MemberYes, you could create a custom excerpt length in your function.php file (more on that here), then call that function in the Photo View template, which is located at /plugins/events-calendar-pro/views/pro/photo/single-event.php.
To do that:
- Copy that file
- Make a new folder in your theme directory called tribe-events
- Make a folder in that one called pro
- Make a folder in that one called photo
- Drop your copied single-view.php file in that last folder
Now that your template is in your theme folder, you can modify it to suit your needs. In this case, Change out Line 52 with your new custom excerpt:
<?php echo tribe_events_get_the_excerpt() ?>Cheers!

MemberHi there, Chris! Thanks for getting in touch and sorry for the snag here with the update.
The PRO license itself actually does not provide any functionality for the plugin, but does allow you to access the support forums (here) and activate automatic updates for the PRO plugin.
That said, it sounds possible that you may either be:
1) Running older versions of The Events Calendar and The Events Calendar PRO on a newer version of WordPress and that both plugins need to be updated to the latest versions to complement the latest version of WordPress.
2) Running a newer version of The Events Calendar than The Events Calendar PRO. Both should be running the same version (currently on 3.9.1) in order to ensure proper functionality.
If you renew your PRO license, you will certainly regain access to update the PRO plugin and run the latest versions of both plugins together. 🙂
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know.
Thanks!

MemberHi there, Will! Welcome to the forums and thanks for getting in touch. 🙂
Good question. It may depend on your WordPress settings, but most default configurations will hyphenate category slugs for multi-word categories.
So, for example, if you have a category called Sunday Morning Service, you might expect to access that at: [your-site]/events/category/sunday-morning-service/
You can also see your category slugs by heading over to Events > Event Categories in the WordPress admin and selecting the category.
Does this help out? Please let me know. 🙂

MemberHi there Adrian! Welcome back to the forums. Let’s take a look at your questions.
1) How Can I do if I want to show more than 10 events?
The number of events can be increased on the Events > Settings screen. In the General Settings section, there is an option to set the number of events you would like to display per page. Change this, save your settings, and you’re good to go.
2) How Can I do to reduce de the text un of the events in this view?
All events respect the Excerpt field in the post editor. If you’d like to have shorter text in Photo View, enter in the text you would like to use in the Excerpt field of the event post.
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. 🙂

MemberHi Carolyn–thanks for following up and marking the answer! Feel free to let us know if any other questions pop up as you look into the plugins and we’d be happy to help.
Also, I thought I would share this link to some tutorials we have on  the Eventbrite Tickets add-on. You might find them helpful for getting a sense of how the plugin works. 🙂

MemberHi there, Paul! Thanks for getting in touch.
Good question. This is indeed one of the most requested features for our ticketing add-ons. I don’t have a specific timeframe to share, but I’d suggest heading over to our UserVoice forum, where you can sign up for updates on this specific feature.
Sorry I don’t have more news to post, but let me know if you have any follow-up questions and I’d be happy to help. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHi there, Liam! Thanks for reaching out–we’re stoked that you’re interested in going PRO and hope it’s a good fit for you. 🙂
Excellent question. Yes, it does indeed sound as though you will need both The Events Calendar PRO and the Filter Bat add-on in this case. PRO will give you the recurring event functionality, and Filter Bar will add filters that allow your visitors to refine your events on the front-end.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know.
Cheers!

MemberHello Carolyn, thanks for getting in touch! We’re excited you’re checking out the plugin and I hope it’s a fir for your project.
Yes, you could certainly add any number of classes as Events using the free version of The Events Calendar. That would definitely take care of your need for seven classes.
We do have a number of add-ons that will add ticketing to your classes/events. At first glance, it seems like the Eventbrite Tickets add-on might be a nice fit since Eventbrite accepts reservations.
Does this help answer your question? Do you have any additional questions? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHi there, Courtney! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome back to the forums. It’s been a while but nice to see you again. 🙂
I just checked out the site (thanks for the links!) and it looks like this event:
http://whocenterpa.com/event/summer-of-sonship-2015/2015-06-16/…is properly displaying on June 16 in the Month View:
http://whocenterpa.com/events/2015-06/Did you happen to solve the issue on your own? Or perhaps I’m looking in the wrong place and you can help clarify where the issue is? Either way, please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHi Mehrdad! Awesome, I’m so glad that worked out and accomplished what you were looking for. 🙂
Thanks for the feedback as well. As you noted, the calendar is very customizable. If you have specific ideas for what sort of customizations you would like to see done without template overrides and how those might work, we’d love to hear about them on our UserVoice forum. That’s where we take new feature suggestions.
I’ll go ahead and close this thread since you marked it as Resolved, but please feel free to reach back out if any other questions pop up and we’d be happy to help. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHi DT Forum,
I just want to start off by first thanking you for reaching out. I’m aware you’re pretty frustrated here, but I do sincerely appreciate you taking the time to reach out and let us know.
I’m sorry for the frustrating experience. We’ve clearly fallen short of your expectations for excellent customer service. We do hold ourselves to a high bar here and I’m sorry if we failed to deliver on that standard.
In looking at the thread in question, I do see your point and can imagine you found yourself in a situation where you were being asked to track a lot of information from multiple sources and simply wanted support.
To Barry’s point, we are certainly interested in knowing what sort of advice the Jetpack/wordpress.com team had so that we can see if there are any opportunities for us to fine-tune and address anything that would help solve the issue on our end. Without some more guidance here, we’re left in a position of guessing and perhaps we could have communicated that up front before closing off the conversation.
I’m bummed to hear you’re searching for alternatives but completely understand and want to offer you a refund. Of course, we’d hate to see you go as a customer, but we also want to do right by you here. Please email us at support [at] theeventscalendar.com, cite this thread, and we’d be happy to process that for you.
Thanks again for reaching out,
Geoff

MemberHi there Mehrdad! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome back to the forums. 🙂
Good question. That icon is actually not an image, but styled completely with CSS. That’s a good thing, but it makes updating it much easier.
First, make a copy of the single-event.php template. It’s located at /plugins/events-calendar-pro/views/pro/widgets/modules/single-event.php. Then,
- Create a new folder in your theme directory called tribe-events
- Create a new folder in that one called pro
- Create a new folder in that one called widgets
- Create one more new folder in that one called modules
- Drop your copied single-event.php file in that last folder
Now that the file is in your theme, you can modify it to suit your needs. In this case, change this line:
<span class="list-dayname"><?php echo apply_filters( 'tribe-mini_helper_tribe_events_ajax_list_dayname', date_i18n( 'D', $postDate ), $postDate, $class ); ?></span>…to this:
<span class="list-dayname"><?php echo apply_filters( 'tribe-mini_helper_tribe_events_ajax_list_dayname', date_i18n( 'M', $postDate ), $postDate, $class ); ?></span>That should change the icon so it shows the abbreviated month name (e.g. Jan) instead of the day of the week.
Cheers!

MemberHello there, Raymond!
Welcome to the forums and thanks for getting in touch. Sorry to hear about this issue, but I’m happy to look at it with you and see if we can’t figure it out here together. 🙂
I see what you mean. The first two events in your sidebar there are duplicated.
I also see that the events are duplicated on your main events calendar as well:
http://knitone.biz/events/When you log into WordPress and go to Events > All Events, do you see the events duplicated there as well. For example, do you see the Beginning Knitting event on March 24 listed twice as well?
If so, you may need to delete the duplicated instances. If not, will you please share a screenshot of your recurrence settings for that particular event and share it with me?
Let’s start there and see what we find. 🙂
Cheers!
