Try the New Events Calendar Pro Beta 3.0

A hand turning a dial to indicate "Beta 3." This will be the last major beta version before we have a release candidate.

We recently released a new Beta version of the upcoming Events Calendar 6.0, which will be one of the biggest updates we’ve ever released for our calendar product. Learn more below.

We’re excited about the new beta version of Events Calendar Pro, which is available now for download. This is an important release since it allows users to migrate existing events into the new data system. So now you can test with accurate event content and experience the migration process that you will eventually go through when updating your site to the release version of Events Calendar Pro 6.0.

Previously, we’ve been encouraging folks to test on a blank sandbox and play around with dummy data. Now, you can add the beta versions to a staging environment that mimics your live site. When you add the beta 3.0 versions to your site, you’ll see a new migration option under Events > Settings > Upgrades. It’s a multi-step process, and when it’s complete you’ll have access to the new recurring event and Series features.

Beta 3.0 also includes other tweaks and bug fixes. You can read the details in our Changelog. Be sure to also check out the Known Issues list, as we’re still working hard to squash bugs.

There are beta 3.0 versions of The Events Calendar, Events Calendar Pro, Event Tickets, and Community Events. These can be used alongside the existing beta versions of Filter Bar and Virtual Events. You can download all of the plugins here. You can also create a fresh sandbox with the updated versions. Sandbox sites will not need to go through migration.

While this beta does allow you to use your existing events, please do not install this on a live site. Beta versions should only be used on a staging site that is specifically set up for this testing. We recommend you create a dedicated staging site that is separate from the one you use to test other updates.

This will be the last major beta version before we have a release candidate. However, we’ll likely put out a few more minor beta versions as we continue to find and fix bugs. For those of you counting down to the final release, this beta is a big milestone. 🙂 We appreciate everyone’s patience while we’re focused on this major project.

We look forward to hearing what you think about the latest release. Please submit your feedback or bug reports through this Google form. Thanks for testing!
