ParticipantCommunity Events, even though it’s appended to ECP and ECP’s template is set to Fullwidth, defaults to an archive layout. Is there some coding override that can be done to make the page fullwidth? I’m using a grid layout, if that matters, and I have tested it with WP’s default theme and other plugins deactivated.
Also, there is no option to add HTML before the submit template(namely maybe space to give your users additional instructions via HTML), like there is in Events template tab? That would be helpful, and if there is a way to manually add that HTML to a file in the Editor, I’d appreciate knowing that.

ParticipantRob,
Thanks for reaching out! You can customize the Community Event form by putting a replacement file of the same name (event-form.php) in the events/community/ directory of your theme. You can read more about template overrides here: https://theeventscalendar.com/faq/what-are-template-overrides-and-how-do-i-do-them/
Just let me know if you have further questions. Thanks!

ParticipantI read through that post, and thank you for it. But… that doesn’t answer either of my questions. What would that customization be, specifically? Should the template be fullwidth by default, because the main Events template is fullwidth? If so, surely you’ve run into this with other themes that operate on a grid. What was that fix?
And, can you tell me where I might be able to insert a snippet of HTML, so that it appears just above the Submission form?
And, again, thank you for responding so quickly. Really nice to see that. =)

ParticipantRob,
As it seems that the first issue is an issue related to your theme, I would suggest contacting your theme developer to see why the sidebar is not displaying on this page. Unfortunately we’re not able to provide support for theme-related issues. You can read more about that here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/read-this-an-important-note-on-plugintheme-deactivation/Regarding the HTML snippet, you can put the HTML in your event-form.php file as I’ve indicated here (see line 31): https://gist.github.com/4511540
Just let me know if you’re able to get that working. Thanks!

ParticipantI’m not trying to display the sidebar. ???
I’m trying to make the page fullwidth… with NO sidebar. Can I add “!important” somewhere in the CSS? Or in the php, to just not call it?And, thanks for the snippet of code for the HTML in the event-form.php. That helps tremendously.

ParticipantRob,
Unfortunately we can’t provide support for custom themes. However, I did notice that your single page template is using ‘grid-8’ for your page layout, which is why the form is only taking up 2/3 of the page width. I would contact your theme developer to see if they can help you customize this.Just let me know if you have further questions and we’ll help where we can. Thanks!

ParticipantYou guys rock…period. I completely understand about the theme support; I wouldn’t offer it, either. But, thank you for taking the time to look at it! That’s a really cool thing to do. I love it. Love you guys.
Thanks, again.

ParticipantThanks for confirming that this got you sorted. Unless you disagree, I’m going to mark this thread “Answered” and close it out.
We really appreciate your support and please let us know if you need anything else in the future. If you find yourself with a few minutes and would be so kind as to give us a “Works” rating or a positive star voting on the WordPress.org repo (http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/the-events-calendar/), or even a shoutout to your followers on Facebook or Twitter, it would mean a lot to us. Thanks again for using the plugin.
