Facebook Events No Longer Importing – Reinstalled and Now Received Error

Events had been importing without issue but stopped doing so within the past couple of weeks – not sure exactly when as I have not opened the function to new groups while awaiting for release 3.7 to fix the time issues. I landed up removing FB events; then reinstalling it as I have a long history of messing with the plug-in and it’s idiosyncrasies https://tri.be/support/forums/topic/facebook-events-no-longer-importingtimes-incorrect/ so know the drill… and then came up with the following error:

Facebook API Error: Unsupported get request. Please read the Graph API documentation at https://developers.facebook.com/docs/graph-api

The credentials all seem correct for Events and for the FB API.

1) what could have caused it to stop importing and
2) how do I fix it.

Hi: I’m sorry you’re hitting difficulties here.

Can you confirm if this is a problem for all of the pages/identities you are importing from? Can you share a couple of examples (that is, share the relevant Facebook URLs so I can test things out from over here)?

Just tested with one of our other community pages and that is working via an import.

The one that gave me the API error whose community page previously worked fine is:
https://www.facebook.com/FerretSheltersDirectory
The event is:
https://www.facebook.com/events/810216152346274/

The previous event (which is no longer there but is in our event listing as a past event) is https://www.facebook.com/events/1492625560953437/permalink/1506613996221260/

Thanks for confirming – it basically seems to work for me, albeit it does not currently have any upcoming events (I do see it has an ongoing event, but Facebook will not return this when we ask for a list of upcoming/future events).

Hmm, interestingly it works perfectly for me.

Could it be that this was a temporary glitch? Or, alternatively, are you positive that your API key and secret (as entered in the Events → Settings → Facebook admin screen) are correct?
