ParticipantYes, your developer should be able to do either one by editing the template as necessary.

ParticipantHappy to help! Just let us know if you need further help.

ParticipantYour developer should be able to customize all of this by performing a template override (https://theeventscalendar.com/what-are-template-overrides-and-how-do-i-do-them/) and then customizing the list.php page.
Let me know if they have any trouble doing this, and we’ll be happy to help as much as we can. Thanks!

ParticipantLyne,
Someone who is familiar with PHP should be able to perform a template override (https://theeventscalendar.com/what-are-template-overrides-and-how-do-i-do-them/) and modify the necessary PHP files fairly easily. Here’s more information from WordPress on The excerpt method:(http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/the_excerpt)
Hope that helps!
Casey
ParticipantCan you give me a link to view? I’ll take a look.

ParticipantLyne,
It’s not currently possible to do this on the submission form, but you could perform a template override (https://theeventscalendar.com/what-are-template-overrides-and-how-do-i-do-them/) and just display the excerpt instead of the full description. How comfortable are you editing PHP?

ParticipantKaren,
If you’ve switched to the 2012 theme and you’re still having this issue, then I would also try deactivating all of your plugins and the re-activating them one by one to determine if one of your plugins is causing this issue.Try that and let me know what you find. Thanks.
Casey
ParticipantLyne,
You can do this by using ‘Custom Fields’ in Events Calendar Pro. Take a look at this tutorial and let me know if you have further questions: https://theeventscalendar.com/pro-adding-custom-events-attributes/Thanks!

ParticipantAlan,
Since we haven’t heard back from you, I’m going to close this thread out. Please feel free to start a new thread if you’re still having problems. Thanks!Casey
ParticipantUnfortunately it’s displaying this way because of a style rule that’s coming from your theme’s stylesheet. I would talk to your theme developer to see if they can determine what style is causing that weird behavior. Thanks!

ParticipantRob,
As it seems that the first issue is an issue related to your theme, I would suggest contacting your theme developer to see why the sidebar is not displaying on this page. Unfortunately we’re not able to provide support for theme-related issues. You can read more about that here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/read-this-an-important-note-on-plugintheme-deactivation/Regarding the HTML snippet, you can put the HTML in your event-form.php file as I’ve indicated here (see line 31): https://gist.github.com/4511540
Just let me know if you’re able to get that working. Thanks!
Casey
ParticipantKaren,
Unfortunately, since this is an issue with your theme we’re unable to offer support for this. Take a look at this topic and let me know if you have further questions: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/read-this-an-important-note-on-plugintheme-deactivation/Thanks!

ParticipantKaren,
So sorry you’re having issues with this. I’ve noticed another thread with this same issue (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/community-form-not-displaying-all-fields-2/), which might help you out some.In an effort to keep the discussion in one place, I’m going to close out this thread, so please comment on that thread if you have further issues.
Thanks so much!
Casey
ParticipantLyne,
Thanks for getting in touch with us and sorry to hear you’re having issues. You can change this functionality by editing the ‘Access Control’ settings (http://d.pr/i/ICcg) from the Community Settings page.Just login to the dashboard and go to ‘Events->Settings->Community’ and you’ll see the ‘Access Control’ options there.
Give that a try and let me know if that solves your issue. Thanks.

ParticipantRob,
Thanks for reaching out! You can customize the Community Event form by putting a replacement file of the same name (event-form.php) in the events/community/ directory of your theme. You can read more about template overrides here: https://theeventscalendar.com/faq/what-are-template-overrides-and-how-do-i-do-them/
Just let me know if you have further questions. Thanks!
