Hi Events Calendar fans! We’re looking for some bilingual people to update the translations for The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO. Some of the translations are getting out of date and there are bits of English showing through, and we’d like to get that fixed. And as always, translators will get a free license for the plugin of their choice in exchange for the help!

Interested? Awesome! Head over to our Translations Forum and check out the Getting Started post to find instructions and the files you’ll need to get started. Keep in mind that you’ll need to update both The Events Calendar and Events Calendar PRO to earn your free license.

Remember, we’re particularly looking for updates to existing translations, so it’s important to merge the existing outdated .po file with the most recent .pot file. To do this, open the .po file for your language in PoEdit. Then click Category –> Update from POT File. Select the .pot file you downloaded from the Translations Forum, and the new strings will then be available in your .po file for you to translate.

Here are the translations were are looking to update:

  • Arabic (ar)
  • Bosnian (bs_BA)
  • Brazilian Portuguese (pt_BR)
  • Catalan (ca)
  • Croatian (hr)
  • Czech (cs_CZ)
  • Danish (da_DK)
  • Dutch (nl_NL)
  • Finnish (fi)
  • Greek (el)
  • Icelandic (is_IS)
  • Italian (it_IL)
  • Norwegian Bokmål (nb_NO)
  • Polish (pl_PL)
  • Portuguese (pt_PT)
  • Romanian (ro_RO)
  • Serbian (sr_RS)
  • Spanish (es_ES)
  • Swedish (sv_SE)
  • Turkish (tr_TR)
