MemberBeautiful. Thanks for the update; I got this to Jonah after he’d headed out last night but he’ll be resuming forum duties today and will take a look from there.

MemberHey Gaelan. Thanks for the note here, and for your words on the plugin. Happy to help best I can. This is an interesting request and not one that as far as I can tell we’ve seen yet. Not sure how doable this is or how much customization would be required, but let me see if our dev Jonah can take a look and point you in the right direction when he hits the forums later this morning. Stay tuned.
Rob
MemberAwesome. You probably won’t want to run with it since it’s not fully stable, but it’ll be good to see if there’s relief in the current code base for that. Shoot me an email, pro /a/ tri.be referencing this thread and I’ll hook it up. Thanks again for being patient so far Andy.

MemberHey Anthony. Thanks for the follow-up here, and for clarifying your goal. When it comes to the calendar in the sidebar: that is indeed (intentionally) pretty bare bones at this point, as we just added so it we had one in place for the initial 2.0 launch. We have had a flood of requests to incorporate exactly what you’ve noted here. While it’s more complex customization than we’re able to provide on the forums, we are A) looking into putting up a tut on how to do it in the short-term, so users can customize to make it possible; and B) adding this in an official capacity somewhere during the 2.1 or 2.2 lifecycle. You may be able to hack it together currently but it’s unfortunately outside the realm of what I can get a dev to share here in the thread. My apologies for not being able to offer up something in the short-term on that front.
As for your second request, on the events calendar filtering. If I understand that correctly it sounds like this thread should cover what you’re going for: https://theeventscalendar.com/support/forums/topic/wp_dropdown_categories/. Can you read through it and confirm?
Rob
MemberThanks Patti. I’ve received this and can see the issue now; since your site looks super basic/straightforward I would be surprised if another plugin or the theme was responsible here. Let me get Jonah to take a look when he hits the forums today, to see if this rings similar to any known issues he’s aware of in our system….or if not, whether he can point you in the right direction here. Stay tuned.
Rob
MemberThanks Myriam. Received last night. I have asked our dev Jonah to take a look as per my response.
In the interim, can you please confirm whether you’ve tested whether the issue persists if you deactivate all other plugins (so just The Events Calendar + Events Calendar PRO are active)? If we could identify whether this is a conflict it’d be great.
Rob
MemberSure thing. Shoot an email to pro /a/ tri.be with a link to this thread and either a link to the dev site or just a screenshot of what you’re seeing, and I can get a dev on our end to take a look when they hit the forum first thing tomorrow morning.
Rob
MemberHey Patti. Thanks for the report here. Any chance you can share a link to the site for us? Would sure help in trying to diagnose the issue…let me know!
Rob
MemberHey Andrzej. If I understand the issue correctly, sub-calendars should work fine on an MU install. However we’re unfortunately not yet at a stage where all of those can aggregate on the higher top-level category. That help, or have I misunderstood what you’re going for here? Let me know!
Rob
MemberHey Robert. Thanks for the note here. This one goes a bit over my head, but let me see if our dev Jonah can chime in here.
Rob
Member@Andy: we’ve got about our first half of the iCal/recurrence-related fixes in the 2.0.5 code base and the broader ones on deck for 2.1. Happy to give you the current, near-complete 2.0.5 code to test if you want to give it a go. Let me know if so.
March 14, 2012 at 8:54 pm in reply to: on list view, can I add code to make a "read more" link below each excerpt? #16765Rob
MemberHey Lynn. Have you tried just using the “Read More” link within the visual editor? Or am I confused as to the request here? Let me know and I’ll adjust my response accordingly.
Rob
MemberExcellent to hear this did the trick, Allan. Please let us know if you have any other issues down the road.
