ParticipantPatricia,
Hi. In a way, I’m glad to hear that you found the same error in your setup so it is somehow reproducible for you. Thank you for looking into it and hope you can find what the problem is. Happy holidays.Cynthia

ParticipantBrendan,
I just got this same error again after making an edit to a post to a forum but I think I have figured out how it happens. You guys just need to fix why.
1- I made an edit and added a description of what the edit was.
2- I clicked to save the edit.
3- It showed me the post and I looked for the edit and it hadn’t been made.
4- I scrolled down and found the orange note that the Forum ID is missing followed by three buttons to select what I wanted to do. I clicked that I wanted notification of responses.
5- I got a response back that I was already following it.
6- I scrolled back to the top and noticed there is an empty box at the top with a selection arrow.
7- I clicked the arrow and a list of products shows. I guessed that the list must be the forum ID and that I should select The Events Calendar Pro since that was the forum I posted my report in.
8. Then I tried making the edit again and describing why I edited it.
9. Saved it and voila! The edit was saved this time.So the problem seems to be that when you Edit your post and you are taken back to it to make the edit, the identity of what forum it was in is lost. There is no place in the edit area that tells you the name of the forum has been removed or that you are no longer in the forum where you made the post. I assumed that if I can reopen the post to edit it, that the system would know where the post is in your support forums to save it back to. But since that has been lost, you get the orange notice that the forum ID is missing. I wonder what would happen if I’d forgotten whether it was The Events Calendar forum or The Events Calendar Pro forum and gave it a different forum ID. Would the whole thing be lost or say “Try again”? It is interesting though, that when I clicked the button below the orange note that I wanted to get mail about responses, that it knew what post I was in and was already following–just not what forum it was from. Maybe you can fix the problem by keeping the name of the forum with the post while in the edit mode?

ParticipantThanks.
The browser was probably Firefox. It could also have been Safari but I think Firefox because I use that more often.

ParticipantFYI, the post I had tried to edit is at https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/division-by-zero-reopened/. I had tried to edit a word in the second line to change “open” to “opened”. I got this error after I hit Submit as stated above.
Cynthia Lockley
ParticipantYes, this happens in your forums. The other post I referred to “Get error trying to edit forum post” was also about a post to one of your forums. See https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/get-error-trying-to-edit-forum-post/. It was closed as Resolved without an explanation why.
Since I am also getting it, I guess it is a bug of some sort. The post I referred to asked for a screen shot of the error but it wasn’t provided. That is why I provided the proof in this ticket.

ParticipantCliff,
Thanks. I unchecked the box and the notice went away. I’m glad someone finally figured out what is causing it.
Cheers,

ParticipantHello,
I commented out all the actions that modified The Events Calendar plugin in the functions.php file so I no longer get the PHP Fatal Error when I deactivate The Events Calendar plugin.
I then deactivated all other plugins and started testing by turning them back on one-by-one. Nothing generated the “Divide by Zero” error messages up to The Events Calendar plugins. I left them all to the end. I reactivated first the basic The Events Calendar plugin and no error messages. I reactivated The Events Calendar Pro plugin and got no error messages.I got the error messages after I reactivated The Events Calendar: Eventbrite Tickets plugin:
[01-Oct-2017 09:11:36 UTC] PHP Warning: Division by zero in /home/stcwdc/public_html/events/wp-includes/comment-template.php on line 1381 [01-Oct-2017 09:11:36 UTC] PHP Warning: Division by zero in /home/stcwdc/public_html/events/wp-includes/comment-template.php on line 1381 [01-Oct-2017 09:11:38 UTC] PHP Warning: Division by zero in /home/stcwdc/public_html/events/wp-includes/comment-template.php on line 1381 [01-Oct-2017 09:11:38 UTC] PHP Warning: Division by zero in /home/stcwdc/public_html/events/wp-includes/comment-template.php on line 1381The PHP error messages are being generated by something in The Events Calendar: Eventbrite Tickets plugin that is conflicting with the
wp-includes/comment-template.php on line 1381. Now at least I know which plugin is causing the errors. Perhaps you can find the problem and fix it?Thanks.

