MemberGlad it’s working and my apologies for the mixup over NL and DK – I can only blame a lack of caffeine 🙁
In any case, thanks for marking this as resolved and if anything else crops up please just let us know by creating a new topic and one of the team will be only too happy to help 🙂

Member…To add, if you want to go ahead and update that first event please just update this topic when you’re done so we can take a look.

MemberHi David,
Please avoid private replies unless you are sharing information such as URLs that cannot be publicly disclosed – otherwise, the topic will be unreadable for other customers who might be researching the forum in the future 🙂
What is the javascript error you think might be causing the issue?
I see two type errors, both relate to evolux/js/jquery.custom.js:
- jQuery.fn.cycle2 is undefined
- jQuery(…).smartresize is not a function

MemberThanks!
Let’s focus on the current stable release for the moment since that’s where you found the problem (and that is still the currently supported version of the plugin).

MemberHi Erika,
Almost anything is possible!
That said, we don’t offer technical support here in pre-sales and, admittedly, the level of support we could offer even for license holders would be limited for this sort of customization.
If you do have further questions, though, feel free to ask them – but I’d request you do so either on our premium forums (if you have a valid license key) or else on our wordpress.org forum.
Thanks!

MemberHi drdawnliu,
I’m sorry you’ve had such a rough experience.
Since we’re close to the end of the working day already it may be tricky to pin this one down (unless you can replicate the same thing with another test event).
Even so, I’d love to know what the URL of the event is both on eventbrite.com and on your own WordPress site (if you are happy to share those – even by private reply – that would be great).
Thanks!

MemberHi Jason,
Not right now – though third party plugin Event Rocket does add basic RSVP capabilities to The Events Calendar so that may be useful to you.
Beyond that, we’re investigating a more comprehensive suite of RSVP-like facilities for possible inclusion in a future release, as a compliment to our range of ticketing solutions.
Does that help?

MemberHi there!
I’d be happy to point you in the right direction if I can – but I do want to note first of all that custom code is typically not something we can offer a great deal of support for.
With that out of the way, it’s worth noting that events do not use the same categories as blog posts – they use a separate, event-specific type of category. Here’s a couple of things you can try:
- Switch to tribe_get_events() instead of get_posts()
- If you use this function, you don’t need to specify the post type
- You may wish to pass a tribe_events_cat argument in place of category__in
- Additionally, depending on the sort of results you are hoping for, you may wish to provide an eventDisplay argument set to list
Last but not least, be sure to check out this helpful knowledgebase article:
heeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/using-tribe_get_events
Good luck!

MemberHi David,
I’m sorry you’ve hit up against difficulties.
I have tried disabling all plugins as well as changing themes but the behavior continues.
Can you confirm which theme you switched to (was it a default, unmodified theme such as Twenty Fifteen)? The reason I ask is that I see a Javascript type error relating to some code that ships as part of your theme (“Evolux”).
This may not be the ultimate issue but it certainly seems like a likely culprit and, if nothing else, should be cleaned up to allow further troubleshooting.

MemberHi victorymusic,
I’m sorry first of all that you’ve had such a disruptive experience.
This sounds like a classic conflict and some sort of “collision” is probably taking place with another plugin or your theme.
If you start with just The Events Calendar, Community Events and a default (and unmodified) theme such as Twenty Fifteen – and then activate Events Calendar PRO, does it work as expected?
Assuming for the moment it does, begin activating all the other plugins (and ultimately your theme) until you discover which component if any is in conflict with our own.
Could you give that a try and let me know how you get on?
Thanks!
Barry
MemberHi Marty,
Thanks for getting in touch.
Backwards compatibility is not something we take lightly — we have actually been at pains to minimize disruption and, for a great many of our users, the update experience should be seamless.
The picture is admittedly a little different for those installations where customizations have been made, but even then we’ve done our best to reduce the impact as much as possible (also, some and even the majority of customizations should continue to work as expected).
In communicating these changes as early as possible – and in making release candidates available – we hope that we’ve increased the ability for developers and designers to prepare effectively in anticipation of the final release.
I’d definitely be interested to know if you have reviewed our related blog post and have specific concerns or other feedback – and indeed if you’ve had an opportunity to take advantage of the release candidates and found them useful?
Thanks for your continued support and do let me know if there’s anything more we can do, here.

MemberThis is really odd.
Though we do see redirect issues from time to time with recurring events, I can’t recall any other reports that echo exactly what you’ve detailed here.
I realize when you opened this topic you indicated that you had already completed our standard troubleshooting steps: just for the avoidance of any doubt, can you confirm you did test things out with nothing else running and found there were no conflicts?
Also, is the problem only with one recurring event/has it cropped up with other events (and do you find you can replicate the problem)?
I’m just wondering if recreating this event with the same recurrence pattern might be a straightforward workaround.

MemberThat is certainly true, I just wanted to stop and check in case some detail had been missed. How about this:
- Can you create two test events, each identical to the other?
- Import one, update, and confirm the same problem repeats itself
- Provide the URL of both so I can test with the other
If we both test in otherwise clean environments and experience different outcomes, that may point us to the source being an account configuration issue or similar.
