MemberHi Scott,
We do have a product called Community Events which lets users submit events.
What it doesn’t do, out of the box, is facilitate the selling of space – but it could certainly be a working foundation for a more complete solution tailored to your needs.
Between Community Events and our core plugin, The Events Calendar, there are no shortage of hooks and other customization opportunities so this could definitely be a great platform for you to build on 🙂
I hope that answers your question, but please don’t hesitate to let me know if we can help with anything else.

MemberHi nickfmc,
My guess is that you have no events prior to November (I certainly don’t see any if I navigate directly to October or September, etc) and none after December.
The way things are currently geared, month view pagination will not take you outwith the range of populated months. So, assuming I’m correct and you currently have events only in November and December, you will not be able to jump on to January unless you do so directly via the datepicker.
If you do jump directly to another month – let’s say February 2015 – that’s fine and it will provide the necessary links to lead you back to the populated range of months, but won’t allow you to move further out into the void.
In other words, this is sounding like the expected behaviour. Does that clarify things?

MemberIf you can, please visit http://dupagechildrens.org/events/2014-12/ and hover over the “Bubble Bash” event on December 6.
Is it possible you already removed that event? I’m afraid I cannot see it.
I do see an event on that same date entitled December Insect Zoo by Anderson Pest Solutions, though, the tooltip for which seems to relate to a different event called Tiny Great Performances: DuPage Symphony Orchestra.
Is that essentially the same problem?
I think the best course of action, as in the original thread you referenced, would be to try and replicate this in a duplicate test/staging environment – then run through our standard troubleshooting steps (unless of course you can do that on your live site). Otherwise I’m not sure how much progress we’re going to be able to make with this one.
Is that possible?
November 17, 2014 at 4:02 pm in reply to: Tickets not being sent via email (and I have marked order as "completed") #888418Barry
MemberThat is odd, particularly as it sounds like the other emails are indeed being dispatched and received.
I do notice that the 2nd email to say the order has been “completed” also doesn’t say “you’ll recieve your tickets in another email” like your primer video does.
This is definitely a bit concerning. Once the order is completed, the customer should indeed receive an appropriate order is complete email and it should include some text as follows:
You’ll receive your tickets in another email.
The email containing the actual tickets should be dispatched almost immediately after this. The fact that you don’t see the above text, though, has me wondering if something else other than email/hosting woes is at play.
It doesn’t look like you’ve been able to run through our standard troubleshooting/conflict test steps yet – would you be able to give those a go and see if that uncovers anything?
November 17, 2014 at 3:54 pm in reply to: Editing the Event in WP cancels Eventbrite Registration #888407Barry
MemberHi there cmes,
I’m sorry you’re experiencing difficulties
Unfortunately I don’t seem able to replicate this problem. Here’s what I tried:
- I created a new event
- Setup an Eventbrite ticket from within the event editor and set it to “go live”
- Published
- The event was correctly set up on Eventbrite
- I then edited the same event by changing the description
- Upon hitting update, I found it was still associated with the same event (which remained live and visible on eventbrite.com)
Is there a step I’m missing or anything I’d need to do differently to see the problem? Alternatively, can you confirm you did indeed run through our standard troubleshooting/conflict test steps and that these did not reveal any conflicts or anything of that order?
Thanks!
Barry
MemberHmm, something definitely seems to be amiss there.
It looks like you haven’t yet had a chance to run through our standard troubleshooting/conflict test steps. Would you be able to give those a go and see if something – be it another plugin or your theme – is impacting here?
Let me know how you get on 🙂

MemberHi there chrispylon,
It’s worth being mindful that some old threads like this (over a year old at this stage) may not be monitored by the original authors – so often it is best to create a fresh thread of your own and, if you need to, add a link to another thread like this one if it provides some extra context 🙂
Please also note that though it’s still technically possible to use some of the functions mentioned above they are all or mostly part of a system known as the meta walker which has now been deprecated and will probably be removed in an upcoming release … so I’d strongly advise against their use.
With that in mind I’ll go ahead and close this thread. Definitely feel free to post a new one, though, detailing what you’re trying to do and one of the team will be happy to at least point you in the right direction 🙂
Thanks again!

