Participantrobpoole,
Definitely! One thing you could do would be to create an Event Category called ‘Community Events’ and then assign user-submitted events to that category. Once you’ve done that, you can use this plugin to customize the colors that display with your Event Categories.Give that a shot and let me know if it does the trick. Thanks! π

ParticipantThanks for confirming that this got you sorted. Since it looks like you’re all set, I’m going to mark this thread “Answered” and close it out.
By the way, if you have a minute or two, we would love it if you’d write a few words for us here: http://wordpress.org/support/view/plugin-reviews/the-events-calendar?filter=5
Thanks in advance. π
Cheers,

Participantrobpoole,
Thanks for reaching out! I think I can help you here. In order to add custom CSS to your Event Submission form, the best method would be to paste the following code into your theme’s functions.php file: https://gist.github.com/ckpicker/6809345You can then add the following custom CSS to hide the Categories section on the submission form:
#event_taxonomy {display:none !important;}
Give that a shot and let me know if it does the trick. Thanks! π

ParticipantCindy,
Sorry to hear you’re having trouble hear, but hopefully I can help. When you created the event, were you submitting it from the Community Event Submission form? If so, you’ll need to make sure that the Submitted Events aren’t in a ‘Pending’ status. Just go to your list of Events in the Dashboard and make sure the status of your event doesn’t say ‘Pending’ next to it (screenshot). You can control what status Submitted Events get by going to ‘Events->Settings->Community’ and changing the Default status for submitted events (screenshot).
Thanks! π

ParticipantMelanie,
I also just realized that you’re running an older version of the plugin. Could you go into your plugin updates and update ‘The Events Calendar’ and ‘Events Calendar PRO’? It’s possible this issue has already been fixed in the latest version. Thanks! π-Casey-

Participantgian,
Unfortunately, we can’t offer support for customizations like this, but there are many plugins out there that can do this ( here’s one example). Hopefully that gets you started in the right direction. Good luck and thanks! π-Casey-

ParticipantMelanie,
Yeah, I’m definitely seeing the issue you’re referring to, and I’ll help you get to the bottom of it. Have you tried deactivating all other plugins to see if something is conflicting? I’m not sure if that’s the issue, but I’d like to rule it out before we start investigating further. Can you confirm? Thanks! π-Casey-

ParticipantMike,
It looks like this is a conflict with your theme. It looks like you have a couple of options:- You could hide that section only on the Community events pages. You could do this with some custom CSS styles, by pasting the following code into your theme’s functions.php file: https://gist.github.com/ckpicker/6809345
- You could use the default Events Template only for your Community pages, by copying over ‘/wp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar/views/default-template.php’ to your theme directory, and then pasting the following code into your theme’s functions.php file: https://gist.github.com/ckpicker/7914377 (making sure to change line #4 to ‘default-template.php’).
Give one of those options a shot and let me know if it does the trick. Thanks! π

ParticipantMike,
Thanks for reaching out! I’d be happy to point you in the right direction. You can customize the PHP views that Community is using by performing a template override. Here’s how to do this:1) Just create the following new directory structure in your theme directory: β/tribe-events/communityβ
2) After doing that, go to βwp-content/plugins/the-events-calendar-community-events/views/community/β and copy over all files to the new directory you created in Step 1.
Then you can modify any of the PHP files you copied over, and not worry about your changes being lost when you update the plugin.
Hope that helps! Just let me know if you have further questions. Thanks! π
