ParticipantThanks Barry. I’ve replied with screen captures and zips of related child theme files in a separate email.

ParticipantWithout the headers in the post, no one can go to the event post. Please help.

ParticipantI have also tried editing those two event posts that appear above the October posts to Hide them from the Events Lists. But that didn’t work–they persist. Guess, I’ll try just deleting the ones for 25 Sep and 26 Sep and hope the original for 24 Sep stays put.

ParticipantThanks Kelly. Yes that is exactly what I am looking for. I added your snippet to my functions.php file and the posts are now intermixed with the regular posts for the dates created except for two. There was an event in September that was a 2-hr each day recurring event on Sep. 24, 25, and 26.
When it got posted, Events Calendar turned it into 3 separate posts, which was OK if that is what is needed to show them on the calendar. But now, even though this event is past, the last one was moved to the top. I tried to edit them but there is no way to mark them as Past Events so I deleted the recurring event information in each post. Now two of them are showing above October posts. It seems if I edit a past event now, it gets moved to the top as newly created. Not sure if that is a glitch in the snippet or in the recognition that the dates are Past Events.
See http://events.stcwdc.org/ The post for “Virtual Conference: Apply Usability and Accessibility Skills to Your Work-3 Days” was posted on September 9 and it is now appearing above October postings.

ParticipantI just noticed this also on my site but only in the sidebar calendar on the home page and the Calendar page. It has the 1st of October starting on a Monday. If I got to other pages, it is correct with it starting on a Tuesday. See it wrong on http://events.stcwdc.org/, http://events.stcwdc.org/events, and see it right on http://events.stcwdc.org/2013/10/12/teach-an-hour-of-code-in-your-classroom-dec-9-15/
August 9, 2013 at 7:16 am in reply to: iCal Import button appears to do something but does nothing in Mac OS X 10.8.4 #59687Cynthia Lockley
ParticipantIt seems to be a page issue. I’ve tried it in Google Chrome, Firefox, and Safari. The iCal button works fine for the calendar on my home page and for the /events/ month view. But when I go to the event description page in any of the three browsers, all that happens is the page refreshes and nothing is downloaded. See
http://events.stcwdc.org/event/lets-do-lunch/?ical=1&tribe_display=
Also note: No Google calendar button shows up on my home page or the /events/ views until you get to the individual event description page. But it works. Is it overriding the function of the iCal button??Secondary problem: when I go to the next month, September, there is no iCal button at all to add any events to personal calendars. See

ParticipantNo, I am not able to isolate it to anything. It is just sporadic.

ParticipantAn update–I posted a new event with a shorter title and tried to add it to Google Calendar. This time, I got a login for Google, then it took me to the 414 Error page. When I clicked the Back button, I got the calendar entry to save in Google Calendar. Odd series of events. http://events.stcwdc.org/event/section-508-2-day-core-workshop-august-12-13/
Cynthia Lockley
ParticipantThe 414 error returned today. It is a long URL but that may or may not be the cause since Barry said above that he couldn’t duplicate it with a long URL. Is there a way to pull in the WordPress URL shortener when posting an event to the calendar? http://events.stcwdc.org/event/gamification-and-the-new-rules-for-user-assistance-recorded-webinar/
The iCal Import button doesn’t work. I’ll open a separate thread for that one.

ParticipantNeil,
Thanks!. The quick fix works. See http://events.stcwdc.org/event/gamification-and-the-new-rules-for-user-assistance-recorded-webinar/Cynthia Lockley
ParticipantThe last I heard from Jonah about this was on July 17. He said there is an open ticket for this problem. See https://tri.be/support/forums/topic/page-not-found-in-page-title-for-empty-calendar/#post-55676
In the meantime, Barry gave me an interim fix that will hide the 404 Not Found for now. It doesn’t fix the problem–it just hides it. See the Answer in the thread https://tri.be/support/forums/topic/webmaster-tools-flooded-with-404s/#post-55380Cynthia Lockley
ParticipantWell, I added functions back one by one and after putting all of them back, it still works OK. Perhaps it was a one-time anomaly?
I guess you can close this now.Cynthia Lockley
ParticipantI turned off the non-Modern Tribe plugins and switched to the basic Twenty Eleven theme and I still have the problem. I removed most of the new functions and it works so I am now putting them back one at a time to see which one breaks it.
Cynthia Lockley
ParticipantWell, you did beat me! Did you notice my earlier post above about finding someone else who has the same problem–he has two comment forms on his page at the bottom of http://www.synergia3.com/evento/presentacion-wideo/ It doesn’t look like he is using the same theme that I am. Maybe others do also–they just need to scroll further down to the bottom of their page?

ParticipantThis can be closed now. Very complicated CSS!
