ParticipantHi, Jonathan. Those creds don’t seem to work for me. 🙁 Would you mind trying again?
Kelly
ParticipantThanks, pandology. In that case, I’m going to close this thread. Best of luck getting your Facebook import issue resolved! 🙂

ParticipantIf you’d prefer to send by email, you can send one to pro /a/ tri.be. Just be aware that I’m not the one who monitors our email, so it may take a bit longer that way.
Thanks!

ParticipantHi, lewiscenterarts. Since it’s been quite a while since we’ve heard from you, I’m going to close this thread. Please do start a new one if anything else comes up.
Thanks! 🙂

ParticipantHi, pandology. I’m glad to hear your first issue is resolved. That’s great.
As far as the Facebook images go, I haven’t heard reports of incorrect image sizes since in any of our recent versions of the plugin, so that may be something new to us. Would you mind starting a new thread in the Facebook Events Forum so that one of the experts there can help you out with it?
Thanks so much! 🙂

ParticipantHonestly, that sounds like it’s the most expedient solution at this point. You can reply with a private message and I’ll take them down as soon as I receive them to make sure they’re secure. Please include your Eventbrite API key so that we can test the import/display.
Also, please confirm that it’s OK if we make tweaks and apply them! 🙂

ParticipantHi, evertpensado. It sounds like having a freelancer help you out is definitely what the doctor orders.
Here’s a brief list of developers (in no particular order) that we can vouch for that you might want to get in touch with:
- Tamara Zuk @ Enollo (http://enollo.com/) She charges a minimum of $75, which assumes 1.5 hours of development work.
- WerkPress (http://www.werkpress.com) They prefer customization-based projects at a minimum of $500-800.
- Chris Miller (http://launchbrigade.com) They require a $125 consultation before providing an estimate!
- Nick Ciske (http://thoughtrefinery.com/) Nick’s minimum depends on type of work; for now nothing in stone. Keep in mind he used to be a dev on this team, and actually built the Community Events add-on)
- The Mighty Mo! (http://www.themightymo.com/) Their small projects are in the $500-1,000 range and go up from there.
- Donald Grover (http://groverwebdesign.com/) His minimum project amount is $1500.
- Drew Poland (http://www.iheartargyle.com/) Drew’s minimum is at least 1 hour of work @ $125
If you need a cheaper solution, you might check out some of these listings:
- the professionals list at CodePoet http://directory.codepoet.com/browse/
- WordPress Jobs section: http://jobs.wordpress.net/
Hopefully, the above will help you find someone to work on your site. Good luck! 🙂

ParticipantOne more thing, Jonathan. I want to be sure that this isn’t something that’s resulting from a conflict with your theme. Would you mind changing your site to default Twenty Twelve and letting me know if that changes your events from being displayed as though they have already passed?
Thanks!
Kelly
ParticipantHi, monkeeboy. Eventbrite recently updated their API, and with our upcoming release, we’ve modernized the way we interface with it.
I’d recommend that you see how things go after the next maintenance release of our plugins. After that, I’d love to hear if you’re able to import the events with longer descriptions.
Thanks! 🙂

ParticipantOh, for the map, you’ll just need to tick the box in the Event editing screen to have the map displayed. Sorry I missed that!

ParticipantYou know, Jonathan, the more I look into the date issue, the more it looks like an old bug that we’ve had reported before, but never been able to work with a user to troubleshoot deeply enough to bring to a resolution.
As far as I can tell, the issue is not that the date imported is wrong, it’s that your calendar is showing that the event has passed when it hasn’t.
I’d like to bring this to our devs’ attention and ask if there’s any further info they’ll need from you to troubleshoot. Then, I can get back to you about how to proceed.
One more question, are you running this as part of a multisite installation?

ParticipantThanks, Jonathan. I’ll dig through this and see if I can come up with something.
As far as the map goes, I’m sorry but I don’t see what you’re getting at. How is it different that what you expect to see?
Kelly
ParticipantHi, Cynthia. I wanted to check in and see how you were doing. Did that snippet resolve the issue for you?
Kelly
ParticipantSounds good, Sean. I’ll close this thread for now, but please feel free to start a new one if anything else comes up!
Thanks for being a TEC user!
Kelly
ParticipantThanks for letting us know, bogptrsn. Glad it was a simple fix.
Since it sounds like you’re set, I’m going to close this thread. Please start a fresh one if anything else comes up!
