MemberHi there, Andrey! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the forum. We hope you’re enjoying the plugins so far. π
The upcoming events widget will actually display as “Event List” in the widget list (screenshot). Do you happen to see that in your list of available widgets, or not at all?
Great question about customizing widgets. Here are a few resources you can check out to help customize them:
- Themer’s Guide: This will show you how to create overrides for the specific templates to customize the layouts and styles. Definitely worth a read.
- Widget Tutorials: Some handy ways to customize the widgets with step-by-step instructions.
- Documentation: This is the complete documentation for all our plugins, including the widgets.
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. π
Cheers!

MemberThat’s certainly strange! I was able to add the snippet to myΒ functions.php file (leaving out the opening PHP tag) without errors or text appearing on the screen. My hunch is that there is a syntax issue in your file that needs to be cleaned. For example, check for stray semicolons and closing brackets.
Iβm guessing that if I never update your plugin, my site will crash sooner or later.
The plugin will continue to work regardless if it is updated or not. We do recommend, though, that you use synced version numbers of Modern Tribe plugins (for example TEC 3.8 with TEC PRO 3.8) so the functionality is consistent across the board. And, like any other plugin, updating themes and installing other plugins can potentially cause conflicts, but not always. It’s always a good idea to backup your files and database when doing any updates of any kind. π

MemberMy pleasure, Dirk! Happy that we’ve been able to help so far. π
I really wish we could work on that connection for you, but I’m afraid that level of support and customization is outside what we can provide here in the forums. If you are looking for help in that area, you can email us at pro [at] tri.be and we’d be happy to share a list of freelance developers that we recommend and may be able to help out.
Also, even though it doesn’t solve your exact situation, you may be interested in checking out our non-profit program. Depending on your eligibility, you may be able to get our plugins for free, so it’s worth checking out. π
I’m going to go ahead and close this thread since it seems we’ve covered an answer to the original question, but please feel free to hit us up with a new thread if any other questions pop up. We’d be happy to help. π
Cheers!

October 10, 2014 at 7:27 am in reply to: Multiple Calendar links with different sets of categories #800747Geoff
MemberGood question. That snippet will exclude categories in the main Month view, but you will still be able to access the excluded categories using their direct link. For example, the category “Birthday” can still be viewed at:Β [your-site]/events/category/birthday.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know.

MemberSometimes having that opening PHP tag in there can cause the white screen of death. Give it a shot without and let’s see if that helps. π
