    Hi Katy,

I’m sorry it’s not working for you.

It does sound like you’ve seen a link between installing WooCommerce Tickets and this problem arising, but it could still be something else which is at play.

Let’s think about the following first of all:

    • Is it possible the emails are actually being sent, but are being automatically placed in recipients’ trash/junk folders?
    • Are order receipts successfully being sent for non-ticket purchases?
    • If the answer to the above is no, what happens if you temporarily deactivate WooCommerce Tickets and place an order then – do the emails come through?
    • If they don’t come through for non ticket purchases, whether or not WooCommerce Tickets is active, perhaps there is some other conflict blocking WooCommerce or stopping wp_mail() (the part of WordPress that sends emails) from working?
    • Ultimately, would you be able to run through our standard troubleshooting steps – but be sure not to deactivate WooCommerce itself – and see if you can uncover any conflicts?

Thanks – and let me know how you get on 🙂

Tested with testing procedures and on a side not TubePress created an error with import:facebook

I’m not exactly sure what you’re describing here – but if it is something unrelated to recurring event cleanup/scheduled tasks would you mind posting it in a new topic?

We do try hard to stick to one issue per topic in order to ensure fair and fast service for everybody 🙂

    Thanks!

    Hi jrtoy4311,

I’m sorry to hear you are hitting up against some difficulties here.

I have my clean up recurring events to 1 month, but it’s not cleaning up…

So just to clarify, you’ve configured the clean up recurring events after setting to 1 month in Events → Settings → General, but you still have recurring events which expired more than a month ago showing up?

The cleanup mechanism relies on scheduled tasks which, in some hosting environments, do not work as expected due to various constraints.

It’s possible that might be the case here, too. There are a number of plugins that might be useful in such a scenario that you could try out and, if your hosting environment allows it, you could also consider setting up a real cron job to handle this (and your host might be able to help you configure this via CPanel, if you have that sort of control panel available).

Could you look into some of those options and see if they help?

    Hi there kmengvik,

    I’m sorry you’re hitting difficulties.

I looked at the checkbox options below, and in advance I can say that is out of the question both to “deactivate all other plugins to check for a plugin conflict” and “revert to the Twenty Fourteen default WordPress theme (with other plugins still deactivated) to check for a theme conflict”

OK, so unfortunately in this case I can’t tell why this problem has arisen just by looking at week view on your site  (sometimes that’s possible and we can pinpoint the conflict or problem based on a quick inspection, but I’m not seeing any useful clues on this occasion).

Before we go any further, though, can you visit Events → Settings → Display and see if toggling the default template setting between Default Events Template and Default Page Template makes any difference?

If that doesn’t help, then the next logical step would be to run through our standard troubleshooting steps. I do understand your reluctance to do so, especially on a live site, but you can effectively do this on a test installation without touching the live site.

Simply create a fresh WordPress installation in a subdirectory and install only our plugins to start with: does the problem manifest itself then? Assuming it does not, simply begin adding the same stack of plugins and theme as you have on your live site and try to determine which if any are causing the issue.

Would that be possible here? Let me know how you get on!

So that notice is more a friendly warning than an error as such. You could correct it by adding a new line right above the line in question (so immediately after the function opens):

    if ( ! isset( $query->query_vars['eventDisplay'] ) ) return;

Does that work for you? (Remember also that, in a live/production environment, you should really have the display of errors turned off!)

    Hi mauitime,

is there any way to block community users from creating a venue that is the same as one that is already there?

Yes that should be possible as a customization – however there are some practical difficulties in doing so: unless you are finding the duplicated venues people are creating are identical in every way (name, street address, etc) you would need to define some sort of criteria to catch what you feel counts as a duplicate.

For instance, two people might refer to the same venue by two different names – and the actual address could be identical. But occasionally this is legitimate. Or someone might misspell the city name, or something of that order, but actually be referring to a pre-existing venue (it’s hard for a piece of software to pick up on this sort of thing though, given the range of possible place names and potential similarity between some of them).

In situations like those you’d need to be pretty careful about how you apply such a customization.

is there any way to prevent any user from creating a venue that is already created?

So for this question by any user are you including admin users? If so, that may be possible but would certainly require some amount of relatively advanced customization work.

Is there a way to have an advanced (taxonomy) post manager in the venue system?

I would like to show a couple of fields on the venue list, like the address, phone and a couple of other items, so that when i am reviewing or approving pending i can check the info without having to click into the venue to review.

    Again, possible but customization territory.

That said I definitely see the worth in adding additional columns to the admin venue list to show the address – and we would welcome any feature request you might post along these lines 🙂

    I hope that helps/clarifies things.

    Hi!

I’m not sure this is connected with the update so much as being a facet of Twenty Fourteen. For anything other than posts it will not display the date.

    Does that help/clarify things?

    Hi Eugene,

You have valid licenses and so you can post here in our premium forums but shouldn’t need to wait a week for an answer – that really only applies to users without a license who post on our open wordpress.org forum.

Do note, however, that there is often a 24hr delay before we can respond to posts – especially at busy periods.

stuck with the ticket woo commerce function trying to process a payment through amazon, i get this error:
“We’re sorry, but there’s a problem processing your payment from this website. Please contact the seller for assistance.”

So I’m wondering if there is a problem with the way you have configured WooCommerce/your Amazon payment gateway.

Does this problem only occur with tickets or is it a general problem impacting all WooCommerce products on your store (if you only have tickets, could you set up a test product unrelated to events and see if the same thing happens)?

If it’s a general issue it would be best to approach the team at WooThemes or whomever you purchased the Amazon payment gateway from for assistance as WooCommerce Tickets itself doesn’t actually interfere in the payment process.

Let me know how you get on!

in reply to: Time zones changed when imported from EventBrite #928961

Try as I may (and despite having read your email numerous times) I cannot think of a single instance where it would be useful to convert the time zones.

Well, just for illustration purposes (and in case it helps others coming across this topic):

8am GMT and 8am PST are of course two completely different times. Suppose your site is set to use the PST timezone and you import an event taking place at 8am GMT over in London.

If no conversion takes place and we import it as if it were taking place at 8am PST (so, 8hrs later than the true time) then it will continue to show in the main upcoming events list (plus other views/widgets) even after it has ended – pushing other current/future events further down the list or even onto other pages.

Switch that around and the reverse is true – if a London based blog imports an event actually taking place at 8am PST but imports it as if it were 8am GMT that will see the event vanishing from upcoming event lists 8hrs too early.

I agree that isn’t going to be ideal in every case but it’s actually something that was introduced in response to customer feedback (particularly concerning the second of the scenarios I described).

Either way, I hear you that a solution is coming, which I eagerly await :-)

Absolutely, and I have linked this topic with the matching report on our internal issue tracker – so we’ll do our best to re-open this and post an update as and when work on this progresses.

    Thanks again!

    Pleasure 🙂

I’ll close this topic for the time being – but I’ve linked it to the corresponding report on our internal bug tracker and we’ll do our best to re-open it and post an update as and when progress is made on this issue.

    Thanks again for your patience!
