MemberHi jrtoy4311,
I’m sorry to hear you are hitting up against some difficulties here.
I have my clean up recurring events to 1 month, but it’s not cleaning up…
So just to clarify, you’ve configured the clean up recurring events after setting to 1 month in Events → Settings → General, but you still have recurring events which expired more than a month ago showing up?
The cleanup mechanism relies on scheduled tasks which, in some hosting environments, do not work as expected due to various constraints.
It’s possible that might be the case here, too. There are a number of plugins that might be useful in such a scenario that you could try out and, if your hosting environment allows it, you could also consider setting up a real cron job to handle this (and your host might be able to help you configure this via CPanel, if you have that sort of control panel available).
Could you look into some of those options and see if they help?

I’m not exactly sure what you’re describing here – but if it is something unrelated to recurring event cleanup/scheduled tasks would you mind posting it in a new topic?
We do try hard to stick to one issue per topic in order to ensure fair and fast service for everybody 🙂
Thanks!

Participantthanks for reply. sounds like my hosting (dreamhost) would need to allow scheduled task. any recommendation on a plugin in general that can remove past events for me (both one time and recurring?

MemberRight at this time I’m afraid I don’t have any specific recommendations to offer on that count. We’d definitely be open to any requests for new/extended functionality that handles this, though, if you’d like to post a request 🙂

ok posted request. even just an option in the settings to remove events expired older than … would be helpful way to clean up database.

MemberDefinitely sounds sensible to me 🙂
We regularly review feature requests and will assess in due course (and thanks for posting the link – for anyone else that is interested in this, please do add your support over on UserVoice!).
There’s not too much more we can do right now so I’m going to close this topic but please don’t hesitate to create new ones if we can assist with anything else that might crop up.
Thanks again!
