MemberHey there, Brian! Long time, no see. ๐
Good question. Yes, changing fonts is something that would need to be done at the theme level. The Events Calendar plugin simply inherits the font used in the theme’s stylesheet (typically theย style.css file). In this case, it looks like the font is set in the body tag.
I do want to note that we are fairly limited in terms of helping out with custom development questions, but I hope this points you in the right direction.

MemberHi there, Laurence! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the forums. We hope you’re digging the plugins so far. ๐
We help troubleshoot plugin issues here in the support forums, but we’d be happy to pass along some names of freelancers who might be able to help out with custom work. Send us an email to pro [at] tri.be (you can reference this thread, if you’d like) and we’ll give you some recommendations.
I’m going to go ahead and close this thread, but please feel free to hit us up with a new thread if any other questions pop up. We’d be happy to help. ๐

MemberHi there, Brian! Nice to see you again. Hope you had a great holiday. ๐
I see shat you mean! Try adding this to your theme’sย style.css file:
.tribe-week-grid-hours,ย .tribe-week-today { background-color:ย #000000; }That should make the far left columns black, but you can change “#000000” to any color you’d like. You may need to fiddle around with it a bit, but hopefully it gets you started in the right direction. ๐

MemberHi there, Guy! Thanks for getting in touch and sorry you’re hitting some trouble here. Hopefully we can figure it out together. ๐
We have tried changing to the default events template which gives us the correct width but crashes our menu at the top of the page
It sounds like there might be a theme conflict. Does the same issue happen when using a default WordPress theme, like Twenty Fourteen, and disabling other plugins?
Weโve also changed the styles and all of these still show the calendar full width across the page.
You have a couple of options here:
1) Create a custom template
One would be to override the Default Events Template and customize it to fit your theme’s layout. To do this, make a copy of the template (located in /plugins/the-event-calendar/views/default-template.php). Then, create a new folder in your theme calledย tribe-events and drop your copied file in there.
Once the template is in your theme folder, it can be customized however you see fit. In this case, it looks like you theme uses Bootstrap, so you could wrap the calendar in the Bootstrap grid. Something like:
<div class="row"> <div class="col-sm-12"> ... </div> </div>Check out our Themer’s Guide for a more thorough walkthrough of how template overrides work.
2) Force the width using CSS
An alternative is to use CSS to add padding to the left and right sides of the calendar container. Add something like this to your theme’s stylesheet (typically style.css):
#tribe-events-content { padding: 2px 50px; }I’m afraid we’re rather limited in how much support we can provide for customizations like this, but hopefully this helps point you in right direction so the calendar fits nicely with your theme’s layout. ๐

MemberHi there, Rob! Thanks for getting in touch. By the way, I love how the site looks–nice work. ๐
Great question. I do want to note first of all, though, that we are fairly limited in terms of helping out with custom development questions like this one. That said, weโd love to point you in the right direction if we can.
Honestly, I’m unfamiliar with the Essential Grid plugin and how it creates its query to fetch posts. If it allows you to modify or override its query, you will want to customize the one it uses to fetch Events posts using theย tribe_get_events() function. Here’s a handy tutorial with examples of how to use this query, including one that shows how to limit the display to only upcoming events.
Another possibility would be to try installing a plugin that adds an expiration date to posts. I don’t have any recommendations that I’ve tested, but this one looks promising. This way, you could add an expiration date to your Events posts, which will automatically remove them on a certain date.
I’m sorry I don’t have a concrete solution for you, but does this help answer your question? Please let me know. ๐
Cheers!

Great question.ย I do want to note first of all, though, that we are fairly limited in terms of helping out with custom development questions like this one. That said, weโd love to point you in the right direction if we can.
You might want to consider usingย tribe_get_events() to build your query instead. This will allow you to filter theย eventDisplay to “upcoming” which will weed out your past events. It’s certainly possible to achieve the same thing in your existing query, but this way might be a little easier.
Give that a shot–I hope it helps. ๐

MemberHey Varga! Great work pinning the first issue down to permalinks. I’m so glad that did the trick.
Yes, let’s take a deeper look at what’s going on with the re-writes on your site. Go ahead and open a new thread and we’ll help you start troubleshooting. I’ll close this one in the meantime.
