MemberGlad that plugin helps.
Unfortunately, not sure of a way to password protect that events calendar page and it is not a feature we have in our plugins.
There are plugins out there that might be able to target it, but I am not sure how that would all work together since it is not a feature we have at the moment.
Let me know if you have any follow up questions.
Thanks

MemberHi,
Sorry for the troubles you are having with the search and thank you for sharing the troubleshooting steps you have taken.
Yes indeed a theme can change the backend, many themes include widgets in theme created using the theme.
We are not able to provide to much support on theme issues, but I can help answer some questions.
What theme are you using? And are you able to reach out to the developer to ask if they might know what the cause is? The reason I am asking that is they know their codebase better then we would and may have a quick solution.
Otherwise I would check your error logs and see if there is a error on a specific line of code to help point out the issue.
Let me know and I can try to help out.
Thanks

MemberHi thanks for the interest in the Events Calendar Pro. I can help you out here.
See my answers below:
a) Speakers should be handled ~like categories in WP. So there should be a global list and one should be able to add X speakers.
The Additional Fields in Pro are not able to do that, but you could add in your own custom taxonomy for that.
b) Another requirement is adding a link to each speaker, so the rendered name can point to a page which provides additional information about the person.
Again that could be possible, but only through customization of above custom taxonomy.
AS for customizations we can help answer some questions, but for the most part they are beyond the support we can provide.
Let me know if you have any follow up questions.
Thanks

MemberHi,
Sorry for the issues you are having and thank you for explaining the steps you have taken to try and resolve this on your own. I can help troubleshoot this with you to get it working.
Can you share the event link that should have the tickets in a private reply and I will take a look and then we can go from there.
Thanks
Brian
MemberHi,
Thanks for using our plugins. I can help answer your question here. I believe it is possible to email the organizer when a ticket is issued, unfortunately, there is no feature to do that within the plugin so it would take some customizing, which is beyond the support we can provide.
I looked up to see if we had any coding to do this or another customer shared some with us and I did not find anything either.
So I do not have anything to give you. If you have any more questions I can answer them.
Let me know.
Thanks
Brian
MemberYep that is correct their is no feature in the Event Calendar to achieve it except for by doing it yourself with custom coding. So the widget is the only way to achieve that.
Since there is nothing more we can do here, I am going to close this ticket, but if you need anything else related to this topic or another please post a new topic on the forum and we can help you out.
Thanks

MemberGreat thanks for sharing the coding. I am sure someone will find that useful as well or be able to adapt the coding to fit what they would like.

MemberHi,
Sorry for the issues you are having. I can help out here.
Can you download a new version of Pro from your account on tri.be?
Sign in here and go to:
Account Central > Downloads
There you should be able to get to the latest version that way.
You can then deactivate and delete Pro and replace it with the downloaded version from the site.
Let me know if you can get that to work.
Thanks

MemberHi,
That is a good question.
There is the meta field:
_EventOrigin
Which will have
community-events
in it if the event comes from the Community Events Form
Does that help?
Brian
MemberHi,
Thanks for using the Events Calendar, I can try to help you out here.
Unfortunately, we do not have a shortcode so all the views are run through the central slug which be default is events.
It maybe possible to move that over to another template, but it could turn into quite a large project. We are starting to work toward adding shortcodes into the plugin, but I do not have a timeline when they might happen.
Let me know if you have any follow up questions.
Thanks
