MemberPlease create a new thread of your own and one of the team will be happy to assist!
I appreciate the problems all seem related, but threads quickly become very confusing where there is more than one user all at different stages in the troubleshooting process.
Thanks!
Barry
MemberFantastic ๐
I’ll go ahead and close out this thread – but if we can help with anything else definitely open new threads as needed and let us know – thanks again!

MemberHi Puja,
I do apologize for missing your post (and thanks for the prompt on Twitter!) … unfortunately, a glitch in our forum tools – since fixed – stopped us from being notified when someone other than the original poster updated a thread.
That said, we do typically ask that you create a new thread of your own wherever possible. That’s not necessary on this occasion, the last thing I want it to delay you further, but it can avoid confusion especially if the person originally seeking help is actually facing a different underlying problem or is at a different stage in the troubleshooting process.
โThere is an update available for The Events Calendar PRO but your license key is out of installs. Visit the Modern Tribe website to manage your installs, upgrade your license, or purchase a new one.โ
I bought this a few weeks/a month ago so how come my license key is out of installs? Please help.
If you’ve used your license key on more than one domain and in so doing have exceeded the number of sites permitted by your license this might occur. It could be you’re basically running it on the same site but changed the domain, or it could even potentially be that you initially made use of the www subdomain (ie, your site was http://www.example.com) but you subsequently removed that and used the domain by itself, or something else of that order.
Whatever the case, what I’d suggest in the first instance is visiting our license key management page then clearing one or more entries. Once that’s done, return to your site and re-enter the license key or, if it’s already present, try re-saving the page.
Does that help at all?

MemberThanks for sharing the code, hopefully that will indeed help some fellow users ๐
Re the problem at hand, I notice you are using a caching plugin (looks like WP Super Cache). When you ran through those troubleshooting steps did you follow the plugin author’s instructions on completing removing the cache?
The reason I ask is that merely deactivating a caching plugin does not guarantee caching will cease immediately – so you may have run through those steps but be looking at side effects of caching. It’s important that the .htaccess file is restored to normal and that additional files added to the wp-content directory are also removed, amongst other things.
Can you confirm you did that, or else do so now (you may need to check in with the author of your particular caching plugin for full details of this).
Thanks!
Barry
MemberAwesome, glad that helped.
I’ll go ahead and close this thread but definitely feel free to create new ones as needed if you need assistance with anything else ๐
Last but not least, we’re always keen to hear about our users’ experiences with The Events Calendar … if you have a moment to spare, it would be great to hear from you over on our plugin review page.
Thanks again!

MemberOK. Again, I am experiencing difficulties viewing your site.
It would not load on my first try this morning (ultimately what looked like a page generated by your web host appeared announcing a 524 time out error) and WordPress’sย error establishing a database connection message displayed on another try. Unfortunately, it’s pretty hard to help without seeing the problem first hand.
Looking back, I see you indicated when you opened this thread that you had not yet run through our standard troubleshooting steps. Would you be able to give those a try and see if that helps to resolve this/uncover any conflicts?
Barry
MemberAwesome, happy to hear it ๐
I’ll go ahead and close the thread in that case – as ever do feel free to create new issues as required as and when you need further support. Thanks again!
Barry
MemberAbsolutely. What I’ll do (simply to avoid the thread being “hijacked” and derailed as can occasionally happen) is close this topic for the time being – but as before we’ll do our best to re-open and post updates as soon as we have something to report.
Barry
MemberRight now I’m afraid that is not directly supported.
Irregular patterns (ie something that does not follow into a simple pattern like once/twice/three times every 1st/2nd/3rd day/week/month, etc) and varying times per recurring instance are not directly supported.
One partial workaround is to create a pattern that covers all of the target dates and then delete individual instances – but I appreciate that may not be practical in every case.
Beyond that, this is certainly a popular feature request (feel free to upvote it/comment on it to show your own support) and one we definitely want to drive forward, though I can’t give you any sort of timeframe for that just yet.

MemberHi – I’m sorry you are experiencing difficulties.
Can you confirm if you have events in the following month? By default, The Events Calendar will not provide pagination links that lead to months outwith the populated date range: that said we did recently find a bug in relation to this – so if you do have events in the future that you cannot navigate to, you may need to visit one of those events and re-save.
Does that help at all?

MemberHi northpointe,
I don’t see why not ๐
It’s definitely something where you’d need to do a customization or two, but perhaps if you were happy to tag events as “Major Events” or something of that order you could customize the existing single event template so that it detects this and loads an alternative template?
You can find out more about safely customizing and overriding our templates here.
Does that help?

MemberThat is strange. You already indicated having run through our standard troubleshooting steps which is awesome – thanks for giving them a try:
YES, I’ve deactivated all other plugins to check for a plugin conflict.
YES, I’ve reverted to the 2011 default WordPress theme (with other plugins still deactivated) to check for a theme conflict.Just for the avoidance of doubt, can you confirm that they made no impact (or let me know if they helped you to discover a conflict here)?

I wish we could do more – but it works in such a way that only they can really change the layout, workflow etc within that iframe.
I’ll go ahead and close out this thread – but if we can help with anything else please don’t hesitate to create a new thread and one of the team will be only too happy to assist.
Last but not least, we’d love to hear your thoughts on The Events Calendar over on our review page – it’s a great way for us to learn what we’re doing right and what we might be getting wrong – thanks again!

MemberHi – great questions!
1.) is there a way to populate a users location based on where device is and make a url: … I see you have a consistent format, any way to do thisโฆmaybe another plugin I can purchase..haha, that lets me find events nearby with a single click.
That’s an interesting idea and I’m sure you could explore something like this. No specific plugins come to mind but there are definitely tools out there on which you could build something like this.
2.) I have repeating events and show only first instance clicked, except it shows the last instance in them. I have 3 repeating events, 2 of 3 are showing last events.
I visited your site but I couldn’t immediately locate an example of this problem – could you steer me in the right direction, there?
As a sidenote, the view of the current week’s events that you built on your frontpage looks fantastic – was that something you implemented yourself?
Barry
MemberHi – great question!
There’s actually no built-in mechanism for doing this. However, this unofficial plugin (not supported by us) provides the capability to set your Main Events Page as the front page of the blog so that might be worth a try.
Beyond that the only other paths are doing this via your own customization – or by embedding the calendar widget in the front page and customizing the templates used to generate it appropriately.
Does that help at all?