MemberHi roi,
Sorry to hear it was a less than seamless experience :-/
After deactivating all other plugins through ftp by moving them to a non-active plugins folder we could work again on the admin panel and we were able to set language back to English.
So was this a conflict with another plugin? In other words, do you find the same problem occurs when you are running only a default theme, The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO?
November 17, 2014 at 12:55 pm in reply to: events listing not showing up in backend when activating pro #888201Barry
MemberSorry to hear you’re experiencing difficulties.
Something certainly seems to be amiss in that a table alias isn’t being defined earlier on in the query. Before we go any further can you confirm a couple of things for me?
- I see you noted you are using 3.8.1 but can you confirm that is both the version of your currently installed copy of The Events Calendar and is also the version of the copy of Events Calendar PRO that you are adding?
- You already seem to have run through our standard troubleshooting steps – can you confirm that these did not allow you to identify any conflicts, or run through them now if you haven’t already done so?
Thanks!
November 17, 2014 at 12:46 pm in reply to: WP Spider Hitting Event Calendar and Causing excessive CPU issues #888186Barry
MemberHi Marcy,
I’m sorry you had such problems.
I don’t have any particular knowledge of “WP Spider” but if you are able to identify this particular user agent and it is, as you say, a spam bot (so not something you want to encourage in the first place) perhaps you could block it altogether?
Your host may be able to help you out there and put a rule in place to block it.
Would that be viable here?
Barry
MemberHi dkiessling,
I’m sorry to hear it isn’t working for you.
In the first instance can you simply visit Settings → Permalinks (no need to save anything) and then see if your single event pages work as expected?
If that doesn’t help can you run through our complete conflict test/troubleshooting steps and see if that helps or uncovers any conflicts?
Let me know how you get on!
November 17, 2014 at 7:46 am in reply to: Issue with uploading new plugin for Events Calender 3.8.1 & Pro #887753Barry
MemberI’m sorry you had such a rough ride with this.
Previous versions are indeed available both here (if you need a copy of a premium plugin) and on wordpress.org (if you need older versions of our core plugin).
It’s really unfortunate you can’t upgrade and I wonder if this relates to our new welcome/splash screen, as a few users did indeed report some redirect problems with this (though it wasn’t a consistent or widespread issue). We’re actually in the final stages of preparing our next release which includes some tweaks that will hopefully address this problem in those installations that are impacted.
With that in mind, it may be best to use 3.8 for the time being and update when our very next release arrives.
November 17, 2014 at 7:33 am in reply to: Events are listed backwards- Today's Events don't show first #887735Barry
MemberGlad your issue is resolved, Brandon Duncan!
Just a note though that it is almost always best to create a new thread of your own, regardless of how similar it may appear to someone else’s.
As I’m sure you can appreciate it can be especially tricky to assist multiple people with similar but potentially different problems, all at different stages of the troubleshooting process, within the same thread: sticking to one thread per issue per user is far more effective, reduces noise and let’s us focus on helping each individual 🙂
So I go to this screen and do not know what to toggle? Mind filling me in on what tab and what selection to make?
Apologies for not being clearer.
If you visit Events → Settings → General (ie, the first tab on that screen) you should see an option marked include events in main blog loop. Unchecking this – and of course hitting the save button – should remove events from your main blog loop.
The entire list in the center as shown puts it in the wrong order. These posts of events show the last date which is in January. This is a calendar program and needs to show the Current Events first, like a calendar should.
Integrating events into a blog loop presents some challenges if you want the events to respect date order – regardless of whether that is ascending or descending order – since your blog posts continue to be ordered by publication date.
Experience and customer feedback has generally shown us that the current approach is the best fit in general, but it is certainly possible to reconfigure it. In this case, though, might it be easiest to turn off the setting I detailed above and remove them from the main blog loop entirely?
If you do want to change the direction in which they are ordered (or the field by which they are ordered), though, you can – pleases see the following resource for an example of doing this:
https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/order-events-in-main-blog-loop-by-post-date/
I hope that helps 🙂
Barry
MemberOK, thanks for clarifying. When you click edit single which event are you breaking out? Is it the first in the sequence (ie, is it the parent or “master” event, so to speak)?
November 14, 2014 at 2:11 pm in reply to: Events are listed backwards- Today's Events don't show first #885255Barry
MemberAre you logging into the main site allekiskicalendar.com to see it as others would?
Yes – unless you provide credentials there is no other way for us to view it 🙂
When I call up the main page in the main window I see the Central Presbyterian Church Clothing Closet which is the last event in the database dated in January.
OK, so you’re referring to the main blog loop on the front page of your site?
When this setting is enabled events are ordered in such a way that the furthest in the future are included first of all: is that not what you want? How do you want them to be integrated (or would you prefer not to have them show up within the main blog loop? If not, you can toggle this from the Events > Settings screen).
Let me know!
