MemberHello there, Robyn! Welcome back to the forums and thanks for getting in touch. 🙂
Would it be possible for you to open up the Community Events form to anonymous visitors so I can take a look and see what’s happening? Right now, the form requires an account.
Without looking at it, the sounds like a Javascript conflict. I know you said you tried deactivating all other plugins (which is great!) but I wonder if there is a conflict with the theme that’s throwing that conflict. I’ll be able to see that when the form is opened up, but it would also be great if you could try switching to a default WordPress theme (like Twenty Fifteen) while deactivating other plugins to see if that makes a difference.
Let’s start there and see what we find. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberThanks for setting up a test event and sharing the link, plugandplay! That’s super helpful and I appreciate it.
I did indeed see the event during the start and end time range yesterday. Now that I visit the site today, I see that the event has properly been removed from the Upcoming Events page you linked to.
Is this different from what you expect? Or perhaps am I still missing something and you can help clarify for me? Either way, please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHello Sarah! Nice to see you again and hope all is well. 🙂
If I remember correctly, you’re using Jetpack’s Sharing module for social sharing–is that correct?
If so, there is a known conflict between The Events Calendar and Jetpack, specifically tied to the social sharing module. Unfortunately, there isn’t a fix available for this on our end, but we have seen others solve it. Check out this article for more details on that and see if it will help in this case as well.
Cheers!

MemberHello Amy! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the forums. We’re stoked you made the move to PRO and thank you for your support. 🙂
It sounds like you might be uploading the plugin to your Media Library instead of the Plugins area. If you head over to Plugins > Add New from the WordPress dashboard, there should be a “Upload Plugin” button at the top of the screen. Click that and it will allow you to select, upload and install the plugin from there.
If you have any doubts here, you might want to check out this tutorial for more help.
Does this help? Please let me know and thanks again for reaching out!

MemberHello Jan–welcome back to the forums. 🙂
Good question. You can certainly add links manually. In other words, you can override the Month View template and add links to it as you need. See our Themer’s Guide for more details on how template overrides work.
If you want to display a link for each event, you could use the same idea but override the month/tooltip.php file instead and output the Event Website field in the tooltip for the event.
This type of customization is possible, but it will be outside the level of support we can provide here in the forums. Hopefully this helps get you started and please feel free to let me know if you have specific follow-up questions here. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHey Clifford!
Thanks for getting in touch. It’s actually good you reached out now because we are in the process of updating the Eventbrite Tickets add-on to the latest Eventbrite API. That should be coming out real soon.
At the same time, scheduled imports will not be part of the next release. It is certainly possible in the new Eventbrite API (from what we can tell) and something that we are actively looking into after we upgrade the plugin to the new API.
The best way to stay in the loop on these updates is to add your vote on our UserVoice forum (as you’ve already seen). Adding your vote will allow you to subscribe to notifications as we make progress on the development.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHi there, Brian! Thanks for getting in touch. 🙂
Yes, you will still be able to post your own events on either the front or back end of the site with all the plugins installed. You have the choice to post events via the Community Events form on the front end or the post editor on the back end, but your visitors will only be able to post via the Community Events form on the front end. Either way, all events will go to the same calendar.
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know.
Cheers!

MemberHowdy Michelle! Thanks for getting in touch and welcome to the forums. 🙂
Good question. Yes, I do believe Advanced Custom Fields would be the way to go here. That will allow you to set up a new field group and assign them to display on Events posts in the editor. You can refer to the ACF documentation for specific instructions and examples on how it works.
Once you have your fields set up, you can add them directly to the Event template. To do this:
- Make a copy of the single-event.php template. It is located at /plugins/the-events-calendar/views/single-event.php
- Make a new folder in your theme directory called tribe-events
- Drop the copied single-event.php file in that folder
Now that the Event template is in your theme, you can modify it to suit your needs. In this case, you would include the ACF fields where you would like them to display. Again, ACF has some examples of how to display fields in their documentation.
Does this help get you started? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHello Thijs! Thanks for getting in touch.
Those are good questions. First off, I’m not aware of any specific issues or conflicts related to the Avada theme. However I did a quick search through the forum and found some past topics where others had some difficulty making customizations when using that theme. That isn’t to say there are not conflicts, but I think it would be a good idea to install the free version of The Events Calendar and give it a try to see if it works well for you.
You also asked about a Dutch translation. You can check our list of available translations. It appears Dutch is translated up to version 3.7 of the plugin, so I would guess that you may come across some strings that will require additional translation.
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberHi there, quantafire! Welcome back to the forums. 🙂
Yeah, it would be possible to change the title from the Post Title to “Venue City: Event Category.” I was able to do that using the following snippet in the theme’s functions.php file. Give it a shot, though you may need to bend it a bit to work with your specific setup.
