
Thank you for your patience with this issue, and I’m sorry about the inconveniences that have come with deactivating plugins. Let us know about some of the questions I asked above and we can go from there, hopefully we can provide insight into the source of these conflicts and get things moving towards a resolution.
Thanks,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey Varga,
You mention disabling that datepicker script –– when I went to your site, this datepicker script was still being loaded, and the monthly navigation issues were still present.
If you’re unable to activate default theme, would you be able to at least try deactivating that datepicker script? If the month nav works with this script disabled, we can take a closer look at things in this state and try to learn about what’s different with the datepicker deactivated.
Let me know if this is possible,
GeorgGeorge
ParticipantHey Richard,
Thanks for taking the time to go through that step and share what you found – I’m curious, if you left your site in this state with every other plugin deactivated, and then took the extra step of activating a default theme like Twenty Fifteen/Fourteen/Thirteen, do your admin issues persist?
If even with every plugin deactivated except the Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO, and a default theme activated on your site, your issues still persist, would you be comfortable sharing some admin login information so we can log in and look around directly? That may help to reveal more about the issue here. If you’re comfortable with this, just be sure to make sure you check the “Set as private reply” button before posting your login info! 🙂
Thanks for your patience,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHello,
There are two ways I can think of going about making this customization – the first one is complicated, and would require making a custom event view to remove the actual link element around the Venue name.
If you’re interested in this, definitely check out our Themer’s Guide here → https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/themers-guide/
A simpler solution would be to just use some custom CSS to disable the “link” functionality, while preserving the HTML itself (and thus, the blue color being applied to it). Here’s an example of doing that:
body.events-list .tribe-events-venue-details span a { pointer-events: none !important; cursor: default !important; }That CSS is pretty specific, just so that other venue links in your other events templates aren’t affected, but play around with this to suit your needs.
Cheers,
George-

ParticipantHey there,
When you describe a hyperlink to a venue, is this an example of one of the URLs?
https://expatclub.org/venue/audi-brussels/
I found that link by clicking on the link I pointed out in this screenshot, is this what you’re referencing? → http://i.imgur.com/043zAxq.png
Apologies if I’m incorrect about what link you mean, I just want to make sure I understand your issue clearly so we can help you out. If I’m wrong, please describe exactly what links you mean in more detail, I’ll give it another try 🙂
Thanks,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey Martin,
Thank you for the login information, I logged in to verify and indeed was not able to find that option – even though it seems like both The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO are both active…
Hm, that’s pretty odd.
There a handful of things I can think of off the top of my head that cause a weird issue like this, but before investigating any of these ideas, it’s important to first rule out the possibility of a plugin conflict on your site.
To that, leave The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO active the whole time, and then deactivate every other plugin on your site one-by-one.
After each deactivation, check on the Events > Settings > Display panel again, and see if this option is there.
If you get all the way to the point that The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO are literally the only plugins active on your site, two things: first, thank you for following through with troubleshooting that thoroughly 🙂 Second, leave your site in this state, and head to your site’s wp-config.php file. Once there, change this line of code:
define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, false );
to this:
define( ‘WP_DEBUG’, true );
That will display PHP errors on your site if any exist, which might help here.
Sorry for this added issue here Martin, hopefully we can resolve it soon. Your patience is supremely appreciated 🙂
Cheers,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantCool, I’ll close up this ticket. Best of luck with your project!
George
ParticipantHey Roland,
It’s indeed possible for me on Thursday, too – sorry about the troubleshooting complexities here. Please keep me posted on things and I’ll check out your site live when it’s available.
I’ll try to recreate this issue myself to see if I can figure out what the problem is. I haven’t had luck so far but will update this ticket if that changes.
In the meantime here, there are two more things I can think of right now that might be helpful until you can get the site up Thursday. First: would you be able to list all of the plugins that are currently installed on your site?
Next: if possible, head to your site’s wp-config.php file and change this line of code:
define(‘WP_DEBUG’, false);
to this:
define(‘WP_DEBUG’, true);
That will display PHP errors on your site if any exist, which may be helpful here.
Thanks!
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantHey Dieter,
I can definitely follow-up with Leah on this. So just to be clear, are you saying you would like to get a refund and stop troubleshooting here, and try using other plugins or solutions on your site? Or did you accidentally purchase a plugin or something that you didn’t intend to?
Sorry for the confusion on my end on these details, I just want to be certain I know what your plans are that I understand your issue.
Thanks,
GeorgeGeorge
ParticipantNo worries Edgar – I actually have not seen the BuddyPress issue, perhaps another member of the support team has responded to it (and if not, share a link to it here so we can get you help promptly!)
Regarding your customizations and such – thanks for appreciating the limitations of our support for customizations like that. I’m sure you and your developer can piece things together to get exactly what you’re hoping for.
If other specific issues or concerns pop up, definitely come back to the support site and search around or open a new support ticket – but for now, would you say that we can mark this ticket “resolved” since you and your developer are going to take the reins on customization?
I’m sure your developer’s on top of it, but just to say it in case: be sure to make backups of your site and database, and all your custom code! Never a bad idea to have plenty of backups. 🙂
Cheers,
