MemberIt will be soon π
I believe that is correct – the concurrent versions ought to be:
The Events Calendar 2.0.8
Events Calendar PRO 2.0.8
Community Events 1.0.2
Facebook Events 1.0.2
Eventbrite Events 1.0.2Of course you may only be using a subset of those.

MemberSure OK – sorry I think we’re posting at the same time, so some of my replies are out of synch. Feel free to update here or email me as appropriate.

MemberThe only other possibilities that come to mind with the undetected plugins are:
- It could be a file permissions issue. This sometimes happens when an FTP client is used to upload files, depending on how your hosting environment is configured. You could try viewing the directories using your web hosting control panel’s file manager (if you have a tool like that available) and set file permissions to the maximum possible level (777) then reduce them again to something safer (644 is a good setting) – some trial and error could be involved here. See here for an explanation.
- If you look inside these directories, what do you see? If you see something like __MACOSX_ in there then let me know and I’ll advise you further.

MemberYes, you will need the free The Events Calendar plugin and it would need to be the correct version.
Either way, the most current version of any of these I have on file are back to pro 2.0.2, so if you have a link to download 2.0.8, I can perhaps just use thoseβ¦
I am sure I could email you the relevant versions of all of those plugins. Please email me at [email protected] (please make it clear that the email is for my attention) and then I will have a note of your email address which I can use.
Given that your back-up relates to 2.0.2, are you absolutely certain that the last active version before this problem was 2.0.8?
If I go the route of uploading your versions, then I need to figure out where all of the cusomizations were that we paid my CSS/PHP expert to deal with for us.
Right, I mean unfortunately we can’t really help there. What I can say is that so long as your expert followed the documentation then any customizations should be unaffected by this since they will reside in your theme code or as standalone plugins.

MemberOK. First thing to note is that all of the plugins ought to be in synch. You cannot (or should not) for instance have The Events Calendar 2.0.9 running alongside Events Calendar PRO 2.0.8.
You say that you have uploaded two files. Are these .zip archives? If so, they need to be unpacked (or “extracted”) or else you need to upload them through the WordPress dashboard which will handle this automatically.
In other words, at least in respect of our plugins, what you should have in your wp-content/plugins directory is a set of further directories such as “events-calendar-pro” and these should in turn contain further directories and files. If that isn’t the case – if you are looking at a single file called events-calendar-pro.zip for instance – then you’ve done something wrong!

MemberRight. To the best of my knowledge that’s exactly the problem – the relevant fields – which are stored in the database – are reset to “factory defaults” if you will.
If you wish to restore 2.0.8 and you have a matching database back-up that would certainly work, I’m sorry if my comments led you to think otherwise.
It’s sounding like you want to resolve this in the shortest amount of time possible – totally understandable – so this may not be an option for you, but you could also restore an appropriate database back-up, grab the relevant settings then update to 2.0.9 and input those settings in again.
Again, we’re very sorry for the inconvenience. In your case, rolling back to 2.0.8 (since you have database backups to hand) could well be the best solution for you.

MemberNo not at all, that has no impact on the level of support you are provided with (beyond the number of sites that are involved, of course).
But we can’t dig into highly custom stuff like this too deeply – it would simply take too long, besides which I’m unfamiliar with Gravity Forms and so testing something like this out isn’t a possibility for me.
As before the tutorial you’ve looked at was borrowed from Tim at Creative Slice and he is the person to seek advice from – if he considers it to be deprecated then there is not much else I can do to help at this point in time, though I have noted down that it is in need of revision and a team member will either get around to that (or remove it) in due course.
What I’ll do later today is ask if anyone else on the community team is better positioned to help out with this question, failing that all I can suggest is leaving this thread open for a period of time as someone else in the community might be able to help you out here.
Sorry I can’t do more on this occasion.

MemberHi Kristel, that’s unfortunate: it turns out there is an issue where most of the settings are wiped upon updating from 2.0.8 to 2.0.9. To the best of my knowledge there is no way to recover these other than from a backup.
We’re certainly aware of this problem and are working to eliminate it from future updates – possibly a hot-fix will even be introduced to try and prevent others who have not yet update from experiencing the same problem, though I can’t offer any guarantees on that one.
I don’t think it would be particularly advantageous to restore the 2.0.8 files unless you also have a database backup, I’m afraid.

MemberHi Bonnie – I can’t see the code that you posted (please use a service like Gist or Pastebin if you want to post code in the forum).
Please see this example of a modified list.php template: http://pastebin.com/Z88vQBQs (note the code placed within the h4.event-day tags) … you may need to modify this to preserve any other tweaks you have made – or simply use it as a guide π
Barry
MemberSure – if and when you do update please also take care to note down all of your Events settings (if they are anything other than the defaults). Unfortunately we have had reported instances of settings such as After HTML and Before HTML, or custom slugs, being wiped on this update.
The dev team are aware and are working on it, but it is best to be prepared.
Barry
MemberNo problem – glad you got it fixed. Thanks also for the feedback, I think this is definitely an area of the documentation we ought to do some work on π

MemberHi Carter: please accept my apologies on two counts – firstly for the delay in responding but also for the difficulties you have experienced during the upgrade process.
Regrettably updating to the latest version hasn’t been a totally pain-free experience for a number of people.
The fastest route to solving this, in your case, is likely to be as follows:
- Please ensure your license key has been entered: if it has not, do so now then try updating again.
- If that makes no difference (quite possible, unfortunately) please manually upload the latest version of the plugins via an FTP client or your hosting control panel’s file manager.
Hopefully that will do the trick but please don’t hesitate to let me know if you need further help here, we’d really be keen to help you out here.
Barry
MemberOf course. I’ve reported this to the developers and I’ll post back here as soon as there is an update. Sorry once again folks!
