ParticipantHi there,
Im using the plugin and it seems that an event isnt expiring after the time given.
So I have an event that starts today at 10:00am and ends at 1:00pm, and even though the time is past 1:00pm it is still show on the /events page under Upcoming events. Its also showing in the Upcoming events widget.
Is this because I do not have the pro version?

MemberHey there plugandplay! Thanks for getting in touch. 🙂
That’s actually the intended behavior of both the widget and the Upcoming Events archive. Both will show and upcoming and current event until the event has fully expired, which is when the end time has struck.
I can see how that might be a little confusing up front, but does that at least help clarify things a bit? Please let me know.
Cheers!

ParticipantHey Geoff,
Do you mean the event not disappearing from the events archive after the time is the intended behaviour?

MemberAh, gotcha. I’m sorry, I misread part of your thread there. My apologies!
No, events that are in the past should not be displayed in the Upcoming Events archive or widget. Are you able to send me a link where this issue is coming up so I can take a look at it? That would help since I haven’t been able to replicate the issue myself.
Thanks!

MemberThanks for setting up a test event and sharing the link, plugandplay! That’s super helpful and I appreciate it.
I did indeed see the event during the start and end time range yesterday. Now that I visit the site today, I see that the event has properly been removed from the Upcoming Events page you linked to.
Is this different from what you expect? Or perhaps am I still missing something and you can help clarify for me? Either way, please let me know. 🙂
Cheers!

MemberGood question–the event will continue to display throughout the day and will be removed at the end of the day.
Does that help clarify things a bit? Please let me know. 🙂

ParticipantHi, yes now I understand.
Do you know if there is a way to change this setting so an event does not display after the time is up?
Is it something I can get with the PRO plugin?
April 30, 2015 at 7:58 am #959639Geoff
MemberUnfortunately, that’s not a setting that can be toggled in any of the plugins. I think the best bet for changing that behavior would be to create your own query for events using the tribe_get_events() function. We have a more in depth tutorial on that function, which might help you get started.
Cheers!
