MemberI’ll close this thread since it is a duplicate of: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/no-description-of-the-events-page-2/#post-24200
Barry
MemberYes definitely!
I’m guessing you cannot see your descriptive text though – can you provide a link to your site and to one of your events?

MemberHi Alysia, thanks for contacting us!
The Events Calendar (and Events Calendar Pro) do not ship with an [events] shortcode … in the normal run of things the events calendar is made available at:
It is not however a real “page” in the traditional WordPress sense. Instead, The Events Calendar generates this page dynamically. So, some things to try:
1. Can you confirm which versions of The Events Calendar and Events Calendar Pro you are using (you can see the versions by visiting the plugins page)?
2. If you have a normal WordPress page, post or category named “events” there is a possibility that this is conflicting with The Events Calendar. Try trashing this item or renaming it (and renaming the slug).
3. Try deactivating all other plugins except for The Events Calendar and switching to a default theme such as Twenty Eleven (just temporarily) and check if the problem persists.
Let me know how you get on!
Barry
MemberHmm, no I don’t think so – at least not without a little further programming to customize things.
I’m interested to hear a little more of the context behind this though: are you allowing members of the public to post these events which recur to far into the future?

MemberHi Ben, yeah that does make it a little tough to troubleshoot.
Have you tried deactivating all other plugins and switching to a default theme such as Twenty Eleven (just temporarily) to see if that resolves the problem?
Barry
MemberHi Tai. It does look like there is some kind of conflict here – let me take a look and see if there are any known workarounds and I’ll get back to you.
Just bear in mind we can’t really provide a great deal of support for third party plugins and so it may also be worth contacting the author of ACF for support – that said, let’s see what I can find on this first of all.
Barry
MemberHi Michael! Thank you for sending those details and my apologies for the delay.
The first thing I noticed was that in the HTML you added before the calendar you have included a doctype declaration and head element – this is unnecessary (it should already be generated by your theme) and so I would recommend removing everything except the #menu div – otherwise it is likely to cause problems for any number of web browsers.
So I’d suggest fixing that as an initial priority, then we can look at whatever problems remain 🙂
Barry
MemberCool, hopefully he can help you out. Feel free to post back if there are any tips that might helps others do the same!
Barry
MemberStill could be worth contacting the author – Tim Bowen of Creative Slice – as he will have the best handle on this.
You can see the relevant blog post on the Creative Slice website. I think we essentially borrowed this, but it isn’t something we put together ourselves.
Barry
MemberHey Caitlin, just dropping in to let you know we haven’t forgotten about you. I’m hopeful that we might have an update – either a possible fix or the final word on whether we can support this or not – fairly soon.
Stay tuned!
Barry
MemberSome good points here, +1 to Andy’s suggestion

MemberMike, thank you very much for reporting this to us – we will of course treat this as a bug (issue #17784) and though I can’t offer an absolute guarantee it’s looking like Daniel will fix this in time for the next release.
If there is anything else we can do for you please just let us know – and thanks again for highlighting this 🙂
Barry
MemberHi Sandro.
Unfortunately I don’t think that Events Calendar specific query terms such as eventDisplay will work as you might expect (or be processed at all) when you pass them through get_posts().
Barry
MemberThere have been a few issues with our search functionality – I think the devs may have tweaked it since you first posted though. If you continue to have problems just let us know.
Barry
MemberHi Mike – are FORCE_SSL_LOGIN and FORCE_SSL_ADMIN still defined as true, and if so could you provide a link to your website so I can see the problem firsthand?
Thanks!
