MemberIt meets the requirements for the minimum version of PHP required by WordPress, yeah, but you’re still experiencing problems so we aren’t any further forward with this just yet.
I’m going to have a chat with the team later on and see if there are any other ideas.

MemberI’m afraid nothing is built in to facilitate this directly, but you could investigate the creation of a custom importer that pulls info in from the micro-site’s RSS feed.
Barry
MemberThanks Duncan.

MemberHi Paul, I think the way I would approach this is to filter the RSS query appropriately, if you’re down to take that approach. You might find a few examples of this on the forum however it would be a customization you’d really have to work through on your own.
Barry
MemberThanks Luke – I’m guessing you don’t need any more help here, but just shout back if you do.
not sure why non of the code showed up :S
Yep, unfortunately the forum doesn’t handle code very nicely. We do have some changes in the works to remedy this but in the meantime I’m afraid you need to post in a link to your code (using a service like Pastebin, Gist or similar).
Barry
MemberYes that’s completely possible. Each ticket is simply a WooCommerce product. They happen to have their Catalog Visibility set not to show in the storefront, but you can easily changes this and/or pull them into a custom view if that’s what you prefer.
Barry
MemberYes, that’s pretty much it.

MemberPHP Version 5.2.17
So this actually falls below the minimum requirements for WordPress and by extension doesn’t meet the minimum requirements for The Events Calendar. It’s entirely possible that is having an affect here.
If you can switch to a higher version, such as PHP 5.3, that would be ideal (consider asking your web host if you are unsure – many allow you to switch between a 5.2.x version and a 5.3.x version).
Is anyone else here reporting the same problem also hosting with an older PHP runtime (anything previous to 5.2.4)?

MemberI contemplated truly manually unzipping 2.0.11 over the top of 2.0.10, but I don’t know whether that is safe. … Will I lose things if I deactivate PRO, uninstall EC, then reinstall it?
No, you should lose nothing and that’s pretty much the approach you’ll need to take here. The steps I’d recommend are:
- Take a backup of your site!
- Optionally, use a suitable plugin and place the site into maintenance mode
- Deactivate the relevant plugin(s) then delete them
- Upload the most current version and reactivate
- Take the site back out of maintenance mode
The reason this shouldn’t cause loss of data is that all of the events are held in the database, rather than on the file system. Very sorry for all the hassle though, I’ll raise this with the team as you’re not the only one to encounter problems.
Barry
MemberMatt, Guenter, everyone: I’m just discussing this with the team to see if there is anything else we might do here, it’s clearly causing some disruption for quite a few of you.
Ok guess I’ll just roll back to an older version of Events Pro (only the newest version is giving me the issue)
If you’re happy to and can report back if the problem disappears (and which version you rolled back to) that would be fantastic. Our difficult here is that we aren’t seeing this problem at all.
(This is an appeal to anyone reading this who is affected:) if you can also chime in with details of your hosting environment, such as the version of PHP that is available, the operating system and web server that would be great.
Barry
MemberHi Jan. You can get a digest of this problem if you read this post.
It’s relevant in your case because your site is using jQuery 1.4.4, which is a comparatively old version of jQuery – in terms of internet timescales at least 😉
The Events Calendar expects jQuery to be the same version as that which ships with WordPress – currently 1.8.3.
February 6, 2013 at 8:16 pm in reply to: Your version of The Events Calendar is not up-to-date with one of your The Event #32265Barry
MemberOK, so The Events Calendar itself is lagging behind at version 2.0.10 whereas it should be version 2.0.11, just like Events Calendar PRO.
If using the automatic update feature is failing to bring it up-to-date then I’m afraid you’ll have to update it manually. Can you read Leah’s sticky post on this topic and run through the steps she has recommended?
Barry
MemberOK, well unable to replicate it as I am on a default setup (or with the theme Matt sent across) I’m afraid there isn’t much more I can do here. The QA team suggest this won’t be an issue with 3.0 – so in light of that I think we’re just going to have to wait until that is released.
Barry
MemberThanks for sending that across. That theme doesn’t seem to support regular WP menus? I took an educated guess based on the link you provided earlier and assumed that your menu instead depends on the Thrive Navigation Bar widget.
So I don’t know if that is connected or if it is something else at work here – I can’t actually replicate quite the same problem as you are experiencing, so unfortunately there isn’t much more I can do in this case, except suggest trying a regular menu implementation.
Duncan: can I ask how menus are being handled on your site? Is that also handled with custom or theme-specific code?
February 6, 2013 at 9:15 am in reply to: Custom recurring event results in an event every day #32216Barry
MemberOK – I think this is a quite common mistake where the End Date/Time is the same as the end date for the recurrence pattern (you’ve set both to 2013-02-22).
The start and end dates for the event should be for the first event only (normally the same date, unless each event actually is several days in length).
Does that help/make sense?
