MemberHey James. Thanks for the note, and for your interest. We actually don’t have that functionality built in at the moment…however it has been requested a lot so I suspect we’ll eventually incorporate something along those lines.
In the interim, though: a user has created a solution that might meet your needs. It’s free and ought to do the trick: http://buzzwebmedia.com.au/event-bookings-with-wordpress/. We don’t officially support it, but have tested it and confirm it works in the current setup. It’s been enough to tide most users over until an official solution is available.
Hope that helps and sorry I couldn’t offer more in the short-term. If you have other questions here or need anything else, let me know.

MemberHey Doug P. That’s actually the purpose of this forum…you aren’t required to register for this Pre-Sales Forum since it’s open to prospective buyers (so they can get their questions answered before finalizing the purchase).
Feel free to drop your questions in here and I’ll reply to get you what you need.

MemberHi Dave. You’re asking if there’s a document (database schema) that describes the tables in the database for the calendar, right? If so: we just use the WordPress database schema.
Hope that helps. Let me know if not and I can elaborate.

MemberHi lloydsilver. Yup – anyone who has purchased a 2.x release will be automatically entitled to the 3.0 upgrade, free of charge.
Hope that helps! Please let me know if I can do anything else or if you have other questions.
Rob
MemberWe’re hoping to integrate it into the PRO release, so you don’t have to buy another add-on…we just need to find how to do it effectively. The complex recurrence patterns are looking deep enough that they’ll probably require we rewrite the recurrence architecture, but given how much demand for it we’ve seen, I suspect it’ll be one of our top priorities once we get the initial 3.0 build out.
Hope that helps. If you need anything else, please do let me know. Apologies once more that I couldn’t offer you anything more substantive in the short-term.

MemberThanks for the post here Schalk! We’re stoked to see you posted that on UserVoice (I think it’s a solid idea myself) and hopefully other folks who value it will chime in too. Thanks again.

MemberHey Kerry. Thanks for the note here, and for your interest in finding out if the plugin is a good fit.
I checked out your site there and at face value, it does look like what you’re going for would be possible. The biggest concern I have is about the Community/Featured/Highlighted distinction. Out of the box our plugin doesn’t ascribe different “weights” to different content types. But if it’s just a matter of categorization, and the categories are pulled into the appropriate locations on the frontend automatically, it’s probably not a concern. It also would be fairly easy to color-code given event categories using this free addon: http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/the-events-calendar-category-colors/.
User-submitted events could definitely be handled with Community Events. It allows you as the admin to control what gets published via an admin setting, and can totally hold submissions as PENDING if you want it to. As for the event count, our users routinely have 1000+ events without impact.
On the Trumba comparison, I should note a few things:
* The Events Calendar handles time zones by just relying on the overall WordPress time zone settings per site. This is a pretty standard WP approach unfortunately; time zones are site-wide, not based on the viewer’s location.
* Our plugin is NOT fully responsive at this time. Most of the views look pretty good on a tablet and cell phone, but on the smaller end of that spectrum (phones) the grid/calendar view does look off.
* No monthly fee on our end. You pay your $50 (for a personal license) and that grants you access to support and updates for a year from there. Keep in mind that the plugin doesn’t stop working, should you decide not to renew your license. But you’d no longer have access to support or updates.I believe I covered all your points here. But if I missed something or if any of this requires elaboration, please don’t hesitate to let me know.

MemberHey Dirk. Thanks for the note here, and let me apologize for not hitting your tweet on this subject earlier.
We are definitely working on the best way to approach advanced/randomized recurrence patterns, for the 3.0 lifecycle. This will admittedly not be included in the initial 3.0 build because it’s too complex to integrate at this time. As it stands, in both 2.0.11 and 3.0, the advanced recurrence options are limited to those under the Custom section of the dropdown (more on that here: https://theeventscalendar.com/pro-2-0-a-detailed-look-at-custom-recurrence/).
The biggest challenge dealing with the pattern you’ve described is the fact that events are at different times. You could have an event occur at 2:30 on Monday, Thursday and Saturday. But once the times change it causes a conflict. You could work around it by setting the events as a recurring all-day, with the description saying “Mondays at 2:30, Thursdays at 4, etc.” But that isn’t perfect for obvious reasons and my guess is wouldn’t accomplish your end goal as effectively as you’d like.
Hope that helps and sorry I couldn’t offer anything more. If you have other questions here, or if I can elaborate on the above, let me know.

MemberHey Lorenzo. I just did a quick search on this end, and it looks like based on this thread (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/event-import/) it might be tough without building something manually.
Apologies that I couldn’t offer more there. If you have any more questions on this stuff, definitely let me know.

MemberHey steelbridgeweb. You could definitely add multiple tickets into your cart, though – by default – those would be tied to the date entry they were “assigned” to. So if I bought a ticket for the April 25 entry, for example, I could add that to my cart. Then I’d go to April 26, add the ticket for that to my cart, and so on.
I hope that helps. If I can clarify any further, just give me a shout.

MemberHey steelbridgeweb. Thanks for the note, and for your interest! Happy to help you out best I can here.
It’s admittedly sort of tough handling bookings – not just registrations/sign-ups, but straight bookings – with WooTickets. In the situation you’ve outlined, my concern would be how you’d handle running out of stock. You’d also need to configure the days to which each ticket would be tied…remember that WooTickets all must be tied to a given “event”.
So: if you had, say, every weekend of the month available for bookings, you could assign two tickets to each weekend. Once those had been purchased that weekend would be claimed by the buyer and no further tickets/slots could be sold.
It’d work, but as much as I’d love to sell you on our product…I can’t help but think there may be a better solution out there for this – something more dedicated to straight property/space bookings, for example.
Hope that helps and sorry I couldn’t offer more. If you have other questions on this or if I’ve confused you here (which is entirely possible), let me know and I can update my response. Cheers.
