MemberHi Doug, thanks for following up!
So with iCal Importer will it do everything new at once or just one at a time what you tell it?
Will it bring over all images and recurring info etc. Whats the distinction from Updating on a
recurring basis and syncing information?iCal Importer is great for a one-time import but syncing changes to events once they’re made is not something it was designed to do.
Again I am just wanting to catch up the Calendar changes on the live site to the staging site.
So they are the same when I make the staging Live.Exactly, which is why a database migration tool–whether it is WP Migrate Pro or another solution–is what you likely want to consider.
I hope this helps!

MemberHi Bruce,
None of that is normal behavior and I am unable to reproduce them on a test site running the default Twenty Sixteen theme and only the following plugins activated:
- The Events Calendar 4.2.3
- Events Calendar PRO 4.2.3
- Event Tickets 4.2.3
- Event Tickets Plus 4.2.3
- WooCommerce 2.6.4

MemberAh, gotcha. That particular price label is actually being from WooCommerce instead of Event Tickets Plus. So, while the snippet will hit all the instances in Event Tickets Plus, the WooCommerce translation will need to be made in the WooCommerce translation file.
You can find that file here:
/wp-content/plugins/woocommerce/i18n/languages/woocommerce.pot…and WooCommerce has suggestions for custom translations posted right here:
https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/woocommerce-localization/Cheers!

MemberAh, gotcha. Thanks for clarifying!
It’s a little tricky in this case because the search bar is generated with javascript. I would recommend editing the language file directly using a tool like POEdit. All the strings will be included in the .po file for your translation and will be much easier to maintain.
We have a tutorial that provides step-by-step instructions for overriding existing language files in the plugin so that changes do not get lost on future plugin updates.
Cheers!

MemberGood question! If you’re looking to keep the entire site mirrored, then I would definitely suggest an option like WP Migrate Pro.
iCal Importer is great for importing events from one place to another, but not so much for syncing information.

MemberHey Jason,
Just wanted to follow up with you here while Nico is out today.
We were able to create a quick little plugin that will simplify the checkin process for you. Once the code has been scanned, it will redirect you to much simpler screen rather than the enormous list you’re dealing with now.
Please download, install and activate this ZIP file as you would any other WordPress Plugin.
I do want to note that we tested this on a clean install of The Events Calendar and Event Tickets. I know you have some additional customizations in place, so just wanted to mention it in case a customization happens to prevent this from working.
Worst case, you can craft a URL to check a specific person in and see that same screen using this as an example:
[your-site]//?event_qr_code=1&ticket_id=159&event_id=20
I have a new problem. People are showing up to the event and staff aren’t able to scan the QRs on some of the people’s device screens.
I’ve actually run into this same problem using other check-in apps and increasing the brightness of the device screens seems to make a huge difference. If not in this case, then that URL example above can be used instead.
Cheers!

MemberHi Dido and thanks for following up!
I’m afraid that the plugin does not include any shortcodes to embed the full calendar view into a page or post — however, Events Calendar PRO has a number of sbortcodes that will embed calendar widgets and the Advanced Event List Widget is capable of filtering a specific category.
Sorry for the bad news, but does this at least help?
Thanks,
GeoffGeoff

MemberHey there, @awakeninghearts — nice to see you again. 🙂
There are a number of good third-party plugins that will help mirror all the content of one site to another. For example, WP Migrate Pro is a pretty powerful option.
If you’re only interesting in moving events from site to site, then you might want to check out our iCal Importer plugin. That will allow one site to automatically import the events from the other site on a scheduled, recurring basis.
Will either of these options work for you? Please let me know.
Cheers!

MemberHey Kris and happy Friday!
Great question. We actually have step-by-step instructions for moving your license key from one site to another right here:
https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/moving-your-license-keys/
Will those steps help get you started? Please let me know. 🙂

MemberHi Alex and happy Friday! I hope you’re having a great day so far. 🙂
Great questions.
…but this does mean that in order to test the functionality on either local DEV > Staging > or Live, you will need to manually switch the license accordingly ?
Not at all. The license merely gives you access to plugin updates and these support forums, so no need to move them back and forth all the time. In fact, some folks like to keep the license on the development site so plugin updates are not inadvertently pushed to the live site before testing.
Conflict with Yoast SEO – We are using this plugin on our site. Will this be issue with the ticket plugin or is it specific to the calendar plugin?
Most folks have no issues with Yoast and our plugins at all. The conflict reported there affects a few people and only then it’s a character issue in the browser tab title. In other words, it will have no affect on the functionality of the plugin or the ability to optimize events for SEO. 🙂
Does this help answer your questions? Please let me know.
Cheers!

MemberHi Dido and happy Friday! Hope you’re having a great day so far. 🙂
Yes, The Events Calendar already creates unique URLs for each event category you create. So, for example, if you have a category called “Dance” then you could find it here:
[your-site]/events/category/dance
…and link directly to that instead of /events.
And the great news? No need for any of our premium products. The free version of the plugin is all you need for that. 🙂
Does this help answer your question? Please let me know.
Cheers!
