MemberHey John. Thanks for the note here. Let me see if our dev Jonah has any suggestions as to your first point; while we can’t guarantee anything since this is a customization issue, we’ll offer up what we can.
For #2: have you checked to see whether the material in our template tag documentation (https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation/) points you in the right direction? If not, or if you’ve already looked there, let me know and we can advise accordingly.
Rob
MemberThanks for confirming, Herman. Great we got that first issue resolved.
For the second: is this a product of your theme? Ie, if you change to another theme do the widgets work without issue? If so please let me know the name of the theme you’re working with, and a link to the site if possible. Thanks!
Rob
MemberLynne, I spoke this over with a member of our dev team today and had him jump into it. At first glance this looked like it’d be somewhat trivial, but after examining the code, it is posing itself as a somewhat complex level of customization that’s unfortunately beyond the level of what we can support. I apologize we couldn’t help you out more here. Good luck figuring out a solution…if you do, we’d love to hear it on the forum here so other users wanting to customize this way had a route by which to do so.
Let me know what else we can do or if you have any other questions.

MemberHi again Diego. Talked this over with our dev, and we’re going to explore changing the class so it is indeed a PHP problem rather than a Javascript one sometime during the 2.1 lifecycle. I’ve logged an issue in our projects system accordingly. Thanks for the heads up!
Rob
MemberHey Marco. Talked this over with a member of our dev team, and it sounds similar to an event we recently hotfixed for another user (see: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/plugin-the-events-calendar-language-problem-url-french).
First thing to try is flushing your permalinks (just go to Settings -> Permalinks and hit save; no need to change anything). See if that fixes it. If not, shoot me an email (rob at tri.be) and I’ll get you the hotfixed code that should resolve this issue. If you indeed do install that new code you’ll also want to flush your permalinks after activating, before you run the actual test. Let us know what that yields and we can keep looking into it as needed.

MemberHi again Lynne. Just a heads up: Jonah wasn’t sure about this, so I’ve passed it up the ladder to another dev who should be able to chime in here shortly with any suggestions they may have.
Rob
MemberThere is definitely value there, as far as I’m concerned. Maybe having that as a setting people can enable or disable as they see fit. No promises but your vote for it herein means it’ll be a point of discussion as we jump into future builds. Thanks again.
Rob
MemberHi Herman. Believe this is a duplicate of another thread you’ve posted, which I responded to accordingly. Let’s keep the discussion going over there.
Rob
MemberThanks Frank. No other setting options I can think of off-hand, but before I get a dev to take a look here, let me know if you’d be interested in testing the newest code (a beta somewhere between 2.0.3 and 2.1). We’ve made a fair amount of progress on the code since the official 2.0.3 release so maybe this has been fixed therein. Seems worth a shot, anyway…shoot me a note (rob at tri.be) with a link to this thread as a point of reference and I’ll hook you up. If that doesn’t do the trick, we can see what the devs have to say.

MemberHi Tracy. Thanks for the note and sorry to hear you’re having problems. I just tried to recreate this issue exactly on my test site, running the default 2011 theme with no other plugins active, and everything worked without issue. So this leads me to believe we’ve got a conflict at play here, either with another plugin or with your theme.
Are you in a position where you can test deactivation of other plugins (and the theme, if plugins aren’t the cause) to see if one is conflicting? If the problem resolves itself when another plugin is deactivated, we’ll know that is the conflict and can proceed accordingly from there.
One last thought, if none of the above do the trick: send me a screenshot of your time zone settings for the site, and I’ll copy those directly. It’s possible (though seems unlikely) that the reason I can’t recreate the problem is because your time zone settings are impacted, whereas mine are not.
Rob
MemberHi Ken. Thanks for the feedback. The forum as it stands is definitely (and will be for the foreseeable future) a work-in-progress. We launched it when we put the tri.be site up in January and have been constantly working to improve it; though that being said we are certainly aware it’s not yet finished.
There are a number of features/tweaks (16 total, some behind the scenes and some on the frontend) that we’re QAing now and should be deployed over the next week. On the points you’ve noted here:
* Editing a comment isn’t in this next round of code, but will be added once we move past this current round of forum dev work.
* We’re discussing how to approach the code functionality since it is a pressing issue. Just a matter now of deciding what plugin we’ll use to best ease that, but it’s certainly in the works. I’ll post a sticky thread here on the forum when we have a new solution in place so everyone is aware.
* Good call on the search…nobody else had brought that up. I can see the value in shrinking things down, for sure…I don’t think we’ll move away from searching the whole site (since we want to use the same search tool on then home page as in the forum, and that one needs to pull in everything) but there may eventually be an option to filter. Thanks again for the thoughts. If anything else comes to mind here, let me know and I’ll definitely add it to the list for discussion as we plot future builds of the forum.

MemberHey Herman. Thanks for the note; my apologies to hear that you’re having issues. We’ll do what we can to help you out here.
A few suggestions right off the bat:
* You’re running The Events Calendar 2.0.3 and the latest version of WordPress, right? Just wanted to check.
* Go to Settings –> The Events Calendar and play around with some of the different templating options on the dropdown there. Check how each looks on the frontend and see if it gets you closer to where you want to be.
* If you’re in a position where you can deactivate other plugins, deactivate each one by one to see if the problem persists. If the problem stops with the deactivation of a certain plugin, we’ll know its a conflict there and can proceed appropriately.
* It’s also possible your theme could be posing a conflict. If none of the plugin deactivations work, try reverting to the default 2011 theme to see if the problem persists.
* Navigate to your Permalinks page, make sure permalinks are enabled and save the page. Then refresh the frontend to see if the problem persists. After giving those a go, let me know if you’re still having problems and I can dig deeper as needed. Apologies for the inconvenience in the interim.
Rob
MemberHey Albert. Sorry about the inconvenience; we’ll be adding a more substantive code solution down the road, but until then you should be able to use < code > to drop code into the forum. IE:
This is my code, right here.
If you want to paste in the code you’re having problems with, I can get our dev Jonah – who wrote most of that documentation – to take a look and try to point you in the right direction.Rob
MemberHey Suzanne. No problem; let me see what Jonah can offer up when he hits the forums today.
Rob
MemberWill do – we shouldn’t at this point, but when the dev takes a look this afternoon or tomorrow they may request as much. Nothing needed yet though.
