MemberYes – so would a rule like this work for the present day background?
.tribe-events-calendar td.tribe-events-present div[id*="tribe-events-daynum-"] { background: pink }July 29, 2014 at 7:19 am in reply to: Calendar Widget links not working, even after applying the usual fix #532646Barry
MemberHi Patrick,
Thanks for sharing!
The problem seems to be that the script used to power the calendar is absent. Does your theme include a wp_footer() call? That’s a basic requirement that would need to be in place.
Though theme’s can have widely varying structures, you might expect to see this in the footer.php template – can you check that out and potentially add it if it is missing?

MemberIn addition to this, since I have installed the Pro version of the plugin, none of my ‘single event’ pages are working (I’m getting a ‘Page not found’ message when I navigate to the page).
OK – solving this potentially could be as simple as visiting the Permalink Settings screen in order to trigger a refresh of WordPress’s rewrite rules, but as we try hard to stick to one issue per topic I’d ask that you create a new thread if you need further help with this/anything beyond the initially described pagination issues 🙂
I just reverted the template to the default, and while this fixes the first problem, the second problem still persists.
Great that we solved part of it at least 🙂
Second problem: Following on from problem #1, when I click the ‘next events’ button, I am taken to a page which says there are ‘no upcoming events’. It seems as though I am being redirected to the wrong URL at this point.
I’d like to note first of all that it still very much looks like a custom template (perhaps you restored it, or perhaps this is again a caching issue that you may not see if you are logged in).
That said, if I navigate back using the previous events link, then hit the next events link, there are a number of curious effects but I don’t believe any of these would manifest using our calendar without any customizations.
As an alternative way to tackle this, how about setting up a fresh install with nothing but our plugins (don’t even add your theme, initially). Does everything work as expected under those conditions? Assuming for the moment it does, begin adding all the components that make up the “real” site and test at each stage to see which introduce the problems you are facing.
I suspect much of this may relate to your theme or the event-related customizations within it, but if you have any doubt this would be a great way to get to the bottom of things.

MemberI’m not sure that is the correct piece of code – that looks like the section that prints the title in the sense of the title tag that displays in your browser tab/top of the browser window, whereas we’re looking for a title that displays within the page itself.
The code you’re looking for probably lies some point after the opening <body> tag.
Does that help at all?

MemberThe one that gave me the API error whose community page previously worked fine is:
https://www.facebook.com/FerretSheltersDirectoryThanks for confirming – it basically seems to work for me, albeit it does not currently have any upcoming events (I do see it has an ongoing event, but Facebook will not return this when we ask for a list of upcoming/future events).
The event is:
https://www.facebook.com/events/810216152346274/Hmm, interestingly it works perfectly for me.
Could it be that this was a temporary glitch? Or, alternatively, are you positive that your API key and secret (as entered in the Events → Settings → Facebook admin screen) are correct?
Barry
MemberMy pleasure 🙂
I’ll go ahead and close this topic – but if we can help with any other questions please feel free to post new topics as needed and one of the team will be only too happy to help.
Thanks!

MemberManually updating is perhaps the easiest way forward in the short-term.
Let’s say you grab a copy of PRO from our downloads page. You could unzip this on your computer and you should end up with a folder called something like events-calendar-pro.
From there, connect to your server by FTP and find the root of your WordPress installation (this might be within a directory called public_html, though this varies on a host-by-host basis). Then, navigate to wp-content/plugins and you should see all of the existing plugin directories.
You have two choices here: you could first delete the existing Events Calendar PRO directory, or, you could simply overwrite it with your freshly unzipped files.
Putting aside the use of FTP for the moment, a further alternative would be to deactivate and delete each plugin from the plugins admin screen – then upload the .zip file (this time, of course, you would not unzip it first of all) through the interface provided by WordPress itself (Plugins → Add New → Upload).
Whichever approach you follow, remember to play it safe and make a full and complete back-up first of all!
Does that help?

MemberSometimes if you activate a new plugin (or add code to your theme) or even if your theme/a plugin is updated the rewrite rules – which WordPress uses to handle requests – can be modified.
Every now and again such a change will not play nicely with existing rules and cause a situation like this one. Generally it shouldn’t happen but if and when it does, this is often a quick way of fixing things 🙂
Glad it’s sorted in any case and I will now go ahead and close this thread – but of course if we can help with anything else definitely feel free to create new topics as needed. Also, if you happen to have a moment to spare, we’d love to hear about your experiences with The Events Calendar so far over on our plugin review page.
Thanks again!

MemberOK, strange stuff. I definitely think we should wait out and see what the theme devs think, possibly they’ll be able to pin this down straight away especially if you let them know we suspect a poly-fill for placeholder atttributes is (potentially) to blame 🙂

MemberHi Amanda,
Great to hear you’re thinking of trying our PRO.
You’re right that there are a few difficulties in getting Headway and The Events Calendar to mesh, but potentially this would indeed offer you a way forward (and we’d love to hear the outcome 🙂 ).
That said, we don’t offer trial copies but generally we’re happy to offer a refund if it turns out you can’t make use of one of our plugins (though I can’t guarantee anything, as really each refund request is assessed on a case-by-case basis).
Does that answer your question?
Barry
MemberHi – sorry to hear you are hitting difficulties.
It works well for me when I test it out – but can you describe if you are seeing any error messages and/or link me to one of the events you are trying to push to Eventbrite?
Thanks!
