MemberHey Dale-Anthony. Have you checked out this page (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/the-events-calendar-template-tags-calendar-grid-functions/)? Let me know if I’ve misunderstood the request and what you’re looking for isn’t there.

MemberJust made a note of this in the other thread too, but this is great. I’m going to have a dev comment over there if possible as to the reasoning behind excluding shortcodes in the core up until now.
Rob
MemberExcellent to see you found a workaround here, Mike. I know that at one point (before I was on board) something about the plugin was such that shortcodes weren’t possible. Not sure if that’s changed yet but let me see if any of our devs can comment.
Rob
MemberThanks Shawn. Let me know what the new code brings up; we’ll keep trying to work through this with you for a resolution. Apologies for the inconvenience in the interim.
Rob
MemberMan, that’s awesome! Great work…hopefully other users who come to the forum with a similar issue will find this thread useful. Glad you got this figured out on your own and sorry we couldn’t do more to assist along the way. Let me know what else comes up.

MemberHi Vincent. Let me see if Jonah has any ideas here; he’s done some work with customizing widgets recently and may have some thoughts.

MemberHi Ben. That’s odd; I’m unable to recreate this too. Would you be willing to try our newer, closer-to-2.1 code to see if it changes things at all? Would be happy to send it your way if you want to drop me an email.

MemberHi there Nick. Thanks for the explanation; the code base changed a lot between the 1.x releases and the launch of 2.0 so it’s definitely possible. No guarantees since it is a third party plugin, but l wonder if one of our devs could take a look at the code and easily identify what changed between the releases that could have caused that, and if you can disable it. I’ll get one of them to comment here directly if so.
In the interim, if the devs of MWX want a copy of the plugin to take a look at the code I’d be happy to send it their way.
Rob
MemberThanks Brad. Looking forward to seeing what you turn up 🙂

MemberHey again Steve. I had one of our devs check this issue out over the past couple days, and it’s definitely a problem. We’re working on it as a high priority for 2.1. Unfortunately, there isn’t much of a short-term solution we can offer up without digging into the code quite a bit. If one presents itself as we move towards 2.1 I’ll definitely post it in here.
Sorry I couldn’t offer up more here. Let me know if you need anything else.

MemberI believe we’ve helped a couple users resolve this so far, Diego – though I’m unable to find the thread referencing it in my searching. Let me see if Jonah can point you in the right direction.
Rob
MemberHey Shawn. No prob; though I will note that since we cannot recreate this on our end it does sound to be theme-specific. If you want to let me know what theme you’re using (or provide me with a set of backend credentials so I can see this in action on your site) we can try to test against it for a future release.
To get the 2.0.2 code, email me (rob at tri.be) and I’ll hook you up. May also be worth trying the current beta code (somewhere between 2.0.3 and 2.1) to see if that fixes the issue too.
Rob
MemberThanks for the note, Diego – sorry to hear you’re having issues. My guess is that it was just an implementation error, but let me see if our dev Jonah (who is more familiar with code than I) can point you in the right direction when he hits the forums today.

MemberSounds great, Nick. If you have any other questions after giving this a go please do let us know.
Rob
MemberSure thing…thanks, Josh. Let me see if our dev Jonah can offer up a solution on how to hardcode a generic title here. You’ve tried the before/after HTML fields for the plugin settings right?
