Tai
MemberWith the latest version of the events calendar and advanced custom fields (hence forth referred to as acf) , fields added by acf show up on events page but wont save.
So for example, I add an image field with acf and set the post type for it to be displayed on as tribe_events. I can add an image, which uploads an appears in the field within the backend. If the page is saved the field is blank again.
I have tried creating other field groups to see if it’s a field / field group specific issue, it doesn’t seem to be. I have also tried the field groups that don’t work under the events calendar events post type and they work fine within normal posts and pages.
One possibly related oddity I have noticed is that when on the acf “add New Field Group” page, whilst the url is “www.mywebsite.com/wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=acf” the menu item that’s open in the admin menu is events > add news
Any ideas?
Thanks

MemberHi Tai. It does look like there is some kind of conflict here – let me take a look and see if there are any known workarounds and I’ll get back to you.
Just bear in mind we can’t really provide a great deal of support for third party plugins and so it may also be worth contacting the author of ACF for support – that said, let’s see what I can find on this first of all.

ParticipantHello Tai, I am one of the developers on The Events Calendar (TEC) plugins, I also have a lot of experience with Elliot’s ACF plugin and TEC. Can you tell me what version of ACF you are using? Are the fields you are using in the repeater field or just fields by themselves in the group? Finally, if you don’t mind exporting your field group so I can try it locally on a dev instance?

MemberHi Tim
acf – Version 3.3.9
The field set in question is a single image field, not a repeater or any such.
Pastebin of the xml file contents below, paste bin entry is named after the xml file name
Thanks

ParticipantGreat thank you! I will work on setting up my dev instance to replicate the field group. Cheers.

ParticipantHey Tai, I imported your field set and have not been able to replicate your issue reliably. I say reliably because the image doesn’t stick when publishing while not having a main post data (title or content), but as long as the event fields are set it saves fine. Do you have any other plugins or ACF field groups that could be conflicting with ACF? Have you tried seeing if it saves with just a basic text field?
Side note that I not able to replicate the issue with the events menue open while you are editing the field group at all.