ParticipantCliff,
I tried what you suggested for a manual update to the dev site–deleted all three plugin folders for my development website through FTP and then reinstalled them through FTP. That did not solve the problem as shown in the screen shot. The status on the Plugins page still shows the correct version is installed for all three plugins but the Pro and Eventbrite Tickets also say there is a new version at the same level and to add the license number to the settings.
I again added my production license for events.stcwdc.org in the License page on my development site (dev.stcwdc.org). I got the same messages as before:
“There is new version of The Events Calendar PRO available but your license key is out of installs. Visit the Events Calendar website to manage your installs, upgrade your license, or purchase a new one”
“There is new version of The Events Calendar: Eventbrite Tickets available but your license key is out of installs. Visit the Events Calendar website to manage your installs, upgrade your license, or purchase a new one.”
Perhaps the KB article https://theeventscalendar.com/knowledgebase/using-one-license-for-your-live-and-dev-sites/
“If you need updates on the dev site, you can always move the license again or do a manual update with a latest version from your account’s downloads page.” needs to be updated to say this no longer works?I also tried the moving the license step above by disconnecting them from the production site and reconnecting them to the development site. When that was saved, the dev site’s Plugins page was corrected. But, when I moved the licenses back from the dev site to the production site, I am back where I started with the matched version levels on the dev site but telling me there is a new version.
In addition, the license numbers are still in the boxes but there is a new message at the top of the dev site’s Licenses page:
“You have entered license keys for The Events Calendar PRO and The Events Calendar: Eventbrite Tickets but your keys are out of installs. Visit the Events Calendar website to to manage your installs, upgrade your licenses, or purchase new ones.”This same message also shows at the top of every Admin page in the dev site with the squid included so it takes up a lot of space.
Perhaps you could add a checkbox to the licenses page that we can use to indicate that the license numbers we put in are the production license numbers but this is a dev site, and then key the Plugins page to that checkbox so it doesn’t keep telling us to enter the license numbers?
If all these messages about the licenses on the dev site don’t affect the functioning of the plugins on the dev site, then I can live with the messy notices but it never used to do this before 4.3 when I did a manual update for the plugins or when I disconnected from the production site (http://events.stcwdc.org) / updated the plugins on the dev site (http://dev.stcwdc.org) / connected to the dev site / disconnected from the dev site / then reconnected with the production site. Doing a manual update was a lot easier but either way, it all still worked for testing the changes.
Even though the message on the dev site tells me my keys are out of installs (I don’t need to have automatic updates on the dev site–manual installs are just fine, or were), can I still get update installs on my production site with the licenses reconnected to that site?

ParticipantHunter,
I am working this out on my development site. The WP_DEBUG results didn’t point me to anything in the theme — everything works fine using twenty sixteen and with my Aaron theme. But when I activate the aaron-child theme, the problem occurs. I compared all my child theme files with the original theme files and there is nothing that affects the calendar. I then renamed the “tribe-events” folder in my child theme to “tribe-events old” and the problem went away.
I restored the tribe-events folder in the child theme but left out the month.php file and the month folder. Everything still worked. Eventually, it works with the tribe-events folder in the child theme without the month folder of altered files and by changing my altered month.php file from
if ( ! defined( 'ABSPATH' ) ) { die( '-1' ); } get_header('singular'); do_action( 'tribe_events_before_template' );to
if ( ! defined( 'ABSPATH' ) ) { die( '-1' ); } get_header('singular'); ?> <?php do_action( 'tribe_events_before_template' );I don’t know where those other errors come from that you found in the production site screen capture — they don’t show up in the development site. The 410 gone errors are referring to nonexistent files as if it picked up two hacking attempts caught by Wordfence. I don’t where the XMLhttpReauest is happening in the production site. I’ll have to search for that.
Thanks.

ParticipantCliff,
OK. I added my production license for events.stcwdc.org in the License page on my development site (dev.stcwdc.org). After I clicked Save Changes, I got:
“There is new version of The Events Calendar PRO available but your license key is out of installs. Visit the Events Calendar website to manage your installs, upgrade your license, or purchase a new one”
“There is new version of The Events Calendar: Eventbrite Tickets available but your license key is out of installs. Visit the Events Calendar website to manage your installs, upgrade your license, or purchase a new one.”
I then refreshed the Plugins page but there is no change to the messages on the Plugins page.
Will the messages on the development Licenses page about having no more installs affect the installs on the production site?
