For some reason when I create a recurring event only it publishes like it’s a single day event, the recurring dates don’t get published and don’t show up on the calendar.

EDIT FEB 15: I think I accidently clicked the “this is resolved” option when it’s not. D’oh…

Had the same problem when I set the recurrence end-date to “never.” If I changed “never” to end “after” a certain number of recurrences, it worked. Most of our recurrences are annual, so this was an acceptable work-around for now.
Not sure is this is related, but I also had a plugin issue such that google maps did not render correctly. Determining the misbehaving plugin is a low priority at the moment so have not investigated further.

    Hi Adam,

I’m sorry to hear you are hitting difficulties here.

Can you provide a little more detail about what you are experiencing though and perhaps link us to an example or examples? I visited the URL you provided and located a recurring event with three instances (one occurring each day Feb 7-9 inclusive) which appeared as expected within month view.

If you can point us to an example of an event that isn’t working though that would be awesome.

: please do feel free to monitor this thread, generally speaking though its best to create a new thread of your own. With that in mind I’d ask that if you have further questions or any solution we find for Adam doesn’t apply in your case that you create a new thread.

    Thanks!

    Hi Barry,

The Song and Surf event was created in a previous version of Events Calendar (don’t remember which one).

An even that is affected is one for called Rock the Shores which happens over three days in July: http://victoriamusicscene.com/concert/rock-the-shores-2014/

On Month view it only shows up on the Friday. It should appear Friday the 11th, Saturday the 12th and Sunday the 13th.

Here is a framegrab of the wordpress dashboard with the event time date info. http://imgur.com/J7ezVeD
I originally set the recurrence as “every day”, but when that didn’t work I tried “custom” and when that didn’t work I just left it.

    Hi Adam,

Thanks for sharing that: so I can replicate the problem and it certainly looks like a bug – that said, in this particular case, would it be possible to switch away from a custom recurrence pattern and use the purpose built Every Day pattern?

That might let you workaround this until we can deliver a fix.

That’s the problem. I originally tried setting the event to Every Day and it doesn’t recur.

Can you clarify, does this happen even if you create a new event which recurs from the very beginning, or are you finding it is restricted to events that are created as single events first of all that you subsequently convert (or try to convert) to recurring events?

It happens when I create a new event.

Also to be totally clear, it also happens when if I were to change a single event to recurring as well. Pretty much recurring events aren’t recurring no matter what I do.

    Apologies for the delay.

So I think we’re seeing subtly different things in that case. I do appreciate you already noted having tried deactivating all other plugins/switching to a default theme – can you confirm if that made any difference?

After switching to a default theme (WordPress’ 2013 one) and turning off all other plugins. I then tried to create a new recurring event and got same result. The recurring days don’t get created.

That’s ok – since you went ahead and created a new thread anyway we’ll pursue things there (and we’ll keep this one closed).
