MemberHi Adam,
I’m sorry to hear you are hitting difficulties here.
Can you provide a little more detail about what you are experiencing though and perhaps link us to an example or examples? I visited the URL you provided and located a recurring event with three instances (one occurring each day Feb 7-9 inclusive) which appeared as expected within month view.
If you can point us to an example of an event that isn’t working though that would be awesome.
@emspam: please do feel free to monitor this thread, generally speaking though its best to create a new thread of your own. With that in mind I’d ask that if you have further questions or any solution we find for Adam doesn’t apply in your case that you create a new thread. Thanks!

MemberYes, I would say that is beyond what we can help you with.
Wait…since you already told me the field names here: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/data-dictionary-database-fields-needed-for-csv-import/
And “event_category” is one of them…
So unless I misunderstood things, that question was in connection with the CSV import tool and it does indeed look for an event category field. Here though you are asking about modifying the Facebook importer and want to alter a number of behaviours there – and that’s sufficiently custom that we can’t help.
That said, if you think this is something that would be desirable to lots of users please do post a feature request explaining what you want to achieve and we’ll certainly consider it.
Thanks!

MemberOK, thanks for the update.
It sounds then like the second possibility I suggested is true – and there is effectively no main blog loop (in a WordPress sense). Instead, they are using their own custom query.
The author further implied that though the line numbers might change from theme to theme, this modification would be necessary in 6/7 themes by Industrial themes if you want to include the events in the loop as they specialize in themes w custom post types.
We appreciate the insight. In summary then, based on what you’re telling us, it sounds like this is a stable of themes where our built-in integrate events in main blog loop functionality effectively won’t work – because they don’t actually have a main blog loop in the normal sense of the term. So, yes, some customization work will always be necessary in situations like this, I’m afraid.
I’ll go ahead and close this since you’ve arrived at a solution – and if there is anything else we can help with please do create a new thread or threads as needed.
Thanks!

MemberAhh, I see. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Well unfortunately no – those URL query variables are not intended to be editable. I suspect the mechanics of adjusting them could be tricky as they may be hardwired into various supporting assets. What I’d suggest if you feel strongly about it is either engaging a developer to investigate this further or else posting a feature request along the lines of making those query variables more generic (however, I can’t guarantee we’d accept such a request as they are ‘namespaced’ in this manner partly to avoid collisions).
is there really no way to edit my own comment/post on this thread?
At this time I’m afraid you should not expect to be able to edit your comments (there are a few quirks we are currently working through with the forum software).

MemberHi Stefan,
I’m sorry but I seem unable to login. I’m not actually sure what represents the username and what is the password in your last post – can you clarify?
