MemberHey there Meg. Thanks for reaching out here; not sure how to do this myself but it should definitely be doable. Let me get Jonah to take a look when he hits the forum later today so he can try to point you in the right direction. Stay tuned!

MemberHi Chris. Thanks for the note here; I am seeing the issue on your site there. I’m wondering if something else could be at play — this is not the intended behavior of the plugin, and I also noticed the loadtime for that link was rather long. Have you customized the plugin itself in any way? If so would you mind reverting to the unedited version to see if the issue persists?
If that’s not the cause, and if resaving your permalinks doesn’t do the trick (please give that a go), try one of the following:
* Changing to a different permalink structure.
* Making sure you’re running the 2.0.6 build and don’t have any earlier releases active.
* Deactivating your plugins one-by-one until just The Events Calendar is active, to see if it’s a conflict with another plugin.
* If not a conflict with another plugin, testing by reverting to the default 2011 theme – again, with just Events active – to see if it’s a theme issue.Give those a go and let me know whether you’re still having issues from there. We’ll try and troubleshoot accordingly. Cheers!

MemberHey there Jean-Philippe. Thanks for the note here, and for your follow-up. You should not be limited to 1 use of the widgets; are you saying that is the case? On my site I’m able to use each of the PRO widgets as many times as I see fit. Are you experiencing something different? Let me know if so and I’ll do what I can to try and troubleshoot.
If you wanted more flexibility than what the widgets can offer, you could always use template tags too. They’re detailed in some depth at https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation. Hope that helps and please let us know if you have any other questions.

MemberHi again Javier. Not sure about this one myself, but let me see if our dev Jonah has any ideas when he hits the forums later today. Stay tuned!

MemberHey Javier. Thanks for the note here, too. On this one: it will depend on which plugin you want to translate, but really you’ll probably need to work off both .pot files. The one for The Events Calendar covers the core/free plugin and everything in it; the one for Events Calendar PRO is much smaller and includes just the terms included with the PRO add-on that are not translated in core. Realistically though you’ll want to review both, save them and generate a total of 4 files: a .po and a .mo for The Events Calendar, and a .po and a .mo for Events Calendar PRO.
If you’re using POEdit, that’s the best route we’ve found…just open the .pot file into POEdit, make your changes, and save to generate the .po/.mo. Label those correctly so they are consistent with other language files and them drop into the ‘lang’ folder for the appropriate plugin.
That help? Let me know if not and I’ll do what I can to adjust my response.

MemberHi there Javier. Thanks for the note here, and for the words. Awesome to hear you’ve been having some success with the customization and we appreciate the feedback you’ve provided here on the forums so far.
This is a neat idea. I’m not sure how feasible it is given the current limitations of how the plugin is configured, but you could always rely on the color-coding categorization approach Jonah detailed in his walkthrough here: https://theeventscalendar.com/coloring-your-category-events/. Would that help with the problem at all?
If that doesn’t do the trick, mind posting a link or screenshot so we can see the issue in action (and try to advise the best course of action to working through it)? Thanks in advance!

MemberHey guys. Thanks for the follow-up here; while I’m not sure about this one myself, I’ve asked Jonah to take a look when he hits the forums later today. Stay tuned and thanks for your patience thus far.
Rob
MemberHi again Bob. On this one…so you don’t see that slug in use anywhere under “Event Categories”, “Venues” or “Organizers”? And what about “Tags”? Just want to make sure I’m aware of all the elements here so I can try to diagnose this for you.
Rob
MemberHey there Bob. Thanks for reaching out here. You can indeed delete individual entries from a recurrence pattern. One way would be to find the broader events list on the backend; hover over the event-in-question; and click the red “Trash” link. Doing so will bring up this pop-up: http://d.pr/i/v32I. So long as you select the “Delete just this occurrence” option you should be set.
Let me know if I’ve misunderstood the issue here or if you have other questions on this. Cheers!
Rob
MemberThanks for the follow-up, Denis. Did you get this resolved? When I click into a given event from your calendar, it looks like the permalink isn’t problematic: http://d.pr/i/Wtcu. Let me know if the issue persists and I can get a dev to take a look from there. Thanks!
Rob
MemberHey there Arjun. Thanks for reaching out here. Since this plugin does not include shortcodes or use them in any way, the best way to accomplish what you’re going for here would be to embed the specific calendar data you want using template tags. All of the tags we have available and their appropriate placement/usage are documented at https://theeventscalendar.com/support/documentation.
That ought to give you what you need to get started, but please let me know if you have any other questions from there!

MemberHey John: just a heads up that since we were out for the holiday weekend (BBQing and all that jazz), Jonah may not have seen your response. I’ve passed this his way so he can take a look when he resumes forum work today. Thanks for your patience thus far.

MemberHi there Michelle. Thanks for the note here. On the responsive end…we’ve had a few questions about this lately, and have indeed been looking into the different routes towards responsiveness internally as well. We’re working on integrating some type of our own responsive templating but that’s still mostly conceptual and a few months out.
In the interim, while there are no themes specifically built for it that we’re aware of, in general we’d recommend Brandon at Epic Era’s work: http://themeforest.net/user/epicera/portfolio. The responsive code is solid and you can get list/single view working pretty well out of the box.
Hope that helps and please let me know if you have any other questions, or if I can elaborate on the above.

MemberHi again Jesus. The purpose of the venue link as it currently operates was based on user feedback that they wanted to see a frontend venue page: that is, a map with details about the venue and a list of all upcoming events at said venue. While you could change this it would require modifying the core plugin, which is not something we advise or unfortunately can provide support on.
That being said: if I understand your goals here, couldn’t you use the “Organizer” fields to this end? Unlike venues, organizers do not create a frontend page and what you add as the organizer URL will be where the reader is taken if they click the organizer’s name from the frontend. Could you not use that here?
Rob
MemberHey Jesus. Thanks for the note here and sorry that you’re having issues. This is an interesting one and the issue hasn’t come up yet. How are you trying to update – from the backend of your site? Please make sure that you’ve got the PRO license key added as it is required for the update.
Were you able to update The Events Calendar to 2.0.6, and find that just PRO is problematic? If you can give me a rundown of the above I can try to troubleshoot this for you. Thanks for your patience so far.
