    Hey Tyler,

    Thanks for reaching out.

If the Tribe__Events__Main class is not found, that indicates a problem with file versions on the site.

The only way to fix this would be to access your site’s plugins directly over FTP. You would need to go to /wp-content/plugins and delete the /the-events-calendar directory there, and then also the /events-calendar-pro directory there.

This will not delete event data.

If you are not familiar with doing this over FTP, then your web host may be able to do this upon request if you ask their support team to do so.

Once that both things are deleted, and there is no trace of either plugin on your site (again, this will not delete event data), download a fresh, brand new copy of The Events Calendar from here ? http://wordpress.org/plugins/the-events-calendar

    Install this on your site.

Activate it. Does the error your reported above arise?

If not, then download a fresh copy of Events Calendar Pro from here ? http://theeventscalendar.com/my-account/downloads

    Install this on your site.

Activate it. Does the error your reported above arise?

Let us know what you find by doing the specific process above!

    Sincerely,
    George

    Hey Cameron,

    Thanks for reaching out.

You describe your needs as follows:

We are currently looking for a way to create sessions within a conference that delegates can elect to attend, and create their own event calendar for.

Our plugins unfortunately do not support these sorts of features at this time. What I mean is, our plugins don’t have features for “creating sessions within a conference” (i.e. sub-events within larger events), nor do our plugins provide the ability for individual users to create their own event calendars.

Making either feature a reality would require substantial customization far beyond the scope of our support forums. You can read more about this here.

So to implement the features you describe, you would have to write that custom code or hire a professional developer to do it for you. We have a list of great developers here → http://m.tri.be/18k1 (and have no affiliation with any of these folks—they’re simply some well-respected names in the community that we’ve compiled to share in situations like this one).

Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with.

    Sincerely,
    George

    Hi Leo,

I would like to know if Events Aggregator is able to pull images from Facebook events and, if so, in which resolution would the picture be in? What about venue locations, would it be able to pull that info too?

YES — If the Facebook Event itself has a featured image then it is pulled in by Event Aggregator as the WordPress post featured image of the event. As for the what resolution it’s in, this is just whatever resolution the image itself is in. In other words, if you use a 300×400-pixel image on Facebook, a 300×400 image will be pulled in. Event Aggregator doesn’t modify this at all.

YES — Just like with images, if the event on Facebook itself has its venue details filled out, then upon being imported into WordPress that data is used to a) create a venue (or use an already-created one of the same data) and b) assigns the event to that venue.

Let’s say I create a FB event with an image, a location and an organiser….would all of these elements be included in the imported event in WordPress?

Yes, all of this data will be included in the imported event.

Based on your theme, specific events, and the details you specifically are most concerned about, you may find it best to just try out Event Aggregator on your site and do some test imports. See how things go! If you don’t like it, we’ll happily provide a 100% refund upon request within the first 30 days of purchase.

I hope this information helps! 😀

    Hi @Denon,

Thanks for reaching out. In response to each of your questions:

    1) once I purchase the Event Aggregator, does it replace the facebook and iCal importers?? or, are they still required?

YES — Event Aggregator replaces Facebook Importer and iCal Importer. However, this replacing it not “automatic”. So for example, once you enter your Event Aggregator license key in your Events Calendar settings, those two legacy importer plugins do not automatically get turned off or removed or anything.

You need to manually delete Facebook Importer and iCal Importer yourself, ideally before you activate Event Aggregator.

More on this process is described here ? https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/moving-to-event-aggregator/

    2) Does the iCal function of the EA import the images now? or is that still a no?

When you say “import the images”, can you clarify where you are saying the images should be imported from? The ICS format itself does not have “featured image” feature, etc., so I am just curious about what iCal feed you are describing specifically that has images to be imported. Please share URL to such a feed, if possible. This will help me accurately answer this question.

    3) Just curious why there is a 100 per day limit. I’m not there yet, but being a city wide community calendar, I can see this limit ultimately being reached.

We are working on providing higher tiers of daily limits, for exactly the concerns you describe! At this time the only option is the 100 imports per day limit, and there is unfortunately no current way around this. But as noted, we are working on providing higher tiers of limits in the very near term.

Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with!

    Sincerely,
    George

    Hey Nichelle,

    Thanks for reaching out!

We indeed offer free and discounted plugins to nonprofits that are approved in our Nonprofit Partnership Program.

You can read about and apply for this Program here ? https://theeventscalendar.com/apply-for-npp/

⚠️ Please Note: The organization itself must submit an application and hold their account (if they get approved). You personally cannot hold the license keys “on behalf of” the organization, for example, even if you’re working for them in some fashion.

Share the application form with the organization—we respond to submissions promptly and hope to see your organization in our submissions queue! 😀

Sorry for the trouble with these problems, Bob! If some folks did end up upgrading PHP because of these problems, that’s certainly a boon for the security of their sites and—in many cases—the performance of their sites, too.

    Cheers,

You should need to delete Event Tickets Plus, though you should deactivate it and any other premium add-on plugins while doing the above process.

Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with.

    Hey there,

    1. You mention seeing a “warning” — can you specify what specific warning you see? Can you share screenshots of the warning, if possible? You can do so by uploading the screenshots to this thread. If you have issues with that, you can upload to Imgur.com, Flickr.com, CloudUp.com, or any similar image-hosting site; then just share the links to those images here and I’ll take a look.

    2. The Event Aggregator tab is just a place in the events settings where, if you buy Event Aggregator, you can enter license key. If you don’t have or want Event Aggregator, no worries — just don’t use or interact with the Event Aggregator license tab.

Let me know what you think about each point here!

    Thanks,
    George

    Hi Oliver,

Can you clarify what you mean here? I was able to see available translations for many languages on both plugin repos you linked to, and when I attempted to Export the translations into .po files, it worked fine.

If I am missing something, I apologize! 😀 Let me know know what you mean when you say, “translations are still not there.”

in reply to: Best Practice for deregistering jQUery #1181370

    Hey Steve,

    Thanks for reaching out.

The best practice is to have no custom registration or de-registration of jQuery whatsoever. SO, when you say, ” I registered the jquery library using wp_enqueue_script().”, what I would recommend doing is removing all custom registrations of jQuery on your site.

WordPress Core provides its own built-in version of jQuery, and it is very bad practice to alter this version at all.

So, ensure that you’re not using any custom-loaded version of jQuery, and that your theme itself is also not de-registering/re-registering its own version of jQuery.

In this state, how do things behave? If things are broken, then can you share a link to the specific events page where it’s broken? I’ll take a closer look with that and see if I can try and identify the problem more specifically.

    Thanks,
    George

    Hey there,

Event Aggregator is not a separate plugin with its own directories or anything like that; please delete any such directories you may have tried making.

Event Aggregator is a service built right into The Events Calendar (the-events-calendar, in the /wp-content/plugins directory). To use it, all you do is install and activate The Events Calendar and enter the Event Aggregator license key; once activated, the import service will be activated and can be used in the wp-admin.

I hope this helps! 😀 Please let me know if so, and if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with.

    Sincerely,
    George

    Hi Greg,

    1. You say, “Tentysixteen [sic] is the current WP default plugin. Twentyfourteen is two years old.” There is no plugin of this name so I assume you’re referring to the theme Twenty Sixteen. Can you clarify why you are mentioning this in the context of this issue?

    2. As for the issue with jQuery Resize, can you please share a link to the page on your site where the JavaScript is breaking because of this so that we can take a closer look?

    3. Next, can you please specify in what browser and operating system you see those JS errors in?

    Thank you,
    George

    Hey Amy,

Customizing the look of your widgets is only possible in two main ways. First is by CSS, which does not require server access. The other method is with template overrides, which does generally require some server access.

We are not able to help with customizations ourselves. If you would like to customize your widgets, you need to write custom CSS on your site. To help do this I would definitely recommend checking out a [free!] tool like Firebug if you use FireFox, or the Developer Tools for either Safari or Chrome. They have “Inspector” tools that let you zoom right over the element on the page you want to change, so that it’s easier to figure out what CSS to write.

Please let me know if there are any other issues or questions I can try to help with!

    Sincerely,
    Gelrge
